Tinaksite knew that years had passed since she had gone into self exile in the rift. She knew that she wasn’t the same person that she had been before all of this happened. She had been stupid. She had eaten more starseeds than she should have, she had done what she was told not to do, and she had suffered the punishment.
Though, it might not have felt like punishment if she hadn’t been suffering alone.
Tinaksite was meant to be alone though. It was her destiny and her curse. She had realized that by now. Everyone she had ever loved or cared about had vanished from her life like the snow as it melts in the spring. It was just. How things were. She missed them though. Missed Mags, missed Laven…missed Wolf.
She was sure they didn’t miss her. Laven or Wolf could have come to find her. Could have asked about here…Axinite had been there when she had been promoted…he would have known that much at least but.
Alone was just her destiny.
There was another General nearby and Tinaksite hesitated, her hiding spot as comfortable as she could make it. There wasn’t often anyone in this area so…the fact that someone was…
Her head poked up from behind the rock she had been sitting against and when she saw who it was…
Well, at first, she thought it had to be some sort of a trick.
“...Wolf?”

Wolframite had been gone for some time during his mission for the Queen. In that time, a lot had happened, and upon his return, he had been working hard to get back to his rank before his purification. Before his punishment. Climbing the ranks hadn't been easy at all, now faced with stronger scrutiny than before. But a lot had made him get to where he was now, and a lot about him both mentally and physically had been altered.
Today he was on the Rift because he had been, for some time, trying to find a personal youma. There had been a distant wish to win the favor of his original youma, but that had long since been denied him. The beloved knight had only been spotted a few times, and each time he could feel the hatred from the other. The feeling that Wolframite had betrayed him by crossing sides. It was one thing he loved about his personal youma - that they were loyal. It was also the sword that stabbed the youma in the back - that he tossed the loyalty to the Negaverse and to them aside.
So far he had spotted a few candidates, but nothing felt - felt right.
Whining, he year a voice. Considering most youma couldn't even speak, he startled and whipped around when he thought he heard his name.
The head starting back was one he hadn't seen in years. "T..Tina?" But it wasn't registered to Tina to him. The energy was that of a half-youma, and she had horns.
Confusion turned his ears back as he changed his position to face in their direction. "What....what happened?"

Tinaksite swallowed and raised a hand in greeting, feeling suddenly shy. Uncomfortable. Confused. “I…Did what you told me not too and consumed too many starseeds…when General King Axinite promoted me this happened…I. Thought you and Laven just…had forgotten about me…I…did not know what to do so I…made a home for myself here. It…”
She broke off and shrugged, half wanting to reassure him, claiming that it wasn’t so bad but…that was simply a lie. A downright lie…and for all she knew, he wasn’t even real. This was just some other, stronger youma who wished to cause her discomfort.
“...Why are you here? You…are a General too?” That fact didn’t escape her…and while she was pleased for him…well.
“That is wonderful.”

This hadn't been a choice. It had been what he warned her about ages ago. The corruption of a starseed. She hadn't decided to become a half-youma of her own will, but went past a line that her starseed hadn't been able to recover from. The promotion, the surge of Negaverse power needed to promote someone from one rank to another, probably was the tipping piont of a already full starseed on the cusp of corruption.
"Oh...Tina." He said, in a way that wasn't disappointed, but saddened it had happened to her.
And to be out here, living in the Rift. Not even half-youma were supposed to live here. It was too dangerous, let alone the needs of the still human half.
Moving over, he went around the rock to take her fully in.
The change didn't look too bad. Wings. Horns. The additionals that he also suffered from that would be okay for a Halloween costume but not for being seen in public at any other time. Good. She also seemed to still have workable limbs which made just doing everyday tasks doable.
"I'm so sorry for not being around. I was sent on a mission. I was gone for a while. I couldn't contact anyone." He said as he moved closer to her.
"I only got back a while ago. But you....I should have checked in more." He had hoped she would have reached out to others. Other friends. Other officers. Anyone.
But he was assuming all humans had some kind of network. Clearly Tina did not.
"I'm looking for a personal human. Why are you living here? This is no place for you."

Looking away, Tinaksite shrugged. “I have managed well enough. It’s…not ideal. Or. Good but. It’s all I could think to do. I didn’t have anywhere else to go, or anyone who cared if I was around or not. I simply…I simply left…and nobody has missed me so it’s not a big deal.”
Still. Wolf seemed like he had missed her…and he was here so…that had to mean something.
Maybe.
“...If this is not a place for me, then what is? I can’t go back to my apartment. I can’t go back to the real world…and I have no desire to…really do anything. Letting me just…exist here is fine. I’m fine.” She was fine. She wasn’t happy, but that was simply to be expected. Life wasn’t there to make people happy.

