When Ilistoh had played cards for coin back home, it had always been a transitory affair. He had never allowed himself to leave his home for long, so his opponents had to visit his porch. Not many did. Gambling in Belrea felt far more serious, mostly because it was indoors. It was amazing the difference a roof made. Ilistoh had purchased a shirt and shoes before even thinking of stepping foot inside this place, and he pulled at his collar now, wishing he had gotten something looser. He glanced at his cards and the money he'd already put in the pot. Nah. There was no way he was winning this one. "I fold."With a nod to the dealer he stood and made his way over to the snacks, trying not to stare at the intricately presented finger foods.

"You're out of place here, friend," Leander commented, body leaned against the table as he watched the odd hybrid wander close. The dealers were never good here, but Leander sort of enjoyed watching the tourist get their money taken from them. It was better than his own money being snatched by the house. He tipped the bottle he'd held loosely between his fingers up to his mouth, taking a long swig before tossing it behind him. "Where you from, kid?" He said kid, though in truth they were probably around the same age. Still, the guy looked at odds with the decor around him, and the shirt did look at bit tight.

"I think you're right," he said brightly, taking a good look at the Geian who had addressed him. Ilistoh wasn't terrible at faking nonchalance when he wanted to, but the languor that exuded from this guy seemed effortless. Plus, he was wearing his shirt in a far cooler way than Ilistoh himself. There was something to be learned here, and he was going to try his hardest to retain the lesson. If he could figure out what that lesson was. "I'm Ilistoh of Sauti. Tinerr, specifically." He smiled, the expression hopeful and a little nervous. "I'm looking for stories."

He'd never been to Sauti. Never considered it really. He wondered if his father's killer had been there - seen the sights that he could not now. Not that he thought his father would have wanted to. A bemused smile found its way to Leander's face, shaking his head at the boy as he eased a bit of the tension out of himself. This kid wasn't old enough to be the killer of any sort so no use focusing on those thoughts. "Leander. Of here," Leander responded, waving his hand around. "What sort of stories do you seek?"

I guess I'd prefer something that would draw listeners in rather than, say, a boring fable, but beyond that I'll take any tale, true or not."Ilistoh undid the top button on his shirt with a slight sigh of relief. Better. "I'm a more conventional trader too, but I don't have any of my goods with me here."

Leander cast a quick glance over at Ilistoh as he undid his shirt, considering making a comment but deciding against teasing the other boy. He was a curious guy, traveling around and sharing tales and goods despite his age. Leander did wonder if his own stagnation was a problem. "Interesting. I don't know if I have any stories to offer you. Tragically."Leander leaned back a bit more, running his fingers through his hair and sighing. "But if you want a story perhaps we come up with our own, friend. Pick a random person and we spin our own tale, yeah?"
