The Guardian (12) - Maybe you expected weeds and mushrooms down here. Maybe you expected bugs. You probably didn’t expect a raven. Or, at least, it looks like a raven. It is a rather large bird, and seems so impeccably groomed that it almost doesn’t even look real. It has no dust, no dirt, no feathers out of line. Sometimes, it seems to mind its own business, but in the darkness you can hear its flapping wings and scratching the ground nearby. All the same, it is very curious about you. Sometimes it will follow you around. It is unintimidated by you in the slightest, and seems to hold no regard for personal boundaries. It might stand at your feet, or on your shoe, or land on your shoulder if it feels like it. It will pick through your hair or pockets, like it is looking for something. It likes jewelry, and you might be wise to remove what you have once the bird starts poking around.
The raven does not just croak or chatter, it talks. Sometimes, it will repeat what you say perfectly. Sometimes it will repeat it in a mocking tone. Sometimes it says something completely new. Maybe you hear it whisper ‘help me’, or you hear it weep, or scream, but sometimes–when you look at it–it seems like it understands. Occasionally, it makes a vague observation about your expression or hair, and while it does not carry out a conversation, there is an intelligence in its eyes that makes it seem like it’s amused by you. It cannot be caught and will shriek and attack if you attempt to cause it, or the cemetery, any harm. It will bite, scratch, and peck until it chases you way, so it’s best to do no harm and let it be.

After hearing about the Hawkins Cemetery, how the old building had crumbled and how when the city had cleaned up the rubble a cavernous pathway was found. Initially he held off on checking it out, other obligations getting in the way of any plan to see for himself the history of the city. Finally he had the time however and since his primary form wouldn't even draw alarm or scorn for trespass, he walked freely through the cemetery without bothering to hid at all. It was easy to slip through the gate that blocked entry, the bars more then wide enough for his feline structure to move in between.
Once he was in, he wandered around, not needing any outside source of night thanks to his enhanced low light vision when the glowing mushrooms were certainly enough for him to get by. It wasn't surprising to see all of the old tombstones and statues though he didn't attempt to ready any writing that could be found on them at this point of time, rather he would leave that for later before he made his way out to head home. The strange trees were something though and it almost distracted him long enough to miss the sound of wings flapping right away.
Instantly alert, Hania looked around for what was making the noise. While he had heard about the giant bats that had terrorized people this year, it sounded more like feathered wings then that of leathery skin of bats. Sure enough that thought was proven when he came across a raven. It had landed several feet away from him on one of the statues, staring intently at him. Ravens normally were intelligent, that was just a fact, but to Hania it seemed like this one was more then just intelligent.
"Hello there." Hania said, only for the Raven to repeat his words back in his exact tone. "Do you live here?" He asked it, but while it seemed like the Raven understood, all it did was repeat it back, but this time with a mocking tone in it's voice. The Mauvian gave a thoughtful hum but before he could do anything else, the Raven took flight to circle above him. It was fur raising but he wasn't terribly worried as it didn't seem aggressive. This was proven when it landed down by him with it's head tilted to the side.
The raven hopped closer to n** it's beak at the neck piece that Hania had attached in a way that was clearly curious in nature, something that the Mauvian fully understood. For a while there he continued to interact with the raven, occasionally it would repeat anything he said but sometimes he would saw something completely random as they both tried to satisfy their curiosity with each other. Hania couldn't tell you have much time passed like this before he was startled by the raven letting out an eerie scream out of no where, no true prompting for it. At that point he figured it was time to call it a night and heading out. Up until he reached the gateway he could hear the sound of wings as he was followed by the raven but that disappeared as soon as he was out.
