Current Employment: Student at Hogwarts, session player for the Causeway Hares, founding member of the Mad Rabbits, co-founder and head miniatures designer for Castle Creations
Dream Job: I'd be content to be a musician, and it is my passion; however, being a magical archeologist specializing in the Celtic folk and their artefacts is as well.
Personality:
■ Focused- If I’m doing something I’m really into, I am like zoned out to the rest of the world. Dragon flying by? Sorry, mate, didn’t catch it, I was busy.
■ Loyal- Family is family, mates are mates. It’s that simple, really.
■ Been told by folk I got more guts than brains, take after my mum, I guess. Nothing wrong with a level of bravery, right?
■ When I set my mind to something, I’ll stick it out until it’s done.
■ I have trouble sitting still when I’m bored, so I usually try to have some kind of project going to keep me busy.
■ Confident. I know I can do things, if people would just give me the chance.
Likes:
■ Playing football with my mates. Can’t do that anymore, so I’ll settle for playing Quidditch.
■ Followed the Irish team since I was little cause Mom played for them, and Aunt Hannah too, but they’ve retired from playing now, so I’m a Kenmare supporter these days
■ I really like playing music, and hanging out with the Causeway Hares. I can play guitar (acoustic and electric), fiddle
■ Pizza, although most sorts of pub-grub are good with me too. I’ll try anything with potatoes in it, except cauliflower
■ Celtic rock, folk music, some jazz
Dislikes:
■ Cauliflower tops the list. Don’t care if Linsey’s cooking it, no way I’m touching it.
■ Not being able to play football with my mates. I mean, just because I’m a wizard, its like nope can’t do it. Its like they don’t trust us or something.
■ Sitting through Religion class and Sunday school lessons. They really do love going on about things, don’t they?
■ Being bored; it's frustrating. By the way, did you know fidget-spinners can fly?
■ Not being able to get saves when it really matters in matches. I'm good at practice, but when the chips are down ...
Hobbies:
■ Quidditch
■ Playing guitar and violin, and I’m a good singer. Not sure it qualifies as a hobby anymore, since I'm a paid professional.
■ RPGs and games with model soldiers (they’ll be even cooler once I figure out how to animate them). I'm currently writing my own RPG campaign world based on medieval Ireland.
■ Building and painting miniatures (I've learned how to sculpt and make my own designs)
Strengths:
■ Detail-Oriented, I’m all about getting it right the first time
■ I can adapt to change pretty quickly. I may or may not like it, but I can roll with it.
Weaknesses:
■ Pugnacious (that’s a polite way of saying I’m stubborn)
■ Well, if I’m not otherwise occupied, um, well, my mind starts going in other directions, and that might not go well.
Fears:
■ Spiders
■ The big nasty gales and hurricanes that come off the ocean, the ones that shake the house and rattle the windows. They scare Mum too, so…
Patronus: A grimm
Happy Memory to Summon Patronus: Kissing Rey the first time
Special Abilities:
Animagus Form: Enrolled
Apparation Status: Enrolled
Flying Certification: Yes
Languages:
■ English (Native)
■ Irish (Native) Yes, I can sing comfortably in Irish

History:
Childhood: Finn was born on August 25th, 2051, coming into the world in the manner most of the Greys’ children have over the years. He was born in the Grey Priory, delivered by his great grandmother, Mother Grey in the comforting confines of the Grey Priory, and with the family gathered to witness it. Growing up in a family with a strong magical tradition, Finn became well used to having magic around him from the earliest time in his life. Quidditch and music were also fixtures in his life, as his mother and his aunt were longtime members of the Irish national Quidditch team, and his parents were members of a Celtic rock band known as the Causeway Hares
School Years: As was also traditional, Finn attended the primary school affiliated with the church the Greys have been fixtures of for centuries. Having the family name to live up to, especially given his older cousin, Linsey, was there not so long previously, Finn had to work hard, though it wasn’t all bad, as he also quickly became a fixture of the school’s football (soccer) team.
Shortly after turning ten, Finn started having a series of magical accidents happen take place about him. Thankfully, most of these incidents were harmless and took place away from where Muggles might have seen them. However, one day when he and a girl (Racheal 'Rey' Eir Ross-Heulwen [ne Kinkade]) he was friends with were walking home from the local park, they were approached by a gang of older boys who were planning to beat them up for whatever they had on them.
