Selenga knew he shouldn't have gone out tonight. But he needed to get out of the house, needed to escape the expectations, needed to just—just not be himself. Not be Ming. Ming had so many problems, stuck up in his own head, and Selenga was a simple Page who was fighting for the survival of the planet he was born on and the Wonder he was literally born and chosen to defend. Selenga didn't have any issues other than "fight bad guy, save world x2". Or, at least, it was supposed to be that way. His body seemed to not agree with his head, and truthfully, neither did his head anyway. The more he tried to split Ming and Selenga from each other, the harder his brain and body fought to remind him that life did not work that way. This was evidenced in the way his stomach lurched with hunger shortly after the dinner Ming had eaten exited Selenga's stomach. It didn't matter what he wanted.
He was weak.
Vesuvianite kept his eyes out for easy prey tonight. Things hadn't gone well last time he'd patrolled, but there was no reason for them to go poorly again. After all, it was a new day (or rather, night, they chuckled to themself), and finding some silly fools to drain or possibly starseed shouldn't be too difficult, especially in the frightening cold. Many people would already be far too tired to fight them, and that delighted Vesuvianite well beyond what they thought it probably should have, but did it really matter? Nah. He had a mission, and he was going to fulfill it, damn it all. When he found the Ida Page, swaying on unsteady feet and looking rather unfocused, they grinned to themself and stayed in the shadows, watching as the Page slowly strode forward, obviously trying to keep a lookout for trouble, but clearly failing, since Vesuvianite had gone unnoticed as of yet.
They pounced, plunging their hand into the Page's chest and holding him there with a sadistic grin on their face. "Good evening," they said pleasantly. "At least you get to see a pretty face before you die. It's a pity I'll have to miss yours."

Daedalus had, in his browsing of the lovely human invention called the "internet" while looking for ideas for Procyon's arm, discovered some fascinating things. Memes, for example. One in particular had attracted his attention because it felt very familiar.
Looking for trouble, the rods next to a painted bird said, and if I cannot find it, I will create it.
His life philosophy, in many ways. Certainly his philosophy as a Senshi. If he couldn't find trouble with Chaos, he might just find a way to make some. Not that he had a plan for that, per se, but "figure it out, maybe smash some windows with bricks" had al;ways worked for him in the past. Less well now, perhaps, but....
Not the point.
The point was, he could feel some auras nearby, and since one of them was Chaos, he was definitely going to investigate. His magic was still erratic, still not always there, but he had to see if there was something to be done--and as he approached, he was glad he had.
The sight in front of him made him feel sick. A Negaverse officer with his hand in a Page's chest. Grasping at his starseed.
"Put him down! Progress Forward!"Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Progress Forward! Daedalus speaks the name of his attack, and enemies within an 8 foot radius are suddenly overwhelmed by visions of progress of some kind—social, technological, any kind is possible. These visions are crammed into about 10 seconds, and when they fade, they leave the targets disoriented as they try to parse through what they just saw. The disorientation lingers for about 25 seconds, but can remain longer at player discretion. Daedalus can use this attack twice per battle.

Selenga hardly dared to breathe when the officer pushed their hand into his chest. He felt so sluggish—couldn't move, couldn't breathe, couldn't even blink. Everything seemed completely frozen for him for several long moments, or maybe just one moment stretched into several by panic. Then the hand left his chest, still clutching his starseed, and he dropped to the ground, unconscious.Vesuvianite startled a bit when the other White Moon aura showed up. Damn it all, of course some stuck up super senshi had to come swoop in and save a precious page. They scowled at the appearance of the senshi—one of the alien ones, too, the ones who'd supposedly lived for about a thousand years. He just couldn't have a normal night, huh? He removed his hand from the Page's chest, holding the starseed, ready to snarl some comment or other about the alien losing, but the magic hit them and they staggered a bit as strange, futuristic visions assaulted their senses. The visions dazzled him with their vague prettiness, and even after they faded from directly assaulting them, they still felt dizzy. Their entire body felt... loose, for lack of a better word. They swayed a little on their feet, unsteady as a newborn foal, Selenga's starseed barely still clutched in their hand. Damn these senshi and their magic, was the only thought that Vesuvianite could really have coherently at that moment.

