After the Aishan trees had suddenly and furiously bloomed, pollen had started to fall from the sky in never before seen quantities. The sun seemed choked by its presence and the breeze currents seemed to carry it across all of Tendaji.
Curiously enough, the impact of the pollen could be seen in earthlings...
Random earthlings across Tendaji saw cracks and fissures in their skin, shedding as if they had a sunburn. New skin tones shone through from underneath. Almost as if by magic new eye colors and crystal colors emerged with a night's rest. Earthlings changed overnight without regard to their family lineage. Brothers and sisters now sported new colors; mothers and daughters that once looked like spitting images captured the eyes of many with their sudden differences.
What could be made of these changes? The world was in upset, some overjoyed and thrilled at the new colors, others in despair as their self views shifted beneath their feet.
[ Earthlings (and those with earthling blood) have started to suddenly change colors! What does your character make of the changes? Did they change too, or do they just witness the new looks of someone close? Are they fascinated in this sudden new change, or are they in the throws of woe? Let us know how your character handles the change in the world! ]

It was windy that day that the pollen drifted across the skies of Yael. Many stared at it in wonder, others ran for the cover of their homes not understanding what was happening. One sat outside in the crook of a large tree, his half moon glasses sitting low on his nose as he sat drawing something. Looking up as the first sparkles of the pollen fell across the pages of his book. The young Yaeli glanced upwards as more and more of the pollen filled the air. At times it almost looked like a thick cloud.
"What has happened now?" he muttered closing his book and slipping down the tree to the ground. Boots hitting the leaf covered ground Beowulf headed off to his teacher's house. He wondered of Laurette knew anything that was going on.
Knocking on the older woman's door, Beowulf also shook the dust from his hair. While the sparkle might have made it look nice, he doubted Laurette would like it within her house. As the door opened the woman pulled Beowulf inside before shutting her door quickly. There was a bit of concern on her face when she noticed some of the pollen dust in his hair.
'Good heavens Beowulf, how long were you out in that stuff?' she asked as she walked over to a shelf to pick up a feather duster.
"Not all that long, but seems to have been long enough that the dust or whatever it is to collect this much." He brushed off a bit then thought better of it.
'Well, lets clean it off you before anything might happen.' she says moving him to a smaller room to dust off the pollen. 'I haven't seen this dust before, I don't know what might happen if exposed to it.' Her voice was full of worry, she hadn't gone out all day. Having to replenish a poultice that had been running low.
"I am sure it won't be that bad. It seems to pass quickly and disappear after a few minutes." he said as the dust that was brushed off his body crumbled away into nothing. "See?"
Laurette frowned and had a major look of doubt on her face. He was trying to make it seem that everything would be alright, nothing bad would happen. The most of that same day, after Beowulf was well and truly free from the pollen was he allowed to help Laurette with her work. Poultices and other medicines were created, some put into packets to be given out.
It was nearing afternoon when Beowulf yawned and stretched. Looking out a window that was over the workbench the pollen seemed to thin out some. He wondered if he could slip out from the house to get home. Laurette had been worried that the stuff would have some adverse effect on Beowulf and was always checking in on him. Even for being an adult, someone was always mothering him in some way. After a few hours of the watching and always checking he groaned.
"I am going home Laurette." He announced reaching to pick up his things and head for the door. "I will come back tomorrow if anything happens."
'Alright dear, you move quickly and safely.' Laurette said nodding, knowing that she couldn't willing force him to remain confined to her house. 'I will see you in the morning.'
Beowulf made haste and left the house, stopping a moment outside the closed door to take a breath and sigh. While he was sure this pollen like dust wasn't as harmful as some, even Laurette were making it out to be. If anything with the sun touched it the sparkle made the air shine. Shaking his head again, Beowulf stepped away from Laurette's door and back out into the streets. The streets that were normally bustling and very crowded at this time of day, were strikingly vacant. This surprised him.
"Is everyone that scared of the stuff?" he asked aloud, though there was no one really around to hear him. "I suppose some might think it is the gods doing to drop this upon us. There has to be more to it then that." Pausing in thought he turned away from the streets and headed out into the trees around the village.
Stopping at one of the larger and older trees of the forest, Beowulf tugged at a rope to release the ladder from above. It was here that he had made his home, a bit away from everyone and well off the forest floor. Muttering things to himself, Beowulf headed up the ladder and into his cozy tree house of a home. Pulling the ladder back up to where it belonged, he headed inside for a nap of sorts. The events of the day were most exhausting! Flopping into his bed, he was sure the house shook as he did so, Beowulf fell asleep.
Beowulf slept until the dawn, the first rays peeking in through his open windows, he had forgotten to close the curtains the afternoon before. Really he didn't think he had been that tired. Stomach growling, Beowulf went to his small cold box to find something to eat. As he passed a small mirror that hung over a washbasin he paused. While he didn't see anything different about his appearance, there was one thing that was different. His hair seemed to be a bit more on the red side then the murky purple he had been born with. Frowning he stepped closer to the mirror and tugged at his own hair.
"Huh, that's different." He mused with a small grin, "Guess that dust, pollen, whatever it was did have some kind of effect." Laughing to himself, he looked out the window towards the village, "Laurette is going to have a heart attack.."