"You are an officer of the Negaverse." He said, moving over to set his hands upon her shoulder gently. "You are not a full youma. You have not lost humanity and your wits enough to be directed by an officer as your master. YOU are your master still." He said firmly as he gave her shoulders a squeeze.
"This is not the place for you. You belong with us, back in the town. We can make you a home just for you, but for now, you must not loose what humanity you have left. That is precious to the Queen and for the future of the war." He said, releasing his grip lightly from her.
"Come. We will find you a home. All is not lost and you are not gone to this wasteland." He gestured for her to follow.
"Are you even eating out here?"

“Sometimes I eat a youma or two...I can make fire. They’re…I mean. They’re bad, yeah. But. It’s. Fine. I’m fine. Some are…worse than others…”
She had eaten a starseed once, but…that had been nearly a disaster. Luckily it was taken care of quickly, and he was right. She was an officer of the Negaverse…and that…helped. She supposed. They hadn’t killed her at any rate, and a lesson had been learned.
“...Why? Do you have food with you? And…are you sure? I…if you’re sure I will come.”
If this was just a trick. Or the antics of another youma…fine. She had nothing to lose at this point so, she would follow them wherever.
“Lead the way.”

Wolframite couldn't help but make a face when they mentioned they resorted to eating the wildlife. Part of him wondered how many youma were still people who regressed too far past return and if that somehow made this cannibalism.
At the request for food, he reached into his subspace and pulled out a bag of jerky to give to her. "This should hold you over until we get out of the Rift. I'll grab you actual food once we find a place to settle you. I want to know what you are hungry for. I'll teleport out and get it." He said, deciding he would need to work on getting Tina back to health and possibly better gain back some weight she might have lost out here. If anything, scrapping by in the Rift would mean muscle mass would also be eaten away from her deprived body.
"Do you still have any belongings? Changes of clothes? Do you have a glamour?" He asked them.
His glowing eyes looked over to her, concerned but calculating. A game plan was formulating in his mind. "I'm sure - I'm sure you are also NOT fine."

“I am quite sure that my apartment has been sold and emptied so…all that I have is what is with me now. And the small bit that I brought to the office that I was given in the castle…I did try to live there at first but…it simply wasn’t comfortable.”
Tinaksite shrugged and didn’t…bother thinking of the fact that the Rift was even less comfortable than her office but…that was something she could unpack later.
“I do not really use my glamour but I know how to. I’ve done it a few times…I. Would love to have some french fries…if you are really wanting to know. With cheese on them…and tomatoes. That…sounds wonderful.”
…And was honestly making her mouth water at the thought.

He breathed out and added more to his mental list. They were as if they were freshly recorrupted. They were starting out new without anything but the shirt on their back. What they needed right now was a hot shower, a good meal, and rest.
"Alright. But give me more than just fries. You should have a full meal. Do you like burgers?" He asked, looking over as they made their way in the direction of the Hall of Shadows.
"You can sleep in my office. I have a couch there. We'll work on getting the things you need for a home. For now, we can get you a hot shower, meal, and a place to sleep that's secure."
Cheese and Tomatoes on fries? What a odd combination. Then again, he wasn't much for tomatoes.
"What size of clothes do you wear now?" He asked, not wanting to be too invasive.
He then paused. This was being a bit - strict.
"You're under my team." This was not a matter for argument. "Unless you have a officer you work under." If so, he would need to report this grave issue to them.

“Burgers are fine, yes. I will eat anything at this point. I am not really picky…I just want cheese. So make sure the burger has that too?” Tinaksite sounded rather hopeful and shrugged at the question of her size. “The same size that I wore before, I would assume…I…have some clothes in my office we can go there first if that would make you feel better…but I would like to stay in yours, yes…if you have a couch…”
That at least sounded soft and comfortable…
When was the last time she had slept on something really soft?
It had been too long to really remember, honestly. “I suppose I have no issues with it…but…shouldn’t.”
She shrugged once again and closed her mouth. Now wasn’t the time to argue or say stupid things so…
“I am not under anyone. I am a General now, you know…so. Nobody was responsible for me.” Nor…should they be.

