Sometimes they come out of nowhere--overnight, or in the timespan of just a few short hours. Sometimes, only minutes. Snow falls rapidly and ice coats doors and windows, sealing them shut. These snow flurries are knocking out power, and worse--trapping people in buildings and cars. Sheets of frosty ice build up quickly and have caused major inconveniences. But, it’s not all bad, if you can find a way to appreciate the small things. After these flurries, in addition to the fresh snow and ice, beautiful flowers in the shape of snowflakes have sprouted up, too. They grow in small patches and permeate a pleasant, sweet fragrance. They can grow on any surface, as long as it is covered in snow or ice. If the flowers are not kept in freezing temperatures, they melt, but for the duration of their lifespan they are beautiful, fragile things. Once again, it was quite slow at the cafe due to the weather. Holland was attending the cafe by himself today since Daisy couldn't come in. "Sooooo boreddddddd...." He was on his phone looking at tiktok when an idea popped up in his head. He sent a text to Theo to see if he was too busy to stop by with his fur child. The kitten looked too cute and he wanted to meet him, this would be the only way unless he tried to ask Theo about coming to his house, which he thought it would be okay... But also he's been feeling some type of way ever since that incident with DJ Buster. Now he already knew that he was indeed pansexual, but what bothered or rather made him feel strange was the fact that he didn't mind the DJ being on top of him at all...Which only made him frown more because usually HE was the one on top and preferred it that way. Then he thought about that stupid brown corrupt senshi, blushing at the fact that he wouldn't mind topping him just to at least establish dominance. He was so sick of the a*****e calling him small, kid, lil insert insult here, etc. Bet if he quite literally "T" posed on him he wouldn't call him a kid at that point. He shook his head. Maybe he would need to make his way over to Daisy's after this shift.... It was when the brown senshi was replaced with Theo that he REALLY started to try and busy himself by cleaning spots that were already cleaned. Oh hey look! Daisy did an amazing job with the festive decorations...There was even a mistletoe in one of the more secluded corners of the cafe....How romantic? Or scary? He couldn't tell.

After alot of bribing and convincing and promises of good food, Theo managed to convince his Mauvian, Chip, to come with him to the cafe as asked. Over all, despite the holiday season, Theo was just living a life of no plans, no relationships to nurture, just nothing at all. So all he had was time to spend. The very idea that someone wanted to see him was mindblowing, and Chip teased him about it too. Not *meanly*, but hey, it had been 3 or more years since he had a friend, so he wanted to leave whomever this mystery friend was with the BEST impression! So while yes, he was shoved into the inside of Theo's coat, he wore a cute little Christmas hat and bowtie. As soon as Theo got that text, he sent a pic of his little Chip, then said he was on his way, and hoped they still had that chai. It was FRIDGID outside, the snow was kicking up super fast, and by the time he arrived at the cafe, he was more than a little frosted-tipped. If his hair wasn't already a creamy white color, he would have been fully covered up by now. But he made it, safe and sound, with a kitten all snuggled up within his layers. "Hey guys!" Unlike the last three times he had been here, Theo atleast seemed more chipper, less awkward and uncomfortable. It probably helped that he had his literal emotional support cat on him. How could he be unhappy when he had his lil son with him? "It's ******** cold outside. Ya'll doing okay in here?"

Holland hear the bell ring at the cafe door, about to give his usual greeting till he spotted who it was "THEO!!!!!" He was instantly coming from around the counter, waving excitedly. The picture he sent of chip was so stinkin cute! He couldn't wait to see the little baby in person. He made sure to keep the bubble thing in mind no matter how much he wanted to hug him, giving an excited nod, "Yeah! Just fine~ Daisy is off today so I'm just by myself. Its been pretty boring since I opened..." He took in Theo's appearance, giggling at the bit of snow that got caught in his hair. "Have a seat? I have some fresh chai for you and a sandwich as well~" He was thinking about closing early since its been pretty dead. Maybe he could take Theo to his house for a visit? His car was pretty nice in the snow and he had on tire chains. Plus cute little chip could play around in a more cat friendly environment. "What would lil Chip like?" He hopped the kitten would let him hold him.

