Prompt 1 (Diamond Dust): This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall where each snowflake that fell glistened like tiny diamonds. For the most part, the snow seems fairly normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange, or incredibly romantic.

When the snow is coming down at its strongest, crystalized snowflakes trickle down with the rest of the snow. These are roughly the size of a quarter and are light and hollow. They are fragile, like glass, but glisten like a fine cut gem. No one can explain this anomaly, but these small snowflakes won't melt. And they are all over Destiny City. You can find them gently falling to the ground, or lying in the fresh fallen snow. There doesn’t seem to be anything particularly magical about them, but they are beautiful and make pretty keepsakes.

Today was a day where Mercy decided she wanted to go out on a family walk, Cass was officially on winter break from the college and they would be traveling to Italy pretty soon to go see Romeo with the rest of the family which included Damien, Rose, Lyle, Liam, and Annie. She wasn't sure if everyone else wanted to go, and she did invite ALL the family and friends but responses have not been received. The destination today was the park. The boys wanted to play in the snow and while they did have a nice backyard, It was just nice to get away from the house and go somewhere, especially now that she wasn't spending her time cry laughing into a toilet. This pregnancy seemed like it would be a bit harder on her than the last time when she was carrying Al [at least with him all she wanted to do was sleep and eat all the cashews ever]. This pregnancy was planned though which was a boon, cause while she loved her boys they were the most surprising surprise of her life [other than the fact that she was married now, something she never took into consideration when she was younger], so it felt nice to plan something. The double stroller she was using wiggled a bit while they walked, Ali's mittened hand was the one currently reaching towards the sky where the soft snowfall was coming from. "Snow snow!" Lu decided to follow suit, looking up as well, "Mommy snow!" Mercy pulled back the cover of their stroller so she could look down at her sons, "Yes! Its pretty isn't it?"

"Bella mamma delle nevi!" was Lu's response to her question.

The fact that her kids knew three languages baffled her sometimes, as well as the fact that she now knew Italian as well. Cass was an amazing teacher [big duh given the fact that he is a College professor], Mercy chose to respond to Lu in Spanish instead just to see how quickly he would catch on, "Si nene, es muy bonito." He grinned at her and replied back just as quickly in Spanish, "Siiiii!" Yep, children were amazing, that much is for sure. There was an arm wrapped around her shoulders as soon as she moved back up, the calming cologne of her husband causing her to sigh. Cass whispered something in her ear that made her shiver, something that would designate a response later and not in public. One of the boys seemed to hop in excitement, understandable considering they could now see the park. Mercy increased her pace, glad that she wasn't too impacted by weight just yet. She was showing a bit more than usual considering the fact that she was carrying twins [thanks to the genes on her father's side] but that was really it. Once they made it to the park, Cass was the one to take the boys out and made sure she sat herself on the nearby bench, which of course she gave him an eyeroll. She was carrying twins, she was pretty sure she would've been okay to chase the boys around for a bit.

However, she did have to admit that sitting down feels nice, so she would give him that.

While her boys played, Mercy looked up to the sky, a small twinkle from one of the nearby trees catching the corner of her gaze. While ice was the standard that came with snow, she figured this type was not considering the fact that they looked like more solid versions of the flurries that were currently falling. One managed to land on her lap and she picked it up carefully, marveling at the fact that it didn't instantly melt at her touch. This was either one of the many strange things that happened around this city or a potential threat. After adding just the tiniest bit of pressure, the snowflake in her hands crumbled into shiny crystalized dust. It was still very pretty then, reminding her of glitter in a weird way. The small woman was pulled from her thoughts when her boys came up to her with a small handful of the crystals in each of their hands. "Mommy look it! I gots shinnies!" Lucien all but screamed in his excitement. "Alie gots them too look!" He gently pulled his brother forward so he could show her, who was scowling at the fact that he didn't get the chance to show her himself.

"Oh wow baby those are nice!" "Can we keeps them? Pwease?" She didn't see the harm since she was sure they would melt in due time, but she did look to her husband for the agreement on his end, seeing the slight nod. "I dont see why not? Have to go to the store to get a jar but we can place them in a baggie if you want? You have to be careful though, they are tiny and fragile so they could break if you hold them too tightly. "Mommy put in baggie okay?" Al already had his hand ready, Mercy pulled out a zip lock bag that had his name written on it [Both boys liked to bring home trinkets from their days out, there are a ton of shells in their room from summers at the beach], amused as he tried to carefully place his findings in the bag. Lu was next and then they were both back to playing in the snow, Cass was in the middle of helping them make a snowman to display that was similar to the one in their front and back yard. Thinking back, Mercy did remember that they would either have to call Dmitry to see if he could help them with a house expansion or they would be moving soon here. The frugal part of her hopped they would just be able to expand the home considering all the costs that came with moving. Either way, with twins incoming, she figured this would be a new adventure for sure.
