Quote: Eight-legged Issues ( 8 ) - Small webs have begun to appear all over Destiny City at an alarming pace. The thin strands of webbing are surprisingly resilient and can be difficult to break, but that’s to be expected when you’ve got the charm of Destiny City’s unnatural wildlife. At least you’re not dealing with the car sized spiders of a few years ago. While the webs appear with great frequency all over the city, it can be difficult to see the spiders themselves. They are about an inch long at their largest, but even if they were smaller, it wouldn’t matter. They are almost completely invisible. When on their webs, they look like morning dew. When on you? Same thing. Thankfully, these spiders seem to want to keep to themselves, but it’s hard to do that when you can’t see them. If agitated, the spiders will bite. Being bitten can cause nausea, dizziness, fatigue and hallucinations. These symptoms can begin immediately after being bitten or can manifest up to a few hours after the toxins are introduced to the bloodstream. These symptoms may only last for a few hours—or up to a few days. No medicine seems to help this ailment, so you’re stuck weathering this one out on your own. Cleaning up the spider webs that kept appearing was not something hard, just tedious and annoying at times. Kai frowned at the spider web that had been made in the corner of the kitchen overnight, annoyance written all over his face. He had gotten up before his boyfriends and planned on making them breakfast in bed but found the web, rather lager then he would have expected for one spider in a single night. The short man let out a grumble as he went and got the step stool he kept by the kitchen just in case he needed to reach something high. Once located, he brought it over to unfold it beneath the webbing, then grabbed the little hand held electric vacuum he had bought for small messes in hard to reach areas.
After standing on top of the steps, one flip of a switch had the vacuum going and he started to clean up the webbing. However, while he was doing so it of course disturbed the occupant of the webbing. The small spider ended up dropping right on his hand due to his movements and of course, angered and scared of Kai's actions, the spider bit down.
Kai let out a yelp at the bite and out of instinct, jerked his hand so the spider was sent flying off of it and onto a counter top. He turned the vacuum off before looking down at the new puncture marks that were already an angry red with a frown. It wasn't terribly big but he wasn't sure if the spider was venomous as he hadn't heard anything in particular about the spider species that had been invading the city. As the young man went to set the vacuum down on a countertop nearby, he was suddenly hit with the feeling of dizziness. As the world spun for him, Kai lost balance on the step stool and came crashing down to the ground.

Xi-Wang had been sleeping curled up with Gabriel, having shifted to snuggled the other when Kai had left the bed, and he would have remained asleep if not for the crash which had him jerking awake with his heart hammering in his chest. A gasp passed his lips as he sat there trying to calm his racing heart, he could feel it beating wildly in his chest, as he looked around and took note of Kai missing from their bed.
"Gab." Reaching out to shake the otehr Xi-Wang climbed out of bed quickly and hurried towards the noise, as best as he could figure for it's location, and happen upon the sight in the kitche. The lights were on, the only lights on in the place, and Kai was on the floor. "Kai!" The shout from him, and him rushing over to the others side, should have woken Gabriel if his shaking the other hadn't.
"What happened??!" Already moving his hands to inspect the other, to look for injury or blood, he was worried and frantic but the way he'd woken was half the reason for that. He was worked up and couldn't manage to get himself under control just yet,

Gabriel was a bit notorious for sleeping in. His work hours were spent at home anyway, toiling away in front of a computer and working on new designs for clients. He could work whenever he wanted to, so there wasn't really a reason for him to rise and shine in the morning. Specially when being cuddled up with his partners was so comforting.
That morning he woke up startled though. A sound from somewhere in their home had pulled him out of a deep sleep, but hearing his name and a shake from Xi-Wang had him startled. He was just a bit slower out of the bed trying to process everything, but wasn't that far behind Xi-Wang when he discovered Kai had fallen in the kitchen.
Gabriel put his hand on Xi-Wangs shoulder, giving it a little squeeze. The last thing Kai needed was them being panicked over the situation. It wouldn't help whatever was happening here. "You didn't hit your head did you?" At the moment he was just assuming he had tripped on the step stool he had used. He removed his hand from Xi-Wang and bent down to calmly inspect the other, gently ruffling his hair to look and feel for any bumps.
He had the vacuum out for some reason and Gabriel was quick to guess why. They had been defending their home against those annoying spider pests for quite some time now. No matter how much it felt like they sealed the place up, they were just so small and capable of coming in from anywhere. Once he had confirmed their partner had no head injuries he stood up and tried to search the area. The darn things were so small though and he was unable to locate one.
"Were you bitten?" Gabriel asked as he moved the vacuum out of they way. Once safely out of they way he returned to their side to see if Xi-Wang had found anything wrong with Kai.

The world was still spinning even as he landed on the floor. Kai closed his eyes to try and see if that would help the dizzy feeling but it only made it worse so he opened them back up in time to see Xi-Wang come tearing out of the bedroom. Within a few heartbeats Kai found himself fussed over by his frantic partner and he caught one of Xi-Wang's hands even as he saw Gabriel join them. "I got dizzy and fell off. Still dizzy." He said in response to Xi-Wang's question.
He looked over at Gab and narrowed his eyes in through for a moment. "I don't think I did, I'm fairly sure I missed hitting it on anything." It helped that as dizzy as he was, his head actually hurt, though he did slightly lean into the checking hands for comfort. When Gab moved away to remove the vacuum, Kai then leaned against Xi-Wang. "Yes, it bit me when I made it drop by mistake, was trying to clean up the webbing." It hadn't been too much trouble cleaning up the webs before, even if annoying. but he also hadn't had any encounter with the spiders before now either.

Letting Gab take over for the moment, too busy fussing and working himself up, Xi-Wang took back over and held onto Kai as Gabriel moved the mini vaccum and looked around for the spider which had bitten their smaller partner. "These webs are becoming a pain to deal with." He didn't even know how they got up this high, as they were not living on the first floor of their building, but it seemed the spiders had no issue in getting up this high adn into their home.
"I'm corssing my fingers for this all to go away sooner rather than later." Though he didn't know when this would stop. Drawing Kai into his lap he looked up at Gabriel. "I wonder if anyone on the internet has figured a way to keep these spiders, and their webs, out of their home. We've done everything possible it seems." And yet there had to be something they could do, at least he hoped so.
"In the meantime perhaps we should eat breakfast inthe living room and we can watch a movie together? Or we can switch the tv over to work as a comptuer screen and I can do some gaming and we can stream it?" Streaming on twitch was something new for him, only the last few months, but it seemed he'd gained himself a small audiance. He tried to at least stream twice a week. This would be the third time and he was certain fans would tune in and be happy to watch.

Gabriel frowned a bit as Kai mentioned he was feeling a bit dizzy. That dang spider, it worried him that he couldn't spot it and squish it wherever it was. They were so small though, but didn't seem to be that interested in doing anything aside from finding place to spin that sticky webs. Hopefully it would crawl out of the apartment and off somewhere else, but he'd keep an eye on it.
"That sounds like a good idea. I'm fine with a movie or you streaming. Why don't you and Kai get settled in on the couch and I'll throw something together for breakfast." Cooking wasn't exactly Gabriel's forte, but he wasn't terrible at it either. It just so happened he had a talented chef living with him, so here wasn't really much of a reason for him to cook.
Breakfast was an easier meal to handle anyway. "Would you prefer something like pancakes or a more savory breakfast of eggs and bacon?" He was confident in those to things at least.
