Aloysius was at work and that left Liam with a lot of free time on his hands, since he’d finished his school work for the week already, so he’d decided to spend his time on something else. That something else might just need Melody’s input and lucky for him she was home today so he’d headed off to find her. Having made some tea for Melody, something he felt she might enjoy, Liam had headed up to her room with the offering on a tray as well as a laptop.
A gentle knock on her door before he spoke up. “Melody, do you mind if I ask for some help from you?” He was hopeful here, hoping she might not mind helping him with this secret little plan of his, he was also hoping she might see the value in his little plan as well.

Melody had popped in for the day to pick up some packages she had sent to the Sharp home and was working on sorting things in the closet when Liam knocked. It had been a bit of a handful organizing the things she’d needed to get done here even though Aloysius was around this time to help if she needed it, though she wasn’t about to ask for help with the things he’d dumped on her in the first place.
Wandering back away from the closet, she opened the door and saw the tray of tea. “Oh, you don’t need to juggle so much when you only have one arm you know that right?” Taking the tray she brought it inside and set it on the small table next to the unopened boxes. “What do you need help with? I’ve got a lot more time now that I’ve graduated, other than getting all the cleaning people and staff resituated here since you both have been staying here. I got away with having the bare minimum done here since nobody was living here other than the gardener for a long while.”
Sitting in one of the chairs she started preparing herself a cup of tea with the sugar cubes that were already on the tray. “I have some news for you too, after your thing first though.”

“It’s not juggling, I can balance it well enough.” The cast came in good use for some things, like balancing a tray. Following her into her room, slowly, he took the time to look around. “Anything I can help with?” Without much thought to the words they were already passing his lips, wanting to offer his help in whatever manner he could. He knew he was limited right now, the cast weighing down on his arm reminded him of such, but he could still do some things to help out.
Taking a seat for himself he nodded once, he was grateful for her help in cleaning the place, he had been going to find a way to hire people himself to clean up the place - and he told her as much now.
“I was hoping to pick some less formal clothing for Aloysius. I just don’t know what would be good, I was hoping for your more fashionable opinion, but he could use some more casual clothing. I wanted to try and add some things to his closet and I’m not exactly suited for picking peoples clothing.” He could manage his open but he was far more casual than Aloysius and this was a matter of babysteps…he could not throw jeans and a tshirt at Aloysius and expect him to touch it much less wear it for any amount of time.
“I don’t know what would work, where to look, who to get in touch with if I need to…” But he wanted to try, he really did.

“Oh nothing really, just some new clothing I ordered for when I work with Aloysius teaching. I have it mostly put away the rest is some things I need to open and leave in my car or bag, just like extra sheet music and things like that.” Sure some of the outfits were a lot nicer than they needed to be but she wanted to try impressing one of the Evans men one of these days.
Sipping her tea, she nearly choked on it as she started to laugh. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in anything other than the same ten outfits my whole life, eleven now if you count his uniform.” Watching the other though, she could tell he was being serious. “Oh well, you really are trying to get him to be less stiff, aren’t you? I know he went to this tailor that knows our family for all of his clothing, never goes out and buys clothes or anything really. To be honest, that night when I got back into town and you guys came down, was the first time I didn’t see him all covered from chin to ankle.” It was still a bit concerning seeing the scars and marks she spotted that night since they’d been wearing what she figured was one of Liam’s shirts.
“I’m not sure the name but the number is on an old faded card somewhere. I think maybe his desk but he keeps the thing locked since the seal is in the drawer too and he won’t let me touch it. It’s not my fault I want to sign new contracts and change things more often than he ever did.” Pouting a bit she went back to her tea. “Whatever you’re doing seems to be getting him to sleep more, he doesn’t look like he’s dying here as much as he did that night either.” It was a shame in a way but that was something else entirely.

