Quote: Prompt 5 (Ice Bath): Rainfall is rare in Destiny City during Winter; there have been a few light showers between the occasional snow but it’s never been enough to be significant. In some places, it’s just enough for a thin layer of ice to cover the ground and make it a little slippery, but ultimately it’s not enough to worry about. In an inconspicuous place in town, you step into one of these icy puddles and the thin layer of ice shatters. The hole itself seems maybe three feet wide and if you’ve ever been in the area before you know it’s just a pothole a few inches deep at most. Except, when the ice shatters, you fall, plummeting into it as if it were a lake of icy water. It’s pitch black around you and only pale blue lights shimmer above you. The darkness is never ending and you can’t make out the details of anything except the shrinking hole above you. Maybe you remember how to swim and pull yourself out, maybe you black out and feel someone else pulling you out--either way, your frozen, soaking body is pulled from the puddle. The chill is immense, but if you look at the hole after being pulled out, all you can see is the ground below. There’s no sign that what you just experienced is real--except for the fact that you’re still soaking wet.
Mirror travel was…delightful, honestly. Of course, the feeling of someone on the side of order as she stepped out was…discouraging but…
It was nothing compared to what happened next…
And that was the ground crumbling beneath her feet and icy water closing around her
“What the–”
Oh god. Was this magic? Of course it had to be magic.
Flailing slightly, Leona managed to get herself out of the…water? The hole in the ground.
She was shivering, and looked back down at the…at the…
At nothing. There was nothing on the ground but. Her head snapped up and when she saw the blue clad girl, she reacted without hesitation. “Shifting Cold!”
There was no way she was going to let this stand. If she was being attacked. When the attack hits an opponent, they feel very cold, and the ground beneath them shakes and may crack slightly, throwing them off balance. The cold lasts for thirty seconds, and the shaking for twenty. She can hit two opponents, at a range of ten feet. The attack can be used twice.

Was that a senshi? Almere thought it was a senshi. She was getting better at telling senshi apart from knights, and agents, and all of the other categories she was supposed to know, like youma. Not that she would have mistaken a senshi for a youma even that very first night that she'd been awakened, but now she really wouldn't. This one was in black, though, which was usually a bad sign, and she looked wet, and cold, and angry. This wasn't far from where she'd fallen into that puddle a few days ago. Maybe something had- She didn't have time to think about it, because the senshi was saying something about cold, and as she said it Almere got very cold, very fast. She was shivering, and she felt the ground crack again, making her squeak and jump away. Was this girl the one who was making those puddles? "What? I-" She faltered, but then she stood taller, eyes narrowing even as she shook. She was a Knight. She had to be brave. Her fingers curled around her spoon. "I'll fight you if I have to," she said.

“I th-think you had better fight. How dare you just…just make ice like that…”
Leona’s teeth were chattering slightly and she pointed at the Page, clearly angry. “You can’t…can’t just make…cold a**…p-puddles! That’s awful, you’ll end up killing someone! I wasn’t even doing anything wrong! It was just c-cold and I wanted to make my trip a bit shorter. There was no need to be such a bi-b***h!”
If only she could power down…that would at least fix the issue of the wet clothes…her poor overlay was dripping and stuck to her legs.
“If this f-freezes against my legs I’m going to be so…so pissed…”

I think you had better fight, said the senshi, and Almere was brave. She didn't hesitate. She stabbed out with her spoon. And then, the next moment, she was sorry. "Puddles?" she asked. "Is that why you're mad?" She'd though she had made the puddles? That didn't make much sense, since out of the two of them, she wasn't the one with ice magic, but she didn't have time to think much about that 'cause they were both really emotional right now. She was gonna have to talk fast. "I didn't make those, I'm just a Page! I don't even have magic," she said. Well, she could transform and go to space, but, "No battle magic."

Leona’s eyes narrowed and she crossed her arms over her chest in a poor attempt to warm herself. “You…you d-didn’t do it? Then…who…who did?”
Damnit…she was so cold.
Finally she grunted and held her hand out. “Stay…s-stay here. I want to talk but I just…”
Slipping back through the mirror, she made it out somewhere that there were no signatures, and quickly dropped her henshin and powered back up, going back into the mirror and exiting through the one she had found the Page in.
“...Okay…now that I’m…not freezing anymore…”
She shivered once more and shook her head. “...You swear it wasn’t you? With the puddles?”

Almere waited patiently. If this was all a misunderstanding, she didn't want to do something that was going to make the other girl even more upset. What she saw was the girl walking through a mirror. She blinked, and then blinked again. People could do that? She knew there were all kinds of magic things going on, but she hadn't seen that one yet. Could she walk through a mirror? What would even be on the other side? Was it a different dimension, one where everything was flipped around and maybe just a little bit off? She put her own fingertips on the mirror, wanting to go see for herself, to at least see how it worked even if she wasn't going anywhere for the moment, but the mirror's surface didn't ripple for her like it had for the senshi. Did she have to get stronger first, or did it just not work for knights? Anyway, she had to pull her hand away fast as the girl came back through, asking about who had mad the puddles. "I don't know," said Almere, "But there's other weird things going on, too. I've seen penguins, I've seen rabbits made out of ice. Everyone else I've talked to seems confused about it, too, so I don't think it's some senshi-slash-knight thing."

“Well. I don’t like it, and I want to find out who thinks that it’s okay, and I want to punch that person in their face.” Leona crossed her arms over her chest again and then hesitated, thinking for a moment before holding her hand out towards the Page.
“My name is Leona. I’m the Dark Mirror Senshi of Cryoseism…which is like. Ice earthquakes. As…I’m sure that you’ve noticed…but the harsh reality is. I ******** hate the cold…so. It’s kind of rude. And my whole fuku is just…not winter ready…I don’t understand who I pissed off in the costuming department, you feel?”
If she didn’t feel, that was fine. Leona was dry, and somewhat warmer, and her bad temper was rapidly deserting her…which. Was nice.

Almere didn't think she felt.The parts of her outfit that weren't black were in pastel shades of blue and lavender. The whole thing made her look like a princess, or maybe even a queen? She looked like a magician, too, the way senshi always did, and she said her magic was ice earthquakes, which seemed amazing and pretty and powerful and kind of scary. Almere didn't think she had anything she needed to complain about. "I think your outfit is really pretty?" she said, not really knowing how much more she should try to say. "Um. I'm going to go home now I think, but if I find who's pushing people into puddles?" She made a fist and mimed punching.

Leona hesitated and nodded. “Yeah. Yeah I’m going to go home too. Your outfit is pretty too. You’re like a little Cinderella. I like it.”
Turning away, she paused and then looked back over her shoulder. “Look. I’m sorry for attacking you. I thought that. You had attacked me and I retaliated…but I’ll try to withhold such actions in the future. I’m not a monster, and clearly you’re not either. Get home safe, and if you do find out, punch them right in the nose. They’re obviously an a*****e.”
Giving a small smile, she shrugged again. “Take care.” She didn’t know the girl’s name but. That was fine. She didn’t need to.
…She doubted that they would run into one another again…and if they did…
Hopefully there would be no more cold dunkings.
