After the Aishan trees had suddenly and furiously bloomed, pollen had started to fall from the sky in never before seen quantities. The sun seemed choked by its presence and the breeze currents seemed to carry it across all of Tendaji.
Curiously enough, the impact of the pollen could be seen in earthlings...
Random earthlings across Tendaji saw cracks and fissures in their skin, shedding as if they had a sunburn. New skin tones shone through from underneath. Almost as if by magic new eye colors and crystal colors emerged with a night's rest. Earthlings changed overnight without regard to their family lineage. Brothers and sisters now sported new colors; mothers and daughters that once looked like spitting images captured the eyes of many with their sudden differences.
What could be made of these changes? The world was in upset, some overjoyed and thrilled at the new colors, others in despair as their self views shifted beneath their feet.
[ Earthlings (and those with earthling blood) have started to suddenly change colors! What does your character make of the changes? Did they change too, or do they just witness the new looks of someone close? Are they fascinated in this sudden new change, or are they in the throws of woe? Let us know how your character handles the change in the world! ]
[No color changes]

The week had started like any other, at least until the trees started to bloom. The Pollen from Chiume Isle began lightly until it started coating the entirety of Balrea. the Aishan's on the isle seemed to celebrate, Skadi could swear you could hear their celebrations on the wind. The pollen choaked the world blotting out the sun and sky it was dark similar to a storm cloud which weren't uncommon so it was only a matter of time until the sun returned.
What happened after, was a surprise to the earthlings, shocking many. Skadi watched as her classmates changed, a couple of Skadi's Classmates took a week off while others remained in the classroom giving Skadi a clear look at the change. Fissures in the skin like a sunburn, crystal's changing and hair. It didn't seem painful but Skadi detested changing herself, so she prepared the best she could in the days following.
Reluctantly wearing a mask, Skadi left home for the day to prevent herself from inhaling too much of the pollen, she disliked hiding her pretty face but Skadi knew she's detest the change more especially if she ended up a clashing set of colors having seen some already. As Skadi headed to school for the day; she wished for the change to affect the ice family she detested so much. A bit of suffering would do them good, Skadi bitterly gambled curses under her breath for the other half of her family that tore apart her happiness many years ago. Hoping it would cause turmoil among them maybe she'd be able to get her father back and they could begin again. Skadi doubted she was that lucky. There was at least one other earthling around here who was probably wishing for the same thing, the closest thing she'd call to an actual friend.
Her thoughts were cut off as a pretty little thing caught her eye she passed, and she gave them a little flutter as she made her way to the academy for classes making a note to come back this way when she was headed home. Reaching the academy gate skadi Waved to her 'friends' she made her way into the class room. She wasn't exactly known for letting anyone get too close emotionally but she kept other earthlings around to socialize, they still seemed to flock to her despite her rather crass remarks. Appearance meant everything, something Skadi learned early on when her parents separated. Her entire ice family wanted to keep up appearances. Scoffing internally Skadi shifted her attention, as a bad taste filled her mouth, she needed to put it aside to focus on the current class, not that it was easy her bitterness toward that half of her family was immense.
The stragglers filed in and a few more of her class seemed to have changed color overnight. The hybrid pulled out her project for the class and began tinkering with it as the professor began his lesson making notes as needed pausing to glance up making it look as though she was fully paying attention she needed to distract her mind. The day progressed, and she continued seeing more earthlings she seen had changed, she didn't know most of them personally. Skadi could see some freaking out as she passed them in the halls and others were taking it much calmer, suggesting dyes or makeup to make it less obvious feelings about it seemed to be mixed.
Skadi couldn't wait for the whole ordeal to be over, she didn't mind cloudy skies but she'd be glad once the pollen was gone. It was all everyone seemed to talk about and it was starting to intrude on some of the lessons mostly about the world and how it's causing this change, there isn't much known about how the tree affects earthling biology, and it wasn't a topic Skadi was overly interested in. Skadi was more interested in engineering and tinkering though it was also mostly a hobby to keep her mind distracted. Skadi had come to dislike most things around her.
Her mother being pretty famous around the academy was also rather counterproductive, the professors expected more out of her, despite doing well on her own stifling her. It was becoming exhausting everywhere and not in a good way, Skadi was wishing to just up and leave. There was a brief respite she got if only for a little while, as classes ended she made her return to the street she'd seen the gem she'd passed that morning. [758]