Daedalus knew he had to be quick. He had no idea how long a body could last without a starseed--nor how easy it might be for this Nega to destroy it or something else even worse.
So, with little time to plan, he fell back on instinct, and launched himself, full-body, at the officer. Knock him off his feet, throw a few punches if necessary, grab the starseed, get it back in the person it belonged to. It wasn't exactly a foolproof plan, but it would have to do, because Daedalus was doing this on the fly and sometimes you had to throw a brick (or your whole body) at an enforcer (or a Negaverse officer.)

One moment, Vesuvianite was only vaguely dizzy and feeling a little sick, and the next, he'd been thrown to the ground by someone's entire body. Ah! It was that damnable senshi that had cursed him with its magic. Weakly, he scrambled to protect himself, but Daedalus proved too quick and too smart. The starseed he'd grabbed was snatched from his hands and he scowled again, trying to get to his feet and ******** you," he spat from the ground, feeling utterly helpless and completely beaten. He'd been so looking forward to coming back to the Negaverse with the starseed of a rather useless Page, get themself some accolades, anything like that... It would have been nice. But no, he'd had to get completely bodied by an upstart, alien senshi. They decided it would be best to book it out of there, and since they could stand again now... they did.

"Dinner first!" Daedalus singsonged, bouncing away from the officer once he had the precious starseed in hand. He let the Lieutenant run--chasing him down wouldn't help the poor unconscious Page. Instead, Daedalus knelt, extending his hands and opening them over the Page's chest.
He took a deep breath. Then another. Waited. Hoped.
This was the worst part--the terrible moments of not knowing if he was too late. But the starseed had still shone while he was holding it--so Daedalus was pretty sure he was in time.

Selenga wouldn't say he drifted in any kind of darkness when he woke up. It just seemed like... one moment, he was there, alive, terrified, and sick to his everything, and then the next moment, everything was black, and what seemed like only a moment after that, his eyes slowly cracked open to one of the most beautiful faces he'd ever seen in his life. He wheezed a breath, trying to regain some sense, any sense, of being alive and somewhat well. Because surely (other than, of course, his spouse), nobody who was alive could be this beautiful. But his body ached and none of this seemed like the sort of thing that came with going through the reincarnation process, so he supposed he had to accept that he was indeed alive. Maybe not well, but... "Thank you," he croaked, carefully sitting up. "I do think my spouse would be unhappy if I'd turned up dead because of my poor choices."

He was waking up. Good. Daedalus let out a breath of relief, glad that he hadn't been too slow, or terribly unlucky. The purples and golds of the Page's uniform twinged a vague memory in him, now that he got a good look--but he set that aside for the moment to focus on the person in front of him.
"And I'm glad to be able to return you, safe and sound, to this spouse of yours," he said, lightly. As light as he could manage, considering the deeply stressful circumstances. "I'm Daedalus. A pleasure to meet you, especially considering the circumstances."

Selenga cracked a small grin at that, feeling a little bit better, at least. He inhaled slowly and exhaled just as slowly, trying to keep calm. Trying very hard indeed not to think about the fact that his very soul had almost been stolen to be permanently destroyed, one way or another, by the Negaverse. He needed to fix himself. Stop going out when he felt poorly. He knew he shouldn't. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Daedalus. I'm Selenga. I must thank you for saving me," he said, slowly sitting up, creaking into a stand, and dusting the dirt off his uniform. "Perhaps I'll introduce you to hir, sometime."

Daedalus stood up, and offered a hand to Selenga to help him up as well.
"I'd like that, if things work out. For now, if you don't mind, I'd like to stick with you to get you closer to home--I'd feel terrible abandoning someone after they went through what you did. So...walk and talk, perhaps?"
Truth be told, he didn't want to let this Page out of his sight. Not when he wasn't sure if that Lieutenant was still lurking around, waiting for another chance to strike. Better that they stick together, at least for now.

Selenga gratefully took Daedalus' hand to stand up with. "That would be nice, yes," he agreed. "And I think my spouse would kill me hirself if I turned you down, ha."
