Patrol, as usual these days, seemed to turn up rather empty of activity. Hati supposed it was too cold even for evil to be outside, trying to commit heinous crimes. At least, most evil... He wouldn't put it past anyone to give it a go, assuming that the White Moon were all going to stay inside because of the cold, as well. He didn't want to give any of the bastards the chance. Someone had to be out here, trying to catch a murder before it happened, and that someone would have to be him. He could stand it. The cold wasn't that bad, not for him.

He took a deep breath when he finally did sense an aura this night, and set off to find it. Whoever was causing trouble tonight would regret it. As he came upon them, he noticed what he was dealing with—a half youma. Damn, they were always tougher to fight. But fight he would. He caught on to the civilian that she seemed to be waiting for and moved to leap between them, staring her down.

"I don't think you should do that," he said in a gravelly voice.

The first thing Sakluraiite felt, looking at the Senshi in front of her, was deep, abiding boredom. Yawn, all of these do-gooders, all the same. They thought they were so brave, so noble, so strong, so powerful. Thought they could save everyone in the world.

Truly, this was the most tedious thing to deal with.

She smiled, as if she were not already tired of this little interaction. At the very least, if he wanted to fight, there might be some entertainment in it for her, and she could appreciate that. Besides, it was inherently at least a little entertaining, to watch a brave idiot struggle,a s if chasing her off form one victim wouldn't simply mean that she found another, later. Someone would be drained for energy tonight, because she had work to do. If that someone was not the civilian this Senshi was so boldly protecting, all it would cost her was the time it took to find someone else.

She sauntered closer to him. Close enough that when she called on her magical ability, it would wind around him and sink cold claws of fear into his heart.

"And what are you going to do to stop me?"

Quote:
Aura of Fear: Sakuraiite is able to project an aura of fear around her. While using this ability, she glows a dark purple, and anyone within 10 feet of her will experience a sense of fear and dread. They might attribute that to Sakuraiite, but they might also simply feel a general sense of Bad Things. This aura can be projected for 30 seconds at a time and used twice per battle.

Hati shifted into a fighting stance as she approached, watching her with calculating eyes. He wasn't sure what she was planning, but he braced, ready for anything.

Then the fear washed over him, cold and biting, and her body glowed a horrifying, eerie purple that made him want to screw his eyes shut so he didn't have to look at her. It dug its claws in deep, squeezing, choking, cloying. He forced his eyes to stay open even as the rest of his body froze up with the fear.

Push through it, he commanded himself, gritting his teeth. At the very least, he could cast his damned spell. Try to counteract her, scare her off in turn. He refused to let her get this one. Maybe if enough people confronted her tonight, she'd give up and go home.

"M-M-Moor St-Stalk," he stuttered, gasping, unmoving. The fear had him in a stranglehold, but he could still manage this much. He just... had to pray that his magic would answer his call, even though he'd stammered his way through it. Did that matter? He supposed he'd find out in a moment or two...

A deafening silence settles over everyone within a ten foot radius. Shortly after the silence falls, a single, deep bark echoes through the area, and suddenly every enemy within the radius feels like they are being watched by a large, dangerous creature. The silence can be disorienting; no matter how loud anything is, while the magic is in effect they cannot hear anything but the bark--and maybe the sound of something heavy breathing just behind them. Paranoia, anxiety and fear for the invisible thread are prominent for the duration of the magic, and may persist for longer if the player desires. This attack affects all enemies within ten feet and lasts for twenty five seconds; it can be used three time per battle.

Oho. Oh, this was interesting. Darkness and silence settled around her, a silence so utter and total that she could not even hear the blood rushing in her ears, and Sakuraiite could no longer see the Senshi--but that was suddenly of no interest to her. Because in the distance, she could hear a strange bark.

There was something in the dark with her, and she felt her heart begin to race. With fear, yes, but also with a certain....excitement. There was a threat here, something massive, some sort of monster for her to fight, and she spun in place, searching the black expanse for any sign of it.

She wasn't sure if she spoke or not when she called out to it, a challenge that he hoped reached the creature's ears even if it didn't reach her own-- "Come out, come and get me! fight me, you beast!"

Yes, the magic had her afraid. Yes, it had her looking over her shoulder, sure that whatever was watching her, whatever had made that bark, would strike in an instant--

And she hoped it did, because she was ready.

At first, Hati didn't understand what was happening. Why was she not... running away? Then he understood, as she shouted—she was looking for a fight, still. Something... about his magic... must have made her want to fight the enormous beast he knew his magic made people perceive. Well... She had his back to Hati, now, looking for a threat that didn't exist, and a slow grin crept over his face. He could have hardly asked for a better opportunity, so he dashed forward, turned slightly on one foot, and launched his other foot into her back with a spin to land squarely in the center of her back and hopefully send her flying.

Sakuraiite was spending so much time looking for an imaginary foe, she'd almost forgotten about the physical one she'd originally been fighting with. A stupid mistake, really--one she absolutely should not have made. But the promise of something bigger had drawn her attention so fully, had gotten her so focused--

His foot slammed into her back, and she fell forward, smacking hard into the ground. She yelped in pain, a cry that was swallowed by the silence, and rolled over to stagger back to her feet.

She wasn't sure if he could hear her or not--but this was definitely not fun anymore.

So, with all the maturity in the world, Sakuraiite casually flipped the Senshi a raised middle finger, and then teleported away. No need to screw around. there were plenty of civilians to drain.
