It's so nice to have a parent that is just loaded and doesn't care, but also it's just nice to know she basically has three parents instead of one.
Sahara sat on the floor with a book, she was rereading one of her favorite series. Her hand reached up onto the bed periodically to grab some snack. She looked up at her best friend's question and thought about briefly before marking her page.
“Sounds good to me. I'm guessing that means Switch games tonight. The Xbox is in Evers room now, not that he'd care if we use it.”
She hopped up straightening her nightgown, put her book on the nightstand and heading for the door. “Come on, I want to trounce you before Ever gets home and beats us both.”
“Eh, Xbox means we're playing Halo or Call of duty zombies and I don't think you would be up for either.” She slipped off of the bed, fixing her pj shorts. She was also trying to avoid Ever as much as she could right now anyway. She might have come to terms with her crush on her other best friend but that didn't mean she felt like acting all…Weird around him, something she tends to do whether she's aware of it or not. The red head snorted, “Trounce me?! Girl please you know I am the queen of Mario party.”
She opened the door, making her way towards the livingroom with her friend. “You want pizza delivered?”
“Nope,” said Hara with a laugh. “You and Ever can play those things when he gets home and I’ll read my book.” She smirked and happily made her way down the steps and into the living room. She plopped down on the couch, sitting back, turning the TV on and switching the input.
“Im down for pizza,” she said bringing up Mario Cart, “you know where the menu’s are.”
She took the opportunity to pick Princess Peach and start figuring out her car while she waited. “I want mushrooms on my half and make sure you get Ever one with the alfredo sauce … you know the one.”
“I mean is Ever going to even BE home ontime?” Annie grabbed a menu from the kitchen, pulling up the app on her phone. “Half mushrooms half pepperoni….The one with the alfredo sauce? You mean Philly cheese stake?” That's the only one she could think of that would have white sauce on it. “Or do you mean chicken alfredo pasta?” She was actually excited to play CoD or Halo with Ever if he didn't get home too late. “Soda or naw?”
She made her way over to the couch, picking Waluigi for her character, customizing his kart for maximum speed. “We should start with rainbow road first.” She was sure Hara would get a couple points ahead of her for the grand prix but she could catch up in no time.,~
“The philly cheesesteak or the chicken and mushroom alfredo pizza, he just likes the alfredo sauce, so either is fine,” she said looking at her
best friend. “No soda, I can put some tea on and we’ve got some Pellegrino in the fridge, among other things, but if you really want some that's cool.”
“Up for a challenge right out of the gate,” Sahara said before raising a brow at her friends, “seems sus.” She laughed and picked the rainbow road. “Alright ready for me to smoke you on the rainbow road?”
She looked at her phone lighting up briefly but didn't really pay much heed to it, as she was sure it was just her brother texting he was on his way home.
“Ever’s coming,” she said, not looking away from the screen.
Pellegrino!? That beats soda any day!
“Okay gottcha!” She put in the order in on her app, and watched the pizza tracker move for a little while. “Rainbow road is my favorite you know that, besides I've been practicing whenever I go to dad's.” She loved the fact that her father basically had an arcade in his home. Whenever she visits she plays games with him or her little brother. “You should see his face each time he loses, it's hilarious.” Her dad pitched the best fits ever and it was funny to watch her step mom come in and look at him like he had grown a new head.
Hara mentioned that Ever was on his way home and fought not to sit up straighter or ask how many minutes away he was. “Okay.” Was all she could say on that subject. Looks like she would be playing CoD after all tonight. That was the reasoning behind why she was stupidly excited and tingly….Butterflies? Hell yeah because she was going to kick his a** for once! “Ready to lose bestie?”
“I cant imagine you dad pitching a temper tantrum because he lost, but I guess with a setup like that one would expect to never lose.” She grinned because it was something to imagine especially Rose’s reaction. That woman was something.
“Come on now, we can get two round in before the pizza gets here and before Ever joins in and starts stomping all over our scores.”
She watched the countdown and grinned when the start of the race sounded and she took off reflexes like lightning.
She got her license but she wasnt good enough to try actually racing like Annie. Mario cart is was for her, she knew Annie wasnt going let her potentially ruin her car.
“Right?! But it's happened a couple of times, especially with Call of Duty.” He does end up kicking her a** the next round caus anger but it was still hilarious to watch. “Yeah yeah I'm going!” She took off when the race started, twisting and turning with the wheel she had, cursing when Hara got her with a stupid green shell. “Oh you know I hate it when you do that!” She was laughing the entire time, getting her bestie with the lightning powerup. She was going to maybe beat hara, and then she would stomp on Ever and do a victory dance.