“I’ll see about getting that number, I’ll find a reason to need it, so I can get him some casual clothing made. He needs to look a little less stiff all the time, especially if we’re just going to a bakery.” He was far too dressed up to go for a short walk, or to pick him up from classes. Aloysius had no casual, or even semi casual, clothing as everything looked too formal. “I was thinking of some online ordering as well, if you’d like to help me with that?” He offered, nodding to the laptop he’d brought with him.
“He needs more than ten, or eleven, outfits and he needs some more bed clothing as well.” He was honestly trying to improve things for Aloysius but sometimes it was a bit slower than other times, not that it stopped him though. “Lounge wear perhaps…something for when he’s not in normal clothing but isn’t sleeping yet.” For late night in the house and reading, he was trying to make things more comfortable and relaxed for the taller male.
“What sorts of changes do you want to make? I mean have you talked to him about them?” or did she want him to go over the ideas with Aloysius perhaps? At least some sensible ones anyway?

“Well even if he’s dressed more casually he always has been stiff, though it's been less so lately again. Even when we were kids he was that way, though the long sleeves were usually rolled up back then. I could also say that maybe if you dressed up as well he might be a bit more… inclined to listen. Not then I mind you being casual but it would be interesting to see you dressed up.” It wouldn’t be hard to figure things out, not when she knew the orders that had been placed.
“I can help with some of it here and there, but you really don’t need to help him that way. I don’t think the way he dresses is hurting anything. But then again I’m used to it anyway, it’s like arguing with a brick wall.”
Opening up the laptop she looked over some things she was thinking of for the blond that sat across the table, just a couple ideas and nothing too drastic for now. “I wanted to start some business ventures within the Negaverse, using the resources I have at my disposal but unfortunately, anything that has to do with the funds I need would have to go through him and I doubt he would approve of getting his personal life involved with things in that way. Though…. If a shell corporation and accounting section could be set up that might be a bit easier of a pill for them to swallow.” Inclining her head as she looked at him.

“I know and it’s not hurting anyone. But I’d like him to be more comfortable, or at least look it, especially if we’re just going to the bakery and he looks so formal.” Though he did see the point Melody made about his own clothing. “I wouldn’t even know where to start with my own clothing, I just grab things at the store and check sizes before I pay.” And he knew there was a lot more to that, especially when trying to get clothing that was fitted for a person.
“How about you help me get clothing for myself, I’ll trust you with it all, and help me with more casual for your brother. We could both use the changes I think…find a middle ground where I go up and he comes down. So we match when we’re out.” Because seeing them side by side was like looking at two mismatched puzzle pieces at times, he was certain of that. “And a shell company and accounting section…” Trailing off he couldn’t help but smile and even laugh.
“Are you asking me to help and offering me something of a job?” He knew he would be graduating at the end of this semester, he’d really done well and worked hard, but to be able to help Melody and perhaps even the Sharp family…Liam would love that, it would secure a lot of things for him. That was all he needed and wanted…was a secure life that wasn’t anywhere near as up in the air, and uncertain, as most of his life had been.
“I don’t mind helping at all, if we can go forward with a plan like that, and we can speak with Aloysius, we might be able to make it work. If the idea is properly presented and planned out.” Maybe he’d even offer some advice or help as well, ways to keep the family name safe…or other ideas. He had been around longer than either of them had been.

“I can see what I can do, I’ll have to wait on your things though since I can’t take the best measurements with a cast involved. Either way, I have some ideas for things on both sides.” Already adding a few items open in separate tabs until she could get the pant sizes right for both. “I don’t know his measurements so I’ll let you figure that out. I have no clue if they would even carry pants for him in most places with how tall he is. I also can’t in good faith ever purchase a pair of shorts for him because of the same issue. I never… ever… want to see that much of my brother’s legs.”
Shuddering as she picked a few lounge set ideas out as well, she opened all the tabs up before rotating things back over. “To be honest I would think it might be a bit better if you were on a similar level of things, I have a feeling that was why the Charteris tried playing that little game of theirs with that photo of the two of you.” It had been dealt with in the end but she knew it was easier to level the playing field if she could, not that her brother really did much that could be seen as scandalous when it boiled down to it. He was a teacher, volunteered after school to teach to children, and still ran the most important part of the family business. It pissed her off still but she’d do what she had to to make sure everything still ran smoothly.
“It would look good on a resume and I wouldn’t have to keep the secret of the actual purpose of the company involving the negaverse since you already know all about that side of things. Just something simple at first, I want to open up some job opportunities for some people. Just a few things is all.” Waving her hand around vaguely as she spoke.
“After all, if you work for me, then that means you don’t have to worry about having to go into an office somewhere else every day. I’d be fine with you working from here. I think Aloysius would approve of that too, don’t you think?”

