Kaimana hoped that visiting a nice place in Jatine could be a good way to relax before heading further into Oba, the deserts behind the capital of Sulburi calling his name for another treasure hunt. He had enjoyed the brief visit in Matori before roaming to more interesting areas, called this and that way by Kieran when they went to research potential finds together, and now that the excursion to Kahi and Belrea was resolved the man found himself thinking of home. Maybe after this excursion it would be finally time to settle down and work on building something for himself that was more than a simple hut. At least that was what he pondered as he thought about his savings, Kaimana finally having some earnings instead of living every day running errands in that small Matori village for whatever coin or scraps he could find like he did while growing up. It also helped that he had found some treasure in Matori, the sunken ship leading to quite the haul thanks to that map he had found. He didn’t think he would ever tire of such excitement, hence why he was interested in seeing what the Oban deserts had to offer with any ruins out there.
But the desert would wait for another day. Today was a day to just relax and enjoy wandering the town or even one of the nearby lakes, the area in his opinion not quite as amazing as the ocean view back home but pretty in its own way. They had already seen their fair share of ocean too with crossing through Belrea and Kahi before finally returning home, so a change of pace was nice. At least that was what Kaimana hoped as he thought about his companion who he waited for outside of the inn, the location right along the edge of town where the fresh breeze from the lakes was cool and crisp. One could see the waters gleaming just on the horizon, the sails of fishing boats bobbing up and down on the waves as spots in the distance. Despite everything Kaimana was a bit nervous about spending the day with Sriina. After some alone time in Belrea there was an energy that he felt between the two of them, the Matori curious about the future and hoping to bring up the topic along the way as they explored the area together today.

Sriina 1
Their journey had brought the traveling group back around to mainland Tendaji, and after the... exciting night in Belrea there had been a spark in the atmosphere that Sriina couldn't quite shake. She had been thinking about their night together in the cave for quite some time but had a hard time catching Kaimana to talk about it.
Kaimana had asked Sriina to spend the day with him and she could feel a sense of nervousness and almost panic in her chest. She grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder, shutting the door behind her to meet up with the other water earthling. She hadn't been back in Oba in a long time, she couldn't help but wonder what the day would bring for the both of them.

It was rare that he felt any fear or nervousness, but today Kaimana felt almost skittish as he waited for his companion to appear. "Oh hey there." Really? Kaimana winced at his own awkwardness, the Matori glancing at his half-raised hand before placing it back down at his side as he approached Sriina. He was dressed casually as usual with just a small satchel to carry any necessities or whatever things they might find today, but he took his steps slowly as if he had on heavy armor or something. "It looks like clear skies so we should be able to do whatever we want in town." He mused with a smile towards Sriina as he finally stood next to her, the Matori glancing around thoughtfully. "I hope you rested well. I'm planning on doing all that we can today in Jatine before I get caught up in Sulburi for the next dig. Is that alright with you?" Knowing Kieran there would be little time for playing around, it would be a lot of work with Kaimana absorbed into his sketchbooks to document any finds. And other than that, Kaimana simply wanted to enjoy a day with Sriina especially when he was curious about her own future plans and if she was interested in his own goals now that they were back from their overseas adventures.
He was eager though despite everything, his nervousness nearly forgotten in the moment as he surveyed the area and glanced back towards Sriina. Kaimana had worked hard to scope out the area before today so that they could have a fun excursion together. "We can start in the markets, see if there's anything of interest and then head towards the docks." He had taken the time to even find a local boat that could take them out on the lakes, the Matori hoping to surprise Sriina with some sightseeing along the way. Maybe they would even linger until evening to watch the sunset as it gleamed across the waters...it would be nice to enjoy a peaceful moment like that together, just enjoying the sights with just the two of them.

Sriina 2
Sriina felt like there was something stuck in her throat, her nervousness making her words awkward and stilted. ”I did! It’s nice to be back in familiar settings after so long.” She answered Kaimana. She tried to clear her throat. Her answer sounded so awkward even to her own ears, which was surprising to herself.
She let Kaimana tell her all of the things he had lined up for them and nodded her head, smiling with appreciation toward him. ”That sounds like a good start. I would love to be with you.” She felt her eyebrows raise into her hairline as she realized what she had said and how she had said it. ”I mean - go with you. To the markets… and the docks.” She tried to laugh it off, offering Kaimana one of her hands to hold? Was that too much? ”You lead the way.” She suggested.

