It starts with a squeak in the sky, and the flapping of heavy wings. If it’s dark enough, maybe you don’t even see the giant bat descending on you. They were pests a few years ago but seemed to have cleared out for the most part–except for a stray one here or there. This one is large even by comparison. It has an eight foot wingspan–a behemoth, growing fat and large in the years since the bats last descended on Destiny City. Maybe you’re lucky, maybe it just swoops by. Maybe it’s hungry, or mad, and you look like a prime target. If it attacks, you’re in for a rough time. Scratches cause an itch that might last for up to a day, but the bites are the worst. Being bitten by these bats leaves two small marks that will itch for a few hours. Then, exhaustion and fatigue sets in and you become extremely sensitive to external stimulus; skin feels like it becomes overheated in sunlight, bright lights are painful to the eyes, and smells and sounds can seem overwhelming. The victim will feel constantly cold and hungry, no matter how much they eat or drink. They may also be prone to agitation and bouts of violence. These afflictions may last only a few hours or a few days and then suddenly disappear. (Being attacked by the bat can be counted as a battle once per character provided there are at least two powered characters involved; no matter how much you seem to damage the bat, it will always fly away and hardly even seems worse for the wear. You cannot track it or severely damage it. This prompt can be used for the battle or the afterwards of being attacked, or anything else you might be inspired to play!)
"A new karaoke place opened up a few blocks from Bàba's restaurant last week, would either of you be interested in checking it out tomorrow?" Panacea asked as he enjoyed the night. "From what I hear it has private rooms and it's not just one room that everyone takes turns on one karaoke machine like some of them in the States are like."
After he had prompted his question, he was briefly distracted by the sound of squeaking but shrugged it off as just the normal random bat squeaks that could happen even in the city as the flying puppies went after their flying meals. After all they weren't that far from one of the many parks in the city.
And then the squeaks got louder as if they were closer as well as the sound of flapping wings. Panacea looked up at the sky, not really expecting much more then a bat or two flying by. Only for his eyes to widen at seeing a large form diving straight at him.from the darkness of the night.

Even if it was time spent out patrolling, and gathering energy, it was time well spent when it was with his two partners. Kiuchi always wanted to spend time with them, both, whether they were powered up or not. Tonight he got to enjoy watching Panacea bounce around full of energy, as he walked along at Gabriel's side, an arm casually making it's way about the others waist. "I don't have much of a voice, but I wouldn't mind going to karaoke." Seeing as it would just be the three of them, and they wouldn't mind that he couldn't sing. "I'm free tomorrow evening, perhaps after dinner at your bàba's place?"
Food first before they went to sing, and perhaps even drink, since they were likely to spend a while there and wouldn't do much for eating while there. It soudned, from what Panacea was saying, like the ones he'd heard of in asia which were becoming somewhat popular in this country. He'd never been overseas but he knew enough from his sister, and others, and so he knew what the places were like overseas and that they were turning up here now as well.
The noise he heard, that Panacea heard as well, sounded like some of the small bats which flew about the city at night and ate the bugs. He ratgher liked the bats in the city, they ate the misquittos, they were cute really. He knew a few years back the city had an issue with really big, and vicious, bats but the normal ones were useful and this one he soon saw was not one of those bats.
"Holy s**t!" Shouting he pointed, his arm coming away from Gabriel. "Panacea! Get down!" Moving already to try and intercept the bat before it could attack his smaller partner.

Fulu was very happy to be out and about with his partners. Panacea especially had been busy lately. Admittedly, he didn't find himself patrolling around as much these days. Their recent trip to mirror space had been enough for him for a while. His feet needed a rest, even if most of his injuries had been taken care of after passing through the mirror and back into a stable Mirrorspace. Still, it wasn't something he could ignore forever. He needed a break from staring at design idea on his computer anyway.
His own arm was wrapped around Kiuchi as well, the smile on his face as a light-hearted as ever as he watched Panacea enjoy the freedom he'd been missing out on from his long shifts at work. "I'm not particularly good at singing." Truthfully he had never really tried outside of singing at birthday parties with everyone else drowning out his own voice. He did like music and there were definitely songs he enjoyed and knew the words to at least. "But, I could be convinced to do just about anything with you two."
While he did hear the squeaks coming from above, they were mostly ignored. It was such a common noise this time of night and it didn't really phase him. Not until Kiuchi shouted from beside him. It only took him a second to realize what was going on, Kiuchi was faster. He was the strongest of the three of them. Before he was completely out of reach he called on his magic and placed his hands on his partner.
"Eye of the Qilin!" And a light glow surrounded him. If he could get to Pancea before him at least he would have some extra protection from whatever that thing was. Sleet Tempest Snape Fulu calls his attack name and his hands and tiara glow. From here he can either clasp his hands together to use the power himself, or lay his hands on an ally in order to give them the favor. The glow passes on to an ally and they have an ethereal glow around them in the shape of Qilin horns, scales, and tail. This 'armor' bolsters their defense and can help negate any offensive magic or physical attack. In this stage it might help them to not feel a punch as hard, have a magical effect lessened. It depends on the weapon/magical level of their opponent. ie, might not do much against an Eternal/General attack.

Of course hearing that his partners would be willing to try out the karaoke place was something he was happy about and it was a topic he would certainly going to come back to later. Especially with Kiuchi's add on at eating out. Kai was fully aware that would end up with Bab trying to spoil the three and he wasn't opposed in the slightest. Also, maybe they would find they enjoy singing more then they thought should they go threw with it.
Still all thoughts of going singing vanished at the giant bat attack. Panacea had momentarily frozen in shock at the site of it but at Kiuchi's call, he dropped down hard on the rooftop and rolled a few turns to make sure he wouldn't be in the same area as before. The large bat screeched and simply changed targets however and aimed to attack Kiuchi instead as the closest target. He could hear Fulu call out his magic so at least he knew that Kiuchi had extra defense on top of his normally high defense due to his stage.Panacea pushed to sit up as he looked at his partners, starting to make his way back to his feet. "What in the world has that thing been eating to get this big?"

He was never more glad for Fulu's magic as he was now, since it seemed the bat had decided he was the better target, he was glad the bat had turned away from Panacea even if he was the new target for the bat. Knowing he could withstand the incoming attack, thanks to Fulu's magic, Kiuchi stood there and held his ground as he readied his own magic for the bat.
"Gorgon's assault!" The glowing green hair he drew freom his own head was sent at the bat as it got close - too close. It got close enough he couldn't avoid the bat as it slammed into him and started biting at him and flapping it's wings wildly. Soon his magic would take over, he knew it, and than the bat would become the victom rather than the agressor.
"Don't worry, I'm fine." Wanting to assure his partners, even as he felt the bites and yelped as a winf slapped his nose hard. This bat was really big, he was certain it had been one of those Halloween fall festival ones, it had taken years to get this big and it had been big to start with. Someone needed to locate the remaining bats and deal with them once and for all.

Fulu was still trying to make sense of the giant creature attacking them. Since it had taken them all by surprise, he knew it wasn't a normal enemy. It had no signature for him to trace and against the dark sky it was hard to spot. The sounds it made were a better source of detection.
Kiuchi called out his magic and deflected it for the time being. But he did take some damage in return. If only he was stronger himself and his magic was more powerful. The creature had taken back to the skies as Fulu caught up to Kiuchi and checked him over.
"You're not fine, that this is insane!" He could hear the wings beating above. Despite Kiuchi's magic it still didn't seem to want to give up on them yet. "We should look for a mirror. Someone else can deal with that...thing."
