Heike 1 This was as close to the tree as Heike was willing to go. All around her, Sisters of both Elaria and Alkidike descend were going about their day. Pairs talking animatedly. A youngling carrying a sword that looked awfully big for her, an intense look of concentration on her face. A few stared at her curiously, but left her alone for the most part. She wasn't sure if the news had gotten around like wildfire about a visiting granddaughter of a local or not, but she liked to think that was the reason she wasn't being bothered too much. She felt immensely uncomfortable around all these women.
She stood near the side of a building, as much out of the way as possible, her solid eyes following the branches of the Mother Tree as they poked out over the rooftops in her way. It wasn't a clear view. Than again, she didn't want a clear view. Heike's whole purpose of being here was to see her family. The blood relatives she hadn't even realized were here. Now that she was here, her goal was to learn as much from her grandmother as she could, before returning to her own settlement. It had been the same in Jauhar. She had only wanted to see the Alkidike. To talk to them. She hadn't wanted to see Aisha, which had surprised many of them. Why didn't she have a desire to see the other trees like everyone else seemed to?
Giving the distant view of the branches and leaves one last glance, the Elidae turned to go back, to find a quiet place somewhere to continue her spear training. She had seen the tree, if not fully. That would have to do to satisfy her grandmother's wishes.

It started out as any other day around Elzira. The sun was shining bright, birds and other critters chirping aimlessly into the mid-day heat. It would be hard for one not to find themselves smiling on such a day. The surly Alkidike was as always, the exception to the rule. While the injuries to her arm had been healed for the most part, rebuilding the muscle strength was it's own problem. Today the Mystic had been tasked with various mundane duties, and that was probably what had exacerbated the woman's irritation. Even if it was being done for her own good. The soft sound of someones footfals repeatedly impacting the ground reached her ears, lending a rhythmic cadence to the otherwise jumbled sounds of nature. Her arms folded across her chest and an irritated scowl plastered over her face. She was the picture of impatience. Grumbling under her breath about having lost her companion and needing to search out something new to replace Popoie. Turning to glance in the direction of someone walking across her path. A quizzical expression quickly replaced the scowling. What was an Elidae doing here? Heaving a long drawn out sigh, Aselia regarded the woman slowly. It wasn't often she came across visitors to the area, certainly not those who came to visit Elzira like she was a tourist spot. The very thought irked her a little, but she quickly abandoned the thought, regarding it as really none of her business. Then the thought emerged. Perhaps this visiting Elidae could help her acquire a new companion. She was certainly a warrior type, from the looks of her, and would maybe be best to help determine a stronger fit. Determined Aselia took the steps needed forward to intercept the womans path. " Excuse me cousin," Aselia began. " You seem busy but surely you've a moment to spare?"

Heike 2 The Elidae hadn't expected someone to block her path so. Not that it wasn't something she hadn't come to expect happening from time to time, not when she was one of the newer tree blooms. Though it was quite different here than it had been on Jauhar. Friends or training companions of her grandmother would stop her to ask questions if they saw her wandering Zinris. Which she usually tried her best to avoid doing. Looking closely at the Alkidike who stood before her now, she looked far too young to be either. Mayella was old enough to be showing grey intertwined with the mahogany dreads. Though looks could always be deceiving. So she tried her best not to look annoyed at the interruption. Which was a rather difficult task. Unlike her more energetic cousin, Heike almost always looked irritated by something.
"Yes? What is it you think I can help with?" she asked, her tone of voice suggesting she wasn't as bothered as her choice of words might entail.

A bit taken aback at the abruptness of the womans tone Aselia fought to bite back a retort. She wasn't intending to upset anyone today. Reaching up to scratch the back of her head Aselia averted her gaze skyward so as not to appear too intimidated. Was this how she was perceived by others? No wonder it so often ended in confrontations. Letting out a slow breath of air Aselia's arm dropped loosely to the side. Blinking a few times she slowly turned to look back towards the Elidae. It wasn't in her nature to apologize to anyone for anything, but patience had been something Aselia had been working on. Patience with others, but more so with herself. "I don't mean to intrude if you're busy cousin. You look like a well traveled woman." Placing her index finger on the side of her cheek, Aselia tilted her head slowly towards her injured arm. "I know it's bold of me to interject so callously into your affairs, and I mean to welcome you here warmly. I am only curious where you have been in your travels."

Heike 3 Heike watched the other woman's expression with mild interest. She usually had far more patience when she was the one doing the approaching. Which was rare. Not that she could really fault someone for talking to her. Why wouldn't the Elaria here be curious about her? Or Alkidike in this case. And it wasn't like she had anything else to do. She couldn't spend the entire day training, after all. Every Aishan in her life seemed to be telling her that, starting from her time in Emeka. But what else was there to do? She could barely stomach conversation and nothing else really interested her as a hobby.
"I'm not busy," came her simple answer, in contrast to the natural look of slight irritation that was always on her face. Maybe if she'd had an easier life, she could afford to look friendlier. Not that she was doing this on purpose. Still, she never complained when it turned people away from her. Even other Aishans were far too stressful.
"I have been to Jauhar and Kiros. I wouldn't call myself well traveled." She wouldn't have even left Kiros at all had things not happened so suddenly.

Aselia hummed at the response she was given. The woman did look worn and stressed. Thinking it better than to read too much into it, Aselia shifted her weight to accommodate an ache pushing through her shoulder. "Kiros, well that's traveled enough sister. Anything outside of our mother tree could be considered traveled. I've never been there. Would you be up to recounting some of your experiences with me?" The Alkidike was calmer in speech than she usually would have been. Wincing as she just heard her own voice in her head. She sounded like some recorder, trying to keep tabs on everyone's adventures. Grunting Aselia shifted her stance again. "Sorry, that was rather rude of me, would you by chance prefer a meal to share while you're hear. I am rather lacking of company as of late, and would enjoy the company of someone else to speak with for a change. If you're not opposed to the idea. My treat." Aselia finally offered, extending out a hand in greeting. "I'm Aselia."

Heike 4 It didn't seem like her natural expression of mild annoyance was going to scare this Alkidike away. Not that Heike was really trying to, as much as she wasn't sure to sitting down to a simple meal with someone else she didn't know very well. It wasn't like friends of her grandmother hadn't tried the same thing, to share a simple meal over a campfire late into the night and ask her questions about herself. She hadn't expected to get the same treatment from someone she was totally unacquainted with.
"I thought you wanted help with something?" the Elidae asked, eyebrows raising.

Aselia blinked a few times, then nodded her head. "Yes I do want help with something, I have recently lost my Kinfa companion. I'm currently seeking assistance in hopes of finding someone who can help me locate either another Kinfa egg, or, something of an equivalent nature."
Scrunching the side of her nose with a sniffle to stave off any unwanted emotions the Mystic turned her gaze away from the individual before her. She didn't really want to dive into that conversation just yet, having offered the meal as a buffer point but here she was anyways.
"So, what do you say about that meal?" Aselia interjected, her gaze shifting back towards the Elidae.

Heike 5 What was a Kinfa? Heike wondered silently, Sounded rather cute, not like a pet for an Aishan. Well, perhaps for someone like her cousin, who had zero interest in behaving like a respectable Sister and could barely focus on the simplest of dagger training as it was. She'd probably love something cute and cuddly. Strange that she hadn't found one, yet. If Heike were to choose a pet, she'd certainly go with something a little more useful. And dangerous. Perhaps a keldari, like what her grandmother had.
"Depends what that is," she finally answered, continuing to ignore the requests for dinner. "I'm not usually in the habit of helping others."