Somehow, Finn managed to call up what was described later as being a large shaggy-haired black dog, it’s growling and menacing presence causing the older boys to flee in panic. Afterwards, there was no sign of any such dog having been there, and a team of Obliviators were sent to clean up the mess. Much to Finn’s disappointment, he was homeschooled the rest of the school year, causing him to lose his spot on the football team. However, it was shortly into the summer he received his letter from Hogwarts…

First Year: Well things were off and running right out of the gate, getting Sorted into the very same House as me own mum. That was definitely aces in my book, as was getting the chance to fly fer her old squad at school. In my case, I plumped fer the job of Keeper, as they needed one. I kept Ella company when Linsey opened the Art Club, and I got to see the dragon Mom created for her NEWT for myself and got to see ol' George fly around the Art Room. I also joined the Music Club, which means I have some place to keep up my practice, although I was annoyed Dad wouldn't let me bring the violin and all my guitars to school, as Dad said I'm here to study magic not music.
One grand surprise was finding out Ella can play piano, and she can sing, and the three of us had an impromptu jam session one evening, when Ella forgot to show up to supper. One major downer came when it came to playing Quidditch, as we got swept in our three matches this term. The last game felt as though we were about to get relegated like an inferior football team. However, what was most important was I got through my first year just fine, and had solid grades to show for my efforts, and didn't need to bother Linsey overly much for help.
Second Year: Well, over the summer I was keeping pretty busy, as there was the big art and music festival in Waterford, where the Causeway Hares cut a live album where my performances popped up on several tracks, as well as the summer tour, and the formation of our impromptu association of second-generation Hares, informally known as the 'Mad Rabbits', which Linsey is a part of, and she drew up the logo we use. I invited Rey to come to show the show, but she couldn't owe to there was no way her mom her could afford to bring the other kids with her. Rey's had a rough time of it since her adopted father was murdered in a pharmacy hold-up gone very wrong.
Turns out, Rey's a witch, and she didn't find that one out until Miss Nora showed up on her doorstep with her letter. An arrangement was made so that Rey would come with us to the Hogwarts Express, while her foster family was visited by the Obliviators (the 'Men in the Black Coats' she calls them), as they were giving her up. As far as most folk at church and in town know, Rey never existed, or at least, she was never here. All she had in the world was her cat, as everybody else who ever loved her was dead or mindwiped. Well, we made sure she got to Hogwarts, and Linsey took Rey under her wing, like she's done with so many others at school.
Of further interest is not only is Linsey Head Girl, but Ella's brother has transferred to Hogwarts and she lobbied to have him be an extra Prefect for Ravenclaw, and he's a Chaser on their Quidditch team, and he and Linsey have been getting awfully...friendly. She's also joined me in Music Club, noting she'd sat in on meetings before, and often visited the Music Room, so it was only logical for her to actually join the club for her final year at school. What's nice is I have somebody to play music with who can back me up on songs, as she learned to play acoustic guitar over the past year, and she bought a sweet Gibson when she was in the United States.
It was hard coming back to Quidditch after the perfect season of futility we endured last year, no wins and no goals to show for our efforts, and I was hoping Nare had a way to break the losing streak we were in. It helped that I like Nare, she's nice and she's pretty, that smile, and her hair do much to inspire confidence. Then Brianna Quinn-Smith danged near shoved a Quaffle down my throat in the first match, and all the Ravenclaw Chasers took turns, Serghei included, lobbing shots at my goals. I didn't make my first official save until the last game of the season, not that it mattered by that point, the season was already lost. Between Seb and I, we are the owners of a six-game, two-season losing streak (dunno if I should laugh, cry or throw up about that); the House hasn't won a match since somebody named Aria League was Captain (maybe we can get her to come back). I'm not sure they'll let me back on the team next year, and I wouldn't blame them if they didn't.
Of course, the big event this year was the Carnivale organized by Linsey and the rest of the prefects. I performed on all three nights of the event, as Linsey arranged for the Mad Rabbits to have their debut show on that Friday, Saturday was the Music Club talent show, and then with the Causeway Hares on Sunday night. The Adventurer's Guild performed a LARP for the audience, with costumes and props, and I did stuff with the Art Club and the Quidditch team as we worked to build interest in these activities. It was a lot of work and a bunch of fun.
Here it is at the end of the term, Linsey's graduated from school, Rey has a new family, Serghei is not only dating my cousin, but he's playing for the Kestrals now. I'm going on tour with the Hares, so I know what'll I be doing, but there's so many questions I've got about next year. Not the least of which is who'll back me up in Music Club, and will I play Quidditch?
Third Year: Summer went by at a whirl with the tour and everything. I've also got hooked up with a historical reenactors club specializing in the period that I paint miniatures for, the Irish Rebellion of the mid-Seventeenth Century. Because of my involvement, when the time came to put together a costume for the school-wide Halloween party the staff was sponsoring (probably because it was a less involved business than Linsey's Carnivale), I was already set, complete with sword and a prop matchlock pistol.