“I’ll get his measurements somehow.” It shouldn’t be too hard, he’d ask nicely and find a reason to give, something honest but not telling him everything. He did want to surprise him, as much as he could. “As for myself…I guess that’s something we’ll have to work on at some time…” Sooner rather than later likely though, as it seemed he’d need a proper wardrobe and it would need things better fitting than what he could get at the local mall.
“I don’t think I can picture him in shorts, I don’t think I’ve even worn shorts since I was a child.” And he didn’t have any plans to either, they were just an awkward thing in his opinion. It was an age thing he thought, as well as gender, where once a male got to a certain age they just became a very strange thing to be seen wearing.
“It could have been that reason, considering how different we obviously are it would have caused a scandal and they were hoping I’d want to avoid it - or that you and Aloysius would.” They had been hoping for a lot and had kicked a hornets nest as Melody had taken care of them, and he had not backed down either. .”She died you know…I heard about it.” He spoke casually…because why shouldn’t he? He didn’t know her and had no connection to her, aside from the blood and genetics which they shared. “No doner found in time.” Though he was sure Melody had somehow heard this news as well, not much with her surprised him really.
“You are right, I don’t think he’d mind me working for you and the family. He would appreciate me being home, and I could make sure he takes care of himself, and I can help you as well.” He could, in some ways, have freedom and be able to work at his own pace from the comfort of being at home. “We should all discuss it, because I do like the idea and I’m certain Aloysius will and you I know do like it.”

“I’m sure you’ll figure it out for him and then I can help at least with picking some things out as we go.” Finishing up her first cup of tea, she poured another one and added a bit more sugar. Tapping a few more keys on the laptop as it sat between them, she opened up some more formal styles for him to look at.
“Good, no shorts for anyone in this house.” She didn’t like them either, mostly stuck to skirts and dresses. If she needed to, she would wear dress pants or something like it when it was colder and she was teaching.
“Yes, I would have done the same thing but they weren’t aware of my hand in things. It also helps that Aloysius, even if absent on most social affairs, has the cleanest of public images because of his day job. He’s a saint compared to most people in my circles, it’s a bit funny though considering what else he does for work.” It had to have been a way to balance things she figured, or at least keep busy like he always had. Either way, it was too touchy-feely for her, at least teaching the Evans family got her in a position she wanted, one that could lead to finding a family member to lure in and marry.
“Oh, I knew, it spread like wildfire through my groups. I wasn’t sure if it mattered much given how things had gone but… I do have some news you might be a bit more interested in. It has to do with my trip.” Turning to face them, she pulled up a photo on her phone and set it down in front of Liam on the table. “I was in Italy when that incident happened to you, I was relaying a story of sorts. Nothing too exaggerated but I was waiting to hear back from them before I told you and they are interested in meeting you. I have to figure some more things out but I am sure Aloysius would be up for helping on that front as well?” Nodding to herself as she looked down at the phone.
“We can handle the rest of that later after you’re all healed up. As much as I would like to corner him with it while he’s all worried about you, I know you don’t really approve of my methods with him.” Melody rolled her eyes, she knew they were the go-between for things and she had promised a truce with her brother. “It’s not as fun when he’s already run ragged.”

“I can only be glad he had an image that would be nearly impossible to taint then, and I’m glad you stepped in.” Because he couldn’t and he couldn’t let Aloysius know, though he did know at this point, he’d kept it from the other at the time for his own well being. He had not wanted to stress the other out or have Aloysius do anything that he might regret later.
Looking over what she’d pulled up on the laptop he nodded to a few things, pointing out his sizes as well. If anything needed fixing he was certain it would get done, by someone, but he really wasn’t surprised when Melody confirmed how fast the news of his mother had spread through certain circles. “It doesn’t matter, not really, but I do find it a nice ending to things. They won’t need me any longer and it means we all get to continue on in peace.” Or as much as they could. Provided his half siblings kept themselves in good health, and didn’t decide to cross swords with Melody, things would be peaceful with them and they would remain out of his life for good.
His breath caught as he stared at the picture of his phone. “You went and found him…and he is interested.” A hand rose to his lips to cover his surprise. “That’s better than I’d hoped for…it’s what I wanted though. I’m sure your news to him was a surprise.” As the man had to have been clueless about him. “I doubt he’d have an issue with me wanting to seek out my father, or anything concerning him.” He trusted Aloysius to understand and to help in whatever way he could, he knew the other well enough to know Aloysius would understand this. For someone who had never had family and had wanted it, more than most, to finally find a family member who wanted to know him. It meant a lot, it touched a part of him back in the orphanage.
Of course she knew, he was trying to get them to work together as peacefully as possible. “Once I’m healed up we’ll deal with me working for the family. I really would like it.” And Aloysius would accept he, he was certain of it, if only because he wouldn’t worry about where he was when at work or on his way home from work. “Then I can also get to learning tp drive once I’m healed up.” So he’d have both hands in case. “Thank you for all the help Melody, it means a lot.” It meant so much to him…he couldn’t find the words for it really.