Oh god he came up FAST! Theo almost took a step back, but he had become atleast a little familiar with Holland's excitement so it was only a half flinch more than anything else. "She's not here? That's wild, I honestly thought she lived here, heh..." It was an awkward laugh, but small talk one-on-one was never his strong suit. Atleast before Daisy was here with a chat here or there to break the awkwardness... Now Holland's energy was just BOOM, there. A little bit of freedom was given, so he nodded along and went to the table in the corner. Something was familiar above some of those tables... But he only half gave it some mind as he sat down and pulled out Chip from his pocket. The kitten was just... Limp. Not dead, not at all! But clearly terribly full and in a food coma. Right before they left, Chip had dove into a bag of M&M's, and now just... conked out. Cleaned, sleepy, absolutely adorable, but kinda lifeless as Theo poked at his paws. Only a little snore was given now and then, occasionally almost human-like murmurs... But over all, just a sleepy lil boy. "The snow is way too heavy. I almost didn't make it here. But I don't like to lie or break promises I made so... I still wanted to see you too, you know? So... Yeah. I'm here. But Chip doesn't need anything. The Lil s**t just ate way too much before we left. He's in a food coma right now. But thanks."

Holland laughed, "Yeah I managed to convince Daisy that I can handle the cafe on my own." To be honest this was the best time for him to put this in practice, boss would be back in the third week of January from visiting family in Seoul, seeing him run the cafe efficiently without his co-worker would show that she could trust him with more complicated things if she needed him to. Once the chai and sandwich was complete, Holland made his way back to where Theo would be, setting everything down at the table. He noticed the limp kitten, almost panicking till he saw the steady rise and fall of his side. Oh...Food comas were allowed. He sat down playing with the cute kitten's paws. "Awwweee he's so cute...." Holland did perk up when Theo mentioned that he wanted to see him, he looked so happy, but also blushed juuuust a bit. "Im glad you came to see me then~" he looked up briefly then swallowed. Whyyy Daisy?! Maybe if he didn't bring it up Theo wouldn't notice? Yep, the mistletoe was not there, in fact one of Chip's little kitten paws twitched! Wasn't that so cute?!

"Damn, you want more responsibility? Why? Isn't it easier to just cruise along?" Theo was def that person who only gave the bare minimum when it came to life, being a civilian OR powered. Going the extra mile was non-existent in his vocabulary, mainly because nothing seemed worth it. Nothing seemed worth trying for, except maybe his little child who was batting at Holland's fingers in his sleep before rolling over to put his little head in the smaller boy's palm. "Shuuush, don't let him hear you say that. He'll never shut up about being cute if you bring it up. Just nonstop "Hehe, I know!" over and over again!" Why was this guy blushing? Cute syndrome? He had heard before of people turning red and getting cute aggression when they saw something sweet, but a half drooling Chip wasn't *that* cute. Okay, he was, but whatever. Theo's gaze followed Holland's, then looked at the barista with a somewhat suspicious look. "So what's the deal with the plant right there? It kinda looks like Holly? Or Mistletoe? I have a vague idea of traditions, but most people think candy canes suit dangling things like that."

Oh Theo.... Theo, Theo Theeeoooo.... Holland swallowed, of course, just his luck. "U-Ummmn... So...Uhhh...Do you know what happens if youre under a mistletoe?" Did he not know of the tradition for mistletoe hanging above your and another person's head? Well this would be awkward to explain... "I could tell you or show you I guess. Which one would you like?" His blush turned a bit redder, gaze down while looking at the sleeping kitten. If only he could be doing that right now... "So cute..." he rubbed his little belly with his index finger, wishing he could have a kitten of his own. His parents did not want any animals in the house so he would have to wait till he was on campus at DCU to see if he could have one.

