He continued to walk alone, posture straight and body language easily reading to whoever it was in the shadows that they were more then welcome to '******** around and find out'. He may not be willing to power up and compromise his identity yet but that wouldn't stop him from raising his fists. Rick didn't even bother looking around himself at this point, knowing that the stalker would remain unseen after the first several times he tried to find whoever or whatever it was. He kept his eyes forward at the moment and his steps steady, he wasn't far from his planned stop, his apartment. He had only stepped out to go for a jog and had been on the return trip when the feelings had come.
Eyes glinting with anger and a hint of predatory dare on his own, he was ready to throw hands.

Holi had to stifle a giggle. She didn't think it would be this easy to mess with Rick, given the fact that he is a negaverse agent, but she would take her small victories where she could. She didn't notice the look of anger on his face or really read the warning that only a predator could give, silently following him even as he made his way towards his apartment. Giving his person the barest of touches, then turning away when he would almost see her, gave such a weird thrill. It was akin to the feeling of playing with your food before you went in for the kill. Now, Holi isn't usually a violent person [Hell, Rick scared her sometimes when they were on patrol], but if this is what Huntite felt whenever he was stalking some one for energy, she could understand why he did it most days. Her arms reached up, barely touching the nape of his neck, while she quickly made herself scarce. Oh it was going to be so much fun making him jump out of his skin once she surprised him!

He most certainly did not jump when he felt the barest hint of a touch, nor did he flinch at it. Any of those types of responses were burred currently thanks to his focus on the fight part of fight or flight. Although if asked, he would say that saying should be fight, flight or freeze as it was typically one of those three things that would happen no matter if human or animal. Instead he had whorled around to try and catch the culprit but just managed to miss seeing Holi duck into the shadows.
It ramped his anger up more when this happened so when get turned back around to continue walking, he was clenching his hands into fists. The fact that Holi missed that his body language screamed danger do not mess with would be something that should he find out later, he was going to take her out for training. By way of both people and animal watching so she would get some experience it knowing when something was a bad idea.
The next time she tried to touch him, his neck this time, he whorled around even faster with one hand raised up in a fist to punch. It was only his quick reaction time that had him unclenching said fist and grabbing the hand that was pulling away at the last second. His eyes blazed but he kept his grip only tight enough to hold her wrist, not hurt her, while also taking some very visual deep breaths to clam down. "Holi." He started only she he could keep his voice mostly level. "What in the hell are you doing?"

While she thought she was having fun, Holi was not the best at reading the room or body language for that matter. Ordinarily, she would at least try but she was so caught up in her fun that she did not realize just what was happening with her poor boyfriend. The poor thing squeaked when Rick turned with such a quickness, prepared to duck to miss the fist, eyes squeezed shut. When the pain of a hit did not come she only then opened her eyes and barely at that. Seeing the apparent anger in Rick's eyes caused her gaze to lower while biting her lip, clearly radiating nervous energy. "I ummm....I was....Well....Its Halloween and umnn..." "I-I was just trying to be spooky?" Her head was lowered in shame and guilt. "I-Im sorry...."

Rick closed his eyes and took a deep breath at her words. And then took a few more as he started to mentally count to twenty to calm down. When he no longer felt like he was about to reach out and shake her while asking her why in the universe did she think this was a good idea, he opened his eyes and look at her.
"Holi. I am a not just a Park Ranger who has intimate knowledge of how it feels when being stalked, I am also an Agent who has no problem doing lethal damage." The anger was still there, just banked into coals instead of the fire it had been and tempered by disappointment.. "If you had been anyone else I would not have held back. If I had been anyone else, you could have put yourself into serious danger." He let her hand drop and ran one of his own hands over his face as he sighed.

Now why did she have to get the dissappointed dad voice too? Like what the hell?! Holi repressed the urge to roll her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest while still keeping her head lowered in shame. "I knew it was you, Im not going to just try this on anyone Rick." She looked up at him with her cheeks puffed out slightly, "I AM a Dark Mirror....Im not just a civilian." She was still sorry but he REALLY didnt have to go all dissappointed dad and make her feel even worse. Just because she was young and sometimes didnt think about stuff didnt mean she wasnt able to handle herself! Granted, a battling Rick is a scary Rick but that was beside the point. "Besides, I have been training with you and its been working! Just means I cant try any spoopy things with you." Unless she wanted to get punched which....No thank you.

Disappointment was still clear and didn't seem like it was going to go away for a bit. "You are a civilian in this form now aren't you?" He pointed out with a raised eyebrow. It wasn't like they got boosts when not powered. "Yes you have been training but-" he cut himself off with another sigh and shook his head. "Forget it, this isn't the place to have this type of talk. Too open." It could have been left over adrenaline from Holi's prank but even after his stalker had been revealed to be his girlfriend the hairs on the back of his neck hadn't gone down.

A huff was all he was going to get at that point. She did agree this was too open for this kind of conversation to happen. Instead of agitating Rick any further she opted to start walking in the direction of where she knew Rick's apartment would be, goosebumps appearing on her arms. It wasnt like she was cold, so why did she feel the need to shiver? Looking over her shoulder, Holi sighed, torn between two things. Ultimately she decided to walk back and wrap her arms around her boyfriends waist briefly, mumbling into his chest, totally not using it as an excuse to feel the muscles underneath. Nope. "S-Sorry...." She really didnt mean to set him on edge like that, the guilt was killing her despite the snippy reply earlier. That feeling came back tenfold, making her body stiffen, burying her head further into Rick while her hold tightened.

When she hugged him, Rick placed a hand on top of her head and the other he wrapped around her in a half hug. "Apology accepted but we will still have to talk about this later." He said then started to walk her back towards his apartment.
His eyes started to dart around a bit towards the shadows as they walked, his body caught between wanting to tense up in preparations for something and relaxing to sooth Holi.Was he still keyed up from her prank or was this something else this time?

But do they really have to talk about it later? Holi didnt think so. Either way, she was going ot figure out how to distract Rick as soon as they made it inside. No way did she want to talk about things like safety and responsibility....That sounded like a thing that future Holi should worry about, not the present one that wanted to jump out of her skin just now despite being around one of the few persons she truly felt safe around. She tried rubbing the goosebumps out of her arm, worrying her lip and looking around. Why did she feel like something more sinister was out there? She felt something touch the side of her leg and she jumped with fright.

Rick was about to break the silence that had descended on them to try and get the atmosphere a bit more relaxed when the sound of footsteps started up behind them. He looked back quickly but nothing was there. There was a subtle difference this time though, before he could tell it was someone who was following him, this time though? This time something in him screamed it was something.
Before he could urge her that they should speed up, the footsteps turned into the sound of something dead running at them. Instinct took over and for all that he was fine, though pissed off, earlier it made him grab her by the hand and run.