Kaimana smiled, his expression bright despite the nervousness. "Right? Nothing like home after a good trip around the world." He added as he thought about the adventures they had while going around from Belrea to even Kahi together. Though any thoughts about their past encounters tumbled to a halt with the admission from Sriina, the tips of the Matori's ears warming at the words as he cleared his own throat to try to hide the embarrassment from how his gaze had snapped right towards her. For someone who had spent years oblivious to flirting and the like, Kaimana sure felt his own heart jump a lot lately. "Ah, yeah. That's good." He managed after a moment, the Matori realizing that there was a bit more to their adventures that they hadn't fully discussed since returning. Still, he could at least try to ease the tension in the air and so Kaimana easily took Sriina's offered hand and laced their fingers together to guide her. "I would love to spend the whole day together." He added as he casually swung their hands a bit, trying to lighten the mood as he started towards the market.
At least the markets were busy and a good distraction from the way his heart had jumped at those words, the rhythm slowly becoming more steady again as Kaimana looked around them. There were stalls for fresh vegetables and fruits, a combination of local and traveling merchants with materials and goods, with even a few selling prepared food with the aromas overtaking the marketplace with the smell of delicious spices. Foreigners also mingled in the market, travelers wandering for supplies before going on new routes towards another country or preparing for the desert route towards Sulburi. "Well, we have options." Kaimana mused, glancing towards Sriina with a small smile. "There's a stand with some accessories like jewelry and such, if you'd like. Actually, is there anything you'd be interested in?" His cheeks warmed again. "Just curious to see what you actually like, just in case you know we ever need rewards or something for our traveling efforts." Because you know...just getting her a gift to express his affection would be far too simple, right? Kaimana nearly shook his head at his own foolishness, how hard could it be to just say it out loud especially after everything?

Sriina 3
The hustle and bustle of the markets were a welcomed sight for Sriina. It had been a long time since they had been this close to home and the air just felt more... familiar. Not relaxing, not with how busy it already was in the day, but at least this was something she was used to.
She gripped Kaimana's hand tighter as they weaved through the market crowds, looking over the odd bits and baubles and taking in the scents of the food vendors. Her stomach seemed to hallow out in response to smelling all of the foods that she had been accustomed to for so long. She would be happy enough to get some later with Kaimana.
His question shocked her. Did she even know what she liked? She thought about it, the strain of coming up with an answer obvious on her face. "Well... I do like necklaces, not overtly gaudy things, but larger for sure. She liked the weight of a single pendent on her chest, or even some dangly bits. Things with flavor, not just jewels for jewels sake. "Hair rings and beads as well. She paused while she continued to think on things.

Oh, had he asked the wrong thing? Kaimana's own gaze flickered with worry as he rubbed a thumb along Sriina's hand as if offering comfort whether for himself or for both of him, the Matori wasn't quite certain. And then the answer came and his expression softened with a warm smile. "That's a good start." He encouraged before his smile brightened even more as he thought about an idea. It wouldn't be a bad idea to share some of his interests to help her maybe think of more, would it? "If it helps I enjoy sketchbooks, starfish and collecting odd looking shells. That was a hobby when I was growing up and we didn't have much to trade with back in our little fishing village, at least." His other hobby involved fighting with snaptrotters, but that was a completely different story even as he had a bonded one waiting back for him at the inn. Kaimana nodded as he let those ideas settle before gently tugging Sriina towards a merchant's stall where some jewelry was displayed. It was there that he spotted a hanging pendant and immediately realized that he could add another thing, even though he hesitated for a moment before looking at his companion. "I also like the color of amber pieces now, they remind me of your eyes." A flush immediately covered his cheeks at the confession and he found himself looking away so that he could reach for the hanging necklaces, his fingers brushing gently across the array of colors and designs. "Is there a color that you like well? Maybe we can pick out a necklace with an engraved pendant for luck on this new venture..."

Sriina 4
Sriina felt the blush creep along her cheeks at Kaimana's confession to liking amber and his newfound reason for it. She couldn't seem to help the smile that pulled at the corner of her lips. Was it bad of her to like to hear out loud that he thought of her and impacted his day to day? "Oh, I... well, I think my favorite color is seafoam green. I always thought is was just so calming, like the shallows back home." She cocked her head to the side, looking over the vendors wares and glancing shyly back to Kaimana. "I like that you like sketchbooks, by the way. I would love to see what you do for fun and not just on our explorations." She admitted.
She wanted to share more of Kaimana's life and likes and wanted to learn more about him.
She shook her head quickly, like the statement had embarrassed her and she needed a hard reset. "But well, I would love a new pendant, something for luck sounds wonderful."