Coming back to school without Linsey, and Blannat of course, just didn't feel right. Mind you, I never imposed upon her time (although she was coaching me and Rey for our Quidditch matches, even the ones we were playing against her), and I never leaned on her like Els seemed to, but I felt lost without her there heading up our little family group. On the plus side, I got the chance to get the pick of the litter before leaving for school, and have Nera one of Lugh's grandpups, one of the first litter sired by Blannat. He's a wriggly little fellow, all head, tail and paws, and he's going to need training up if he's to be as useful as Linsey's companion. Right now, he's small enough I can carry him around, but I am very much aware he won't stay that way for long.
That Nic took Seb and I back on the Quidditch team was surprising, but then he really hadn't many better choices. I ended up sticking with it out of a sense of loyalty and wanting to avoid the shame of walking out on my House and my mates. The season was a slow-motion train wreck as it developed into one of perfect futility for the third year in a row. Worse, during the pickup game they set up to boost Seb's confidence (and don't tell me it was otherwise), I watched Rey put up more defensive stops than I had in my whole time here. With the season finally over, I'm debating whether to return or not. Seb's thinking if we have another season like this that'll be it for him, and I may follow suit; at that point four years of ego-drubbing is plenty enough. However, its not all bad, Serghei is planning to help me train over the summer when he isn't busy with the Kestrals.
Fourth Year: We finally won a friggin Quidditch match, it was the last one of the year, after the point where winning a match would have mattered, but we actually ended up in second place behind Ravenclaw in the Cup standings. I am so happy for Seb, since he takes every loss so personally, but I couldn't find it in my heart to be happy for myself. It's hard to explain other than I felt I hadn't done anything to earn a celebration. Right now, I have some long hard thinking about whether I'm coming back to the team next term.
Shortly after the start of summer, I received my usual supplies list from school, and in with it was a Prefect badge. Mom and Dad were extremely pleased, especially since she never got any sort of recognition for any of her efforts in school. Hannah and Linsey are giving me great advice on how to be a Prefect and what it all means, while Aunt Lynn has been coaching me as well, although with her it's all about being an exemplar and the school's traditions and honour which need upholding and making sure rules-breakers are dealt with quickly and efficiently. By her words, one would think ol' Godric Gryffindor himself might rise from the grave to smite me if I failed in my duties. Um, yikes.
Fifth Year: Well, the year started with getting the prefect badge in the Post with my supplies list and getting coached by everyone in the family who was a prefect before me. I spent my summer touring with the Causeway Hares, doing session gigs with the Mad Rabbits, and getting involved with our local history preservation society. Got a real thrill being part of a historical reenactment of a battle that took place not far from our house during one of the Irish Rebellions.
Over the summer, Kasamir Patrovna and I worked out a deal where the Adventurer's Guild makes its own miniatures and sells the extras down at the Hobbit Hideout. We have founded Castle Creations, and we plan to have other members of the club submit designs that we will make and sell on a limited basis. Kasamir commissioned me to build ship and character miniatures for his long-running Traveller campaign based on the designs he worked out. The other big event was my decision to stay on the Quidditch team, partly because it wouldn't look right if I were to bail now, and partly because Linsey told me there was no way that I could sit in the stands and not want to be a part of what was going on, and that I would feel guilty if they were to win the Cup and I wasn't there. No way could I look Seb and Roxy in the eyes and tell them no.
This was the start of Roxie's last year at the school, and I really think we worked harder because we didn't want her final campaign to end as a disaster like every other since before I came to Hogwarts. She arranged for me to get extra coaching, which helped a lot, but it still doesn't hide the truth that Rey and I were the only ones to give up goals this year, and we were the ones who handed Slytherin the Cup. We came in second, but knowing this hurts, hurts like hell.
Rey. She's been a part of my life for so long, it's hard to think of not having her around. I would look forward to walking her home from school every day. Somewhere, somewhen, don't ask me to pinpoint it, because I couldn't do it if I tried, and I'm not so sure I would care to know, 'like' became something else. I finally plucked up the courage to tell her my feelings when we were waiting for Roxie and the others on that pitch, and to ask her to the dance. She cried. She cried when I told her everything and couldn't fathom why it was her. The answer was that it was always her, and nobody else. She was a vision in blue when I came to the door to take her to the dance, and I got to dance with the prettiest girl at the ball.
Well, having figured out a career path, I know now I have a lot of work to do, having three years of catch-up to do. Aunt Lynn has told me she's taking me on as an apprentice as part of a work-study. Should I be worried when she says things like 'The sands of Egypt beckon ...'?