"...." Theo didn't quite get the question, so he tilted his head back to stare up at the mistletoe. A story came to mind about mistletoe being the only weakness of one particular god somewhere, and that made him squint up suspiciously at it, expecting it to do something terrible. When nothing happened, he shot a confused look to Holland. "Showing, since it'll probably be faster." His little Chip still slept away, not a care in the world. Maybe a finer tuned ear could hear mutterings about gears or stuff, but to 90% of people, it was just cute kitten snores. A vague swat was made at Holland's offending finger, before he curled over to mostly lay on his hand. "And why are you red? You feeling alright?"

"H-Huh? Yeah Im....Fine. Ummmn..." He didn't know how to go about this but he figured he would just give it the good old college try. "Lean in a bit?" He was a bit nervous but figured this would all work itself out. Either things would be okay or he would lose a friend, something he would rather avoid.

"You're acting like you're about to commit a crime!" Theo gave a big ol' toothy grin at that, leaning forward when asked. "As long as you're not going to, you know, stab me or something, It'll be okay. Can't leave Chip an orphan, nope?" As if on cue, Chip gave a small mew sound and sleepily got up to just move and hide under Theo's hidden coat, having had enough of their noise.

A crime? Well....If he were honest... Maybe? Holland laughed, shaking his head and leaning in, "I promise I wont!" With that said he pushed himself in, pressing his lips to Theo's gently. The contact actually sent tingles down his spine, and as much as he wanted to press in and do more, hold him by this hair just to at least dive in with his tongue and see what he tasted like... That might actually be a crime or it would at least scare his friend. Before he did anymore Holland pulled away, looking about as red as a tomato. "T-That's what you do when you see a mistletoe Theo. You kiss the person that's under it with you." Actually, he wanted to do it again, but he held himself still. He already broke the bubble barrier once...

... What?? Theo felt a very strange tingle hit him from toe to tip at the sudden contact. It was like the fuzzy feeling you get right before you're actually zapped by static. Not unpleasant, but terribly strange and unsettling when he couldn't place the feeling. He was inexperienced, Yes, but not stupid, and kisses were romantic things, weren't they? What did this all mean? It was so brief, like a hiccup that was startling but non-intrusive. And Holland was very very red, so... It was something? Rather than blush or get flustered, Theo simply looked confused, then looked down, as he gave the kiss a bit more consideration. His answer? Picking up a sleepy Chip who blinked a little in confusion, then held him up towards Holland. "Well... Uh... So I got a kiss, maybe Chip wants a little one on his head too. Tradition and all..."

Oh...Theo didn't seem affected after all. That gave Holland relief but also hurt a little and he wasn't sure why. Deciding to pack that away for later, he leaned in and gave the sleepy kitten a kiss on the head. He was so adorable and fuzzy with his sleepiness. Although he kinda...Wanted..."Can I kiss you again?" Was it bold? Yes. Did he think Theo would freak out? Maybe? One doesn't simply ask their friend for multiple kisses....Unless you liked said friend as more than a friend...Or if you were just confused.

Seemingly satisfied with the affection also shown to his kitten, Theo pulled Chip back into the warmth of his arms. That was plenty, he figured, since the obligation of the kiss was now fulfilled as far as he was concerned. But then if that was the case, why was Holland asking for another? The kinda naive part of Theo had him wondering just how long did the Mistletoe rule lasted for. One kiss? Or constant kisses for as long as he was under here? "You want to do it again? ... Why? Did you like it that much? Was that a good kiss for my first one?" Most people would be embarrassed to all hells about it being a first, but it really didn't hold any special meaning to Theo. A kiss was just another bit of affection people showed, and he didn't think at all it was a bad thing.. honestly he wanted more himself, just because of how wonderfully warm Holland's lips felt against his own. It was stupidly cold outside after all!