“He’s always been careful, at least in part I guess. Surprising considering he was at the bottom of a bottle. But anyway…” Waving the topic off she leaned forward and hit the order button for the items they chose in the correct sizes. “I doubt they would have approached you anymore either way, not in earnest at least. I made very sure of that after everything had happened.” Smiling just a bit, she’d kept all that a secret from him and would keep it a secret. She quite liked tearing things apart and watching a house of cards come crashing down, it sent a message and she would do it again if needed.
“Of course I did, do you expect any less from a Sharp?” Smiling as she swiped through a few other photos of the man who was Liam’s father before opening up the string of texts from them where she had been organizing a way for him to come visit. “He was surprised, well in part. I think it was a case that he had wondered about it given how things had happened. You can reach out to him through the phone at some point but we can handle that later. With the time zone differences, it’s too late to call now.”
Leaning back up she went back to her tea with a smile. It was good to hear they were going to help and she had what she needed to keep making sure they were happy and comfortable here. It would be nice to have someone along when she shopped to carry all the bags then too. “Have some tea for yourself too alright? You need to take a break here and there otherwise you’re going to send Aloysius into a panic again.”

That was good, that they wouldn’t try anything against him from now on. Especially if his father did come to visit and seek to know him, he didn’t need the threat of his mothers family hanging over their heads like some great blade ready to swing. The idea of being able to communicate, even at a distance, with his father was such a gift - did Melody have any idea? Perhaps it was best from a distance at first, to let them communicate and clear up some awkwardness that would be there, before they met in person.
“I’m sure he wondered all this time…perhaps assumed since he’d been deported that there was a big reason for it. But, that he wasn’t too surprised, and has been positive about this. I’m beyond happy.” And he did look over the pictures, drinking them up, he read over what he was able to see of the messages. “How is his English or should I try and learn Italian? It’s a bit late, I’ve heard younger children do better when learning a new language, but I can try.” Though the text messages seemed alight from what he had seen, he had a right to worry.
“”I’ll take care of myself…if only because it helps to take care of him.” And Melody as well, as she did seem to care for him as well, even if she didn’t say it out right. Pouring himself some tea he took his with milk and sugar, sipping it slowly. “Thank you for this Melody. It feels like a curtain being shut and a new one being opened.”
And it felt like this was where he’d wanted to be all his life without ever knowing it. He had a family and a home and a boyfriend and he knew who his family was…even if he didn’t accept all his blood born family he still had family - one he’d chosen and one who wanted him as well.

Mel was all smiles as she watched them going through things and trying to figure things out. It was always nice to see things panning out exactly how she’d hoped they would. "His English is good, he spent a lot of time back and forth between here and there but Aloysius and I both speak Italian so I wouldn't be opposed to you learning it too." Hers was a bit rusty but she was sure Aloysius would be a bit better at her than it since he still handled some things with older connections who never really got around to speaking English.
"You'll be fine either way but I can give you his number and let him know you'll be contacting him in the next few days or so. There's no rush to any of it, I'd really prefer he not know you got banged up in our care. I did let him know we were making sure you were being well taken care of. Either way, there is a lot of time to figure things up while you heal. At least a month more I think or a bit longer." Finishing her tea, she settled in and admired the fruits of her labor. "I do what I can for family Liam and you are part of this family." Never mind her brother, that was a whole different matter.
