They were insatiably curious.
Perhaps one day it would be their downfall. They didn't expect that downfall to come by just looking in the direction of an interesting object on the ground nearby; she thought it would be considerably more epic than that.
Or mundane, honestly. Looking in the direction of something was not typically how people ended up stuck in dark dimensions with absolutely no way forward but, well, forward.
He sighed.
Lysvi looked down at the die. Well, he supposed he didn't really have a choice in this one. No doubt Yddagen would wonder where they went.

What in the cosmos was that?
Lysvi's head was on a swivel in an attempt to figure out who had made that cosmos-forsaken noise. Her response wasn't anything visible but it certainly packed a punch, feeling like it was flying through her and within them before popping out on the other side. It was enough to leave goosebumps, and enough to distract them so badly they quite near cut themselves on the apparent blades left behind.
This definitely felt like the kind of bullshit Earth was known for, or very specifically Destiny City considering the murmurings he heard.
They weren't here for it.

Best to keep moving. They were squirming to get away from the blades, not as well-known for their finesse, but they needed to flee.
Well. So long as the snakes would let them.
Honestly, Lysvi found snakes intriguing. They were different than the creatures they had known on Velencya, but of course, their planet was fairly sparsely populated when it came to creatures not them and the essentials. The slithering slimy creatures weren't something they had a lot of face-to-face experience with.
Lysvi bent down to take a closer look.
The snakes did not approve, giving them a chorus of hisses before one spat in their face. Lysvi yelped, pulling back.
Okay, time to go! She didn't like these snakes!

Okay, so far she had learned that die bad, shrieking worse, snakes worst. Lysvi didn't like this game.
What was that smell? It was acrid, like smoke -- and did she see smoke, too? What was that music? It reminded him faintly of some of the things he had heard during the Star Festival, the music that Lysvi found enchanting as much as it was strangely creepy in the right circumstance.
This was the right circumstance.
People were shoving by them, even if Lysvi was unable to quite see them. They scrambled to figure out what from, only to realize why it was so acrid.
The smoke was thick because something was on fire.
What was a good Earthan word for this?
Oh yeah, <********>

They had to get out of there because they didn't want to die in this place. To live for three hundred and two years and be taken out by some Destiny City nonsense would be absolutely obscene--
Why couldn't they run anymore?
He looked down and groaned aloud when he realized he had somehow got stuck in a web. Was this some youma bullshit? Could he comfortably pull to this monster that the Velencians were allies for some reason, it was fine.
They doubted it.
Lysvi took out their phaser and set it to the highest setting they could, swinging around to blast at the sticky web to free themselves so they could keep moving. They weren't going to die to whoever that was skittering down the alleyway of web--

Good to know their weapons still worked in here, though now what did they have to worry about--
Howling. Wolves? Monsters of some sort. Probably more youma. Great.
Was the first one even a youma? Lysvi didn't know. She probably should take out her communicator and get a better idea of what was going on but why would she do that she was just a researcher. This sucked, she was no longer curious, and she had honestly stopped being curious a solid twenty minutes ago.
Armed and dangerous, Lysvi aimed her phaser forward at whatever she thought was running at her--hopeful the wolven monsters, if they were actually corporeal, would flinch away or disappear like the web had--and ran for what she hoped was the end.

[ doubled! ]
Please let this be it!
Lysvi was running so fast that they barely noticed the glow before they stumbled back on solid ground.
Oh.
... Felt silly to be afraid of death when the death was so easily outrun. Or maybe outmaneuvered?
Lysvi, uncomfortably, tucked the phaser back at their side. They didn't particularly enjoy using their weaponry, but it had its uses. Like now. When wondering what this all was had gotten them nowhere but hurt. They'd have to go get that burn checked out...
Maybe it still showed in their human guise and they could just run over to the urgent care.