However her plans went awry when it seemed like Hara won BOTH rounds and she was left thinking how the hell she managed to do that. “This is just not fair!” The doorbell rang and she hopped up to answer it, taking the pizza and closing the door. “Hara my shorts are okay right?” Granted they were a bit high but that gave that delivery dude no right to stare as long as he did. She set the pizza down and checked her behind in the mirror. Yeah, there was some cheek peeking but not enough to just be like…All noticeable and s**t. Eh whatever, guys are weird.
“Haraaaa pizzzaaaa”
Hara was laughing as she won the second round and gave her best friend a s**t eatting grin. The doorbell rang and Sahara was surprised that Annie went to answer in her pajamas.They werent exactly covering much, so when she asked if her shorts were okay Hara gave her friend an incredulous look.
She watched Annie check her shorts and raised a brow before her best friend seemed to get over it. She hopped up and went to grab the pellegrino. “Lets eat in the living room, its pizza, so were good.”
She grabbed a couple plates for them and headed back into the living room, looking up as the door opened. She looked to Annie to suggest pants as Ever walked into the living.
Ever walked into the house hanging his keys up and sitting his bag down. He sat and pulled his shoes off, lining them up with everyone else. “Hara you're lucky… You didn't answer my text, but I still picked up you book anyway. Your welcome …”
He walked into the living room seeing his sister then getting an eyefull, “ …. uh Annie … why dont you have any pants on.”
He sighed shaking his head before going to grab a slice of pizza they were munching on.
“Sure thing~” Annie was already eating a slice of her pizza when Ever walked in through the door. She didn't really pay him any attention till he asked why she wasn't wearing pants. “What? They're shorts Ever, I don't need pants.” She said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. First that stupid delivery man and now Ever, what the ******** would she have to do? Wear sweats over her shorts? She would get too hot then so no she wasn't about to do that. “Are you playing mario kart with us?” She wasn't about to tell him about her agenda to beat his a** since that would jinx her, “Hara already beat my a** but that was a warm up so it didn't count.”
Ever looked to Hara when Annie claimed she was wearing short and spouted in french, “on what planet.” His sister rolled her eyes at him, but their friend was delulu if she thought those panties qualified as shorts. He grabbed another slice of pizza and shook his head.
“Those aren’t shorts, but you do you,” he said before plopping down on the couch, holding his hand out for a controller which his sister happily provided.”
“Thirty minutes … the squad is expecting me to get on tonight.”
Hara frowned and rolled her eyes at her brother, but she had to agree, “boy shorts and shorts are not really the same thing … though I certainly have seen shorts before that leave nothing to the imagination.”
When her brother sat down she handed him a controller and started laughing, “stop trying to be cool, since when do you say squad. Ridiculous, pick a character, so Annie can continue her warm up.” She emphasised the last part with air quotes laughing.
“Im taking every round tonight.”
Annie sighed when she heard them speaking french. If their older sister was here then she would happily translate. BUT since Ash was busy with her studies, there would be no translating happening. She deadpanned at Ever and rolled her eyes, “Just don't look then. Dunno what to tell you.” Wait…only thirty? That wasn't fair. She looked at her other best friend with somewhat of a pout. “They can't wait or something?” She kind of wanted to play with them but at least expected Ever to play with her and Hara for at least an hour. “I mean, I CAN go find my basketball shorts after this if it means you will both stop discussing it.” This was how she always dressed when relaxing at home, her dads, anywhere really. She could even recall the couple of times she's done it here so why is it a big deal now?
“My warm up was before Ever got here. Now I'm about to beat BOTH your asses!” Did she just jinx herself? Probably, but whatever, she was going to win then go put on her basketball shorts and play CoD with Ever and the “Squad” as he liked to call it. That really was cheesy though.
Ever shrugged, “like I said, you do you. If you want to give everyone an eye full, by all means. He gave her smirk and boldly winked at her, before turning back to the game.
“Oh hush Hara, you're just mad because the only friend you have is Annie. Now less smack talking and more racing. We’re racing Ninja Hideway, first, you guys can pick the next.”
