It was a hard thing to do, something that she'd not considered until that moment. One moment in blissful ignorance then the next a whole new world opened to her. Curled up on her human's stomach, she felt his soft breathing as he slept. How much time had passed, how long had she been the stray that came and slept with this broken musician? Standing up carefully, she took a closer look at the man as thoughts began to trickle through her mind. He looked so worn down, as if he'd been eaten away over time. It was easier to notice now, to really get an idea that something was wrong with them more than just the habits they had. There was that small feeling of wrongness coming from beneath his pillow, before it had just been a noise maker to her. Now she could tell that it was something from chaos, something corrupted and vile. Or... was it really that bad? They hadn't seemed like a bad person, at least from what she'd seen from her time spent here. He stirred slightly in his sleep beneath her, trying to rotate to his side as he normally did in the middle of the night. A hand came up to pet at her side before falling back to the cot. Hopping off him and circling behind to rest behind his knees, she started to make a plan.
As much as she loved this home and enjoyed how the braided musician had spoiled her, it would be a bit difficult to hide things and she didn't want to make things difficult for them. There had been two new humans that had started to come around though so he would be alright if she was gone for a while, right? She'd hidden when they'd come over or shown up, squishing beneath the bed with all the books and bottles of alcohol. She hadn't liked sharing, hadn't liked the new strangers at first but they'd gotten rid of all the bottles that cluttered the house. They'd gotten the musician to a point where he slept through the night.
Tail flicking in thought as soft snores came from the sleeping form in front of her, she decided to gather things and head out. Moving quietly through the house, her ears swiveled as she listened for the other human that had been coming over more often. They normally slept upstairs and sometimes took the braided man with them to that room. If things worked out, she could maybe come back and meet them.
Pulling a few pieces of sheet music from the lowest shelf, she put it away in that little space of hers she could access now. It was as easy as breathing felt to her even if this was her first night having access to it. She wanted to keep something from here just in case she couldn't come back. Next, she grabbed a snack from the counter before wedging herself out the small kitchen window that they smoked out of. The ledge, still covered in tonight's layer of ash, creaked just a bit as she made her way out into the night.
Once she was outside, she started thinking about her options. They'd given her a name, a home, and every possible kind of dinner they could manage between a packed schedule. She quite like them and that name, Desiree. Mind set on things, she wandered and looked for a way to reach out to Chaos. By the end of this night, she'd join the same side as her musician. Then she could get back to the flow of things, at least a little bit. There was a lot of work to be done now and she needed to keep her cards close to her chest.
