Hobbies: Make Overs – Her mom’s a makeup artist, so Lola has spent a lot of time watching her work. She started dabbling with makeup at a young age, but views it more as an art form than a requirement for looking good. Lola likes to use her friends as canvases, often experimenting with bright colors and fashionable styles she hasn’t quite perfected yet. She has an ever-expanding collection of products—a mismatch of child appropriate finds and a few higher end products her mom has gifted to her, plus hair chalk and other accessories to complete her extravagant looks.
Bead Crafts – Lola likes working with beads. She started with simple friendship bracelets but soon progressed to keychains, cute decorations, earrings and necklaces, and some of the more complex crafts she found while shopping with her mom. Her favorite store to visit in town sells beads of all shapes and sizes, plus all the supplies and tools one could need to fashion beaded jewelry. Lola loves to share her creations with friends and often gives them out as gifts.
Virtues: Independent – Having always been a precocious child, Lola often draws praise for her independent nature. Typically self-reliant, she doesn't need reminders to stay on task to get things done. She knows what’s expected of her and enjoys the opportunity to prove herself. Lola does her homework without being hounded, helps out in the classroom without being asked, and isn’t one to pester others for attention unless she’s tried something on her own several times and come to the conclusion that she might need help. She can keep herself entertained and doesn’t require a lot of instruction.
Honest – To Lola, nothing is worse than a liar. She does her best to always be truthful, whether she’s with adults or other kids her age. If someone asks her a question, she’ll give an honest answer. Lola doesn’t hide her feelings or deceive anyone about her intentions. That isn’t to say she doesn’t keep secrets, because she will for her friends,
especially if it’s important or might lead to them getting into trouble, but lies of omission aren’t the same as making things up, right?
Flaws: Defiant – Because she can look after herself without much guidance, Lola has been known to exhibit some defiance in the face of authority. She can be opinionated and won’t accept something she doesn’t believe is fair. Lola can get by without help, so she’s come to the conclusion that because she doesn’t
need it she shouldn't have to accept it. Telling the truth is one thing, but following rules that don’t meet her own standards is something completely different. Lola can be argumentative and hasn’t been without tantrums.
Tactless – Sometimes Lola doesn’t understand that honesty isn’t always the best policy. Or maybe she does but she just doesn’t care. In her quest to always tell the truth (unless it suits her to keep a secret), Lola can be a little too frank. If she doesn’t like something she’ll tell someone, and she doesn’t always sugarcoat it, especially if that someone isn’t her friend. She can be blunt and inconsiderate, and occasionally thoughtless. She strives to be self-sufficient and straightforward but often ends up seeming like a brat.
