Immediately following a helping hand given
Rene locked the door as Alexandre had left, making sure the closed sign was still showing so that he didn’t get any early risers trying to enter his shop before it was supposed to open. He walked a short route through the store and checked things before picking up the folder Alexandre had left for him. Everything looked all clean and orderly in the front of the shop but as he walked back into the backroom, he sighed a bit at the mess that was all over. It took more than a few minutes to pick everything up and get things tossed into the small trash can by the nightstand where he had placed the folder.
Laying down on the bed, he settled in with his phone and the folder. Flipping through the papers, he found all the notices and approval letters he’d need to get the next step of things started. Scrolling through the DMV website he set up an appointment for this coming Saturday so he could get his license or at least a temporary one if they didn’t print them in-house. It was a lot to take in, the papers, and the rest of the day. It’d been risky but he’d also been a bit riled up from everything. The only problem now was that he was exhausted and the walk home was not about to happen. Settling in, he put the folder back on the nightstand and wrangled the blanket from the tangled pile of bedding.
It had been an interesting day, not one he had really planned on happening that way. Just the thought that that blonde had done something to help him kept floating around in his head. They had said they didn’t want anything in return but the rest of the day spoke to the opposite of it. It left him a bit confused about how to proceed as he rubbed at the bite mark on his neck. They’d gotten him pretty good in a few places, it wouldn’t really be easy to hide if he went out for any more flings. But to be honest with how the day had gone he could go for a few days without so he could rest. Maybe by then, they’d come back around for more.
Scrolling through his phone, he deleted the number from the woman who had been in the shop before Alexandre. She’d given it to him on her way out but he really didn’t intend on ringing them back. They’d sniffed out that he had money and tried weaseling their way in after he’d gotten what he’d wanted. It also hadn’t helped that she kept saying he was Italian or Spanish, never remembering where he actually had come from. Staring at the phone, he wondered if Alexandre would text him when they got home. It was a weird thought, one that he’d never really cared about before with the people he burned through.
Things had gone very differently from the first time he’d seen them and he didn’t really know what to do about it. Considering the other had wanted a no-strings-attached arrangement and he’d already weaseled in a few terms to that before they left.
