Knowing Riya had no class today, Ergon had actually planned to surprise her by staying home from work that day. Still, he was a creature of habit. Even on days off, he made sure to get himself presentable. He had just pulled on a clean undershirt to start getting dressed when he heard Riya call out. He looked down at himself in his undershirt and pajama bottoms.. Well, he could see what she wanted before he finished dressing. "What is it?" he called back as he left the room to seek out his wife.

Ergon's brow rose with interest at the tone in Riya's voice. He smiled encouragingly and reached out to take her hands to give them a squeeze. "Actually, I made sure things at the store are covered for today. I had been hoping for the same thing." It really had been a while since they'd been able to have any time for just the two of them. It was well overdue. "Did you have something in particular in mind for us?"

Oh! She really did have the day planned out! It was a relief, really. He'd had no plan at all... Ergon chuckled and raised their joined hands to press kisses to Riya's fingers. "That sounds like a great day," he assured. "Would you like help getting breakfast ready?"

They really were overdue for a day to themselves. Though he already knew it, seeing Riya so excited to get going just drive the point home. He would need to make sure she got something extra from the day as well! "Whatever I want, hmm?" In the kitchen, he peeked into the cupboards and the ice box as he deliberated over the very important decision of breakfast. "Let's do... heh, let's go wild. Poached eggs, toast, crisped roati, fruit, and oats with extra brown sugar." He looked over to Riya and smiled playfully. "And, hot cider to drink." The guy sure knew how to let loose.

Ergon grinned and shrugged lightly before he gave her waist a squeeze. "I think it sounds quite fitting for a special off day." They could take their time eating since there was nothing for either of them to rush off to. Honestly, that alone was a tantalizing thought.

Since he'd offered to help, he went ahead and grabbed up the bundle of roati meat from the ice box. He wanted to make sure it was sliced perfectly for frying up; not so thin that it had no substance, but not so thick that it would take forever to cook. He also grabbed the pan they would use to gently heat up the cider.

"I can get it," he assured lightly. Once he'd finished, he set the sliced meat near the fire so that it would be ready to put on at the right time. He took a moment to clean the blade properly before he picked out a few pieces of fresh fruit to cut up. The fruit was artfully displayed on a plate and set onto the table. Time to cook!

Having the large cooking space and abundant cooking wares came quite in handy with these fuller meals. He was grateful to have the wealth-full background that he did. It allowed him to make sure their house was well stocked with food and high quality household tools. While their house wasn't exactly the grandest of the town, the family was more than comfortable within its walls.

He nodded with agreement as he paused to inhale the delicious scents filling the room. The kitchen was the cornerstone of many a home for a reason! It wasn't often that he was around for such a rounded out breakfast, usually out the door off to work before the boys even dragged themselves out of bed.

Just barely out of bed himself, he looked down at himself at the compliment. Pajama pants and an undershirt... "I haven't even combed my hair yet," he replied with a rather bashful laugh. On that note, his hand rose to comb his fingers through his hair a couple times to subconsciously fix that lacking step in his usual morning habits.
