Absolutely astounding! The pollen cloud that had blown in from the Aishan island had filled the air with a dust that caused most people to sneeze and their eyes water. But it was the after affect that was even more fascinating and caused Raeka to wish she had studied a different field so she could go out and study!
So many people had come to the academy seeking guidance or volunteering to list their new changes from the pollen, leaving Raeka to wander about and peer at those who she might have recognized. If only she could see it and have a point of reference.

She walked through the city with a cloth over her face and a wrap on her head, all in an effort to avoid the pollen that had polluted the air. It was an absolute hassle, but she was determined that nothing would impact her in any way. Imagine if she had a coloring change, how disasterous that would be!

As she continued throughout the day, a few people she recognized had changed, wondering if she too had any different colors. Unfortunately, she seemed unaffected, which was even more of a bit of a let down considering the opportunity to study.
Maybe she could offer up her services as a placebo to any researcher in the academy.

Finally, she arrived to the small cafe and rushed inside, grateful that they had large windows and a fan system that pushed the pollen out. A few others seemed to have sought refuge, but most overlooked such a small estrablishment, which is exactly why Astrasol came here again and again. It was also where she met her mysterious partner, who she needed to reach out to soon to arrange for their opportunity hunt.

She too darted into a small shop, relieved to see that it was quiet and the perfect spot to ponder. Settling down as she took off her jacket, Raeka dusted off her hair and shoulders before glancing about.

Settling down with a nice warm cup of detox tea, Astrasol took off her headdress and face covering, closing her eyes with a sigh before she caught sight of a familiar face.
Was that the woman who helped her during the explosion a few months prior? It wasn't like the hybrid was unique (compared to her at least).

Turning, Raeka caught sight of a familiar head of snow white hair against dark geian skin, gasped before waving at the girl who was quite close.
"It's you! Hello! You look like you're doing well." she said with a bright smile, scootching her chair a little bit to face the younger woman.

Oh goodness, it was the same woman. A rare bout of embarrassment colored Astrasol's cheecks before she willed them to cool off.
Looking with a small, hesistant smile, she nodded, "Yes, I've recovered quite well, thanks to your quick intervention. I don't believe we ever introduced ourselves. I'm Astrasol."

Her smile grew bigger at the fact it was indeed the girl she had encountered and she seemed quite well.
"Oh, I'm Raeka. Nice to officially meet you. Unfortunately it seems it isn't a normal day, with all this color changing pollen we're having."

She glanced out the window to look at the pollen still drifting about with each breeze, before turning back to the academy member with a raised brow.
"Is that what is happening? Surely the Academy is working on a solution..."

Looking down at her jacket, she shrugged in response.
"Unfortunately, that's not really my jurisdiction, but knowing the Academy I'm sure they started researching as soon as the first pollen blew in on the breeze."
She paused, before adding, "You feeling any of the effects? I hear it can change someone's eyes, skin color, hair color, and crystals..."

Pulling a hand through her loose hair, curling around her shoulders as she brushed it aside. Shaking her head, she smiled at the fact she still looked just the same as she had the day before.
"All is well on my end. How about you?" She requested in response.

"Unfortunately, not." she replied with a chirp, before waving over the waiter and nodding for a refill on both their drinks.
"I've got it covered." She added, for the inconvenience of their last encounter.
"Well, Astrasol, I'm glad to see you are well. Hopefully this pollen will pass soon."

She nodded in thanks as she finished her current drink just in time for the refill, "Thank you."
She wasn't one to talk too much with others, but there was something about a savior that warmed her heart. Or maybe it was a sense of debt. Either way, she'd need to be careful of any savior complex in the future just as much as covering her face and hair from this dreadful pollen.