He sat back and got comfortable, “no Annie, I cant just leave them waiting on me. We planned this last week, but they won’t care if you join in … just try not to shoot Kenny on purpose … again.” He was an a**, but they lost because of that. Hara of course took that moment to cheat, starting the race, making Ever have to hurry and redirect his focus.
“No cheating you little a**.”
Annie could not stop her face from turning red, narrowing her eyes and rolling them. Had Hara not been there she would’ve shown him what counted as an eyeful. But because her bestie was here she wasn't about to scar her. Ewww ninja hideaway? “Why cant we do the donkey kong level or something? I hate the ninja one…” She settled anyway, laughing when Hara decided to cheat as she usually does, taking off after her. “And Kenny deserved it! My K/D was much higher than his and yet he still wanted to talk s**t. “ She moved her kart around a sharp turn, drifting to get her boost. “Not my fault I had to show him his place~ Oh got damn it Hara!” She got hit with a red shell, more determined than ever to at least kick one of her besties asses.
“I brought dad’s Xbox and extra tv, that way we can play online matchmaking and the boys don't have to worry about me kicking their asses.”
Sahara was focused while her best friend and brother were fussing at each other, so of course she was winning. She grinned when she hit Annie with a red shell. “Well Ms. Battle … if you two would stop bickering and flirting, you might win.” She stuck her tongue out of them, just as her brother got her with a banana peel.
“Ever! You're going to pay for that. I'm still winning!”
Ever smirked, “You guys get to pick the next one, this level is mine. Eat my dust Annie.” He frowned at his sisters words and decided to trip her up, passing and laughing as she tried to get him back, but he was the best at this course, so got a bit ahead of them.
He leaned forward getting more into the race, but that didn't mean he couldn't multitask. “Yeah I know he deserved it, but next time wait for a versus game and then trounce him. But yeah, you can set up everything and join in. I'm sure Hara would love more time to finish her book.”
He grinned at his sister as he got a power up, “bye y'all.”
Flirting? That was NOT what she was doing thank you.
Annie rolled her eyes, “Bickering sure…We do that all the time Hara.” She decided to use the blue shell since she was close to last place, laughing when it hit Ever. That gave Hara a chance to pass him and her a chance to catch up. “What was that about eating dust Ever?” She smirked and kept it pushing, making her way into seventh place from 12th. . She knew that blue shell was a lucky hit and very much took advantage of it. She wasn't expecting him to get a damned rainbow star though, which put him right the ******** back into first place.
“Oh got damn it!”
The red head growled at the thought of being nice to stupid a** Kenny, “Sure. I'll beat his a** either way so I'm game.” They would need her sniping skills anyway.
Ever cut his eyes at Annie, and if looks could kill, well Annie would be damn close. Ever was never overly competitive, but since he’d picked up playing more video game he seemed more so than ever before. He grinned when he got rainbow star and he was able to easily make his way back to the front. He made short work of the rest of the round then and gave the girls a smug look.
“Im the mario kart king,” he said laughing before getting up to grab another slice of pizza. “You two pick the next track, after that Im going for a quicky shower.” He’d been out all day and he knew he was going to crash hard after CoD so he needed to shower before.
Sahara was more amused by her brother and best friend who were more in competition with each other than with her. She easily maintained her place and she wasn't too worried about her brother beating her. Overall she had the highest scores, but she supposed that wasn't hard as it's the only game she really played.
“I don't really care which track, you can pick Annie. Ive played them all one million times. Just pick a good one since we will be headed back upstairs in a moment.”
Annie didn't even see the look Ever gave her, otherwise she would have stuck her tongue out at him. She did roll her eyes though when he announced that he was the mario king. “Yeah yeah go shower, you stink.~” Once Ever went to the bathroom, Annie tapped her chin to think of what course she wanted to try next. “Let's do twisted mansion next. That one might actually throw your brother for a loop.” After that she would go find her shorts and set up everything in Ever’s room for some call of duty.
Ever frowned when she said he stunk actually sniffing himself before sticking his tongue out at her. “I don’t stink you a**.” It seemed he’d be showering before the round and frowned because Annie had the worst selective hearing. He rolled his eyes and headed up the stairs, taking them two at a time. “You might as well do a round without me. Gimme 15 minutes,” he called back down the steps.
Sahara shook her at the pair and got up to put the pizza away and get some more Pellegrino for the three of them. “Nah, he never takes short showers … lets just go get everything set up. He said 15 minutes, but he’s going to take 30 for sure and I bet his friends are going to fuss him out for being late.”