"More calories - I say that cheese would be good." He said with a smile, glad she was asking for something more.
It was a brisk walk to the Hall of Shadows and back out. As Generals, the shadows gave them little issue. On the other side, he set a hand on Tina's shoulder and without pause, they were back in his an Laven's home. Laven was out doing their duties back at HQ. They were outside of the bathroom inside the home they had created, and there he dropped his hand.
"You need a reset. A good meal and a hot shower will do wonders. I'll leave out some sweat pants and a shirt for you for now." Turning, he opened a hallway closet and pulled out some fresh towels and offered it to them. "Take your time. I'll go get you something to eat so I'll be back. I'll leave some clothes by the door so you only have to crack it open."
He opened the door and gestured for them to go in. "I'll see you in a bit. If I'm not back by then, you can go downstairs and have a seat."
With that, he ushered them into the bathroom and shut the door. He managed to get some tape and a note and left it on the door in the even Laven showed up. That way she didn't think he was the one taking a shower or bringing someone strange home. Considering how she attacked him when he returned from mission, he didn't think Tina would be safe if they weren't given some notice of what was going on. That and if Laven thought it was him in there, it would a very embarrassing surprise to find some other woman.
With that done, he went and got a simple t-shirt from his dresser, sweat pants, and socks, and left them by the door.
Leaving the to it, Wolframite glamoured up and teleported out. It was easy to find a place that did burger and fries. They didn't put tomatoes on fries but was willing to cut some up and put it on as a side. Cheese was easy to get on the fries. He got her two burgers with cheese, not sure how starving she felt. Along with that, he got her a bottled coke and a water. After that, he stopped as a convenience store, got some toiletries like a toothbrush and such, a little makeup bag to keep it all in, and a t-shirt that said "I Love Destiny City" that he thought was fitting and a nice. Something more fitting than his worn t-shirts. He also got some snacks so they could have some for the office to have whenever they felt hungry. Getting them back up to health and having food available was something he felt was vital.
With a paper bag of fast food in one hand and a plastic bag in another, he teleported back to the kitchen, checking to see if Tina was out as he set the items on the counter.

Honestly, Tinaksite had thought that this was all a bit much, but he had been right, and the shower had felt…well. Wonderful. She had slipped her glamour on to do it, not wanting to chance getting her wings wet, for some reason it didn’t sound great to get them wet and…so she simply didn’t. Putting the clothes on that Wolframite had brought her, Kat stepped out into the kitchen, looking thin and tired, but far more cleaner and more…alive.
“Thank you. You were right that it did feel nice to shower…” The smell of the food hit her and she paused, mouth beginning to water. “...And you were right…that food smells amazing and I would very much like to eat it now, please.” Her hands extended and she took hold of the food, opening it and pulling out the burger. She hardly took the time to unwrap it before she took a bite and gave a pleased, happy sigh. “...You…are quite smart, yes.”

Wolframite sat in a chair as Tinaksite ate. Now that she was bathed and changed, it was clear how much living in the Rift had done on her. She was hollow in the face in some places, and looked like she hadn't gotten natural sun in some time. Even though youmas could thrive in the Rift, the other half of them always needed some of the benefits of the surface of Earth.
"I'm glad you are feeling a little better. It's best to have a good rest when you had a nice shower and a good meal." It was one of the most basic of needs being met, and one that could make someone feel more alive - more human. Not like some stray animal without a home.
"I can keep bringing you food, but we'll also need to see about getting you paid. You can also go on patrols with me and steal some cash from a few drain victims if need be to help you get on your feet a bit more."
It was how he managed as a knight and starting out as a youma too. "We're also getting paid even as half-youma now. You'll need to check into that to get you on a set payroll."
"I'll take you to my office to rest. In the morning, I can bring you breakfast and we can talk about your future here. I think it's good we set you up with a permanent home here in the neighborhood. It's gong to take time for it to be built, but the sooner we get some choices decided and that in progress for you, the better."
"If you don't want to live in the barracks for now, we can figure something out in either your office or mine. Maybe a fold-out couch to rest for yourself and a mini fridge. We can get a mauvian to wire one up for you to work here. How long has it been since you glamoured up and walked about not on patrol?"

“I do not remember when I was outside again…but. I would like that. All of that. Thank you. I am very glad that I was able to meet with you again, Wolf…I do not wish to live in the barracks…I would like to stay in my office…it seems far more private…but. If I could stay with you for a few days…that…”
She swallowed and kept her eyes on her food. “It was loud in the rift. As much as it was silent. I have. Grown very used to both…it will feel odd to no longer have companionship…”
Looking up again she shrugged. “Thank you.”
