After the Aishan trees had suddenly and furiously bloomed, pollen had started to fall from the sky in never before seen quantities. The sun seemed choked by its presence and the breeze currents seemed to carry it across all of Tendaji.
Curiously enough, the impact of the pollen could be seen in earthlings...
Random earthlings across Tendaji saw cracks and fissures in their skin, shedding as if they had a sunburn. New skin tones shone through from underneath. Almost as if by magic new eye colors and crystal colors emerged with a night's rest. Earthlings changed overnight without regard to their family lineage. Brothers and sisters now sported new colors; mothers and daughters that once looked like spitting images captured the eyes of many with their sudden differences.
What could be made of these changes? The world was in upset, some overjoyed and thrilled at the new colors, others in despair as their self views shifted beneath their feet.
[ Earthlings (and those with earthling blood) have started to suddenly change colors! What does your character make of the changes? Did they change too, or do they just witness the new looks of someone close? Are they fascinated in this sudden new change, or are they in the throws of woe? Let us know how your character handles the change in the world! ]Color Swatch Change: Skin: 2(Main), 3(Underbelly) Speckles: 2 Hair: 19 Eyes: Unchanged

“Oh what is this mess?” Neryssa asked her familiars as she waved the pollen away from her face. She had already spent the morning sneezing, she was sure she had thrown something out of whack.
‘They say the great trees are blooming’ muttered a gossip to their friends.
‘Yea, and it is causing a good many changes in… Everything!’ said another who seemed excited about it. ‘Do you think we will be subject to some of these changes?’
Neryssa shook her head as she passed the Geian who were talking amongst themselves. What were they talking about? Changes? It was just pollen and it was affecting everyday life and causing her to sneeze her brains out. Petting the bright green and pink spiked sitara, Neryssa headed towards the docks.
“Perhaps someone down here knows something that is going on?” she paused and looked around. Work here didn’t seem to stop, nor did anyone working even really take notice of the pollen that was drifting about.
Neryssa did notice that some seemed to have patches of skin that were of a different color. She could only wonder why there wasn’t much of a stir. Frowning she shook the pollen from her hair as it had started to cling. Just what was happening? Were these trees really throwing so much pollen into the air?
“Um excuse me?” she turned towards one of the dock hands. “Do you know what is really going on?”
The deckhand looked towards Neryssa as he hefted a large barrel on his shoulder. ‘Sorry Ma’am, I have a job to do.’ he replied walking towards one of the ships to load the barrel into its deck.
Frowning, Neryssa sneezed again as she headed back up the dock and towards one of the eating houses. Here she found many eating, drinking and talking about what was happening. Some saying that it was a curse that the Aishans were placing upon them. Others talking about how their friends are starting to change in certain ways. Different hair colors, eyes changing and even their skin tones.
“Surely they are just joking around.” Neryssa whispered with concern to the Sitara as it crawled onto the table that she sat at. “What possible reason would there be for something like this pollen to change someone’s coloring…” Even though she had seen others with patches of different skin colors.
The Sitara merely stared at Neryssa with bland interest, even the maglardilla didn’t put its own comments in. Not that they could speak in the first place. Shaking her head, Neryssa ordered something to eat while she continued to listen to the local gossip. Even those who seemed to have flaking skin were showing it off. Swallowing, Neryssa looked at her own skin and noticed that there were patches that were also flaking. Rubbing at one of the spots, the skin flaking away to reveal a much lighter skin tone.
“No. No. Nonononono…” Neryssa muttered as she stood abruptly, nearly knocking over the table and everything else atop of it. “This can not be happening. Not to me…”
Placing a few coins down on the table, Neryssa picked up her familiars and headed out of the tavern. The streets were a bustle with towns folk and other travelers. Backing away from those that acted like it was just another day, Neryssa headed towards the building she rented a room at. When she reached her room she unlocked the door and hurried inside.
“What will my mother say? I bet they will be upset.” She paced the floor as more flaked away showing that it wasn’t just the darker colors that were changing.
Staring at a mirror she noticed that even the lighter underbelly and speckles were changing colors. Her mind running far ahead of everything else, her anxiety spiking high. Neryssa picked up the mirror off its wall hook and laid it on the small table in the room. To her if she can’t see it, it’s not happening.
“Maybe… Maybe this is all just one bad dream.” She said looking towards Spike and Lygs as they watched her with concern. Well with as much concern as they could show. “Perhaps after a nap or a night’s rest things will go back to normal.”
Wringing her hands, Neryssa pulled the curtains closed against the high noon sun and flopped onto the bed. She pulled the blanket up over her head and tried to sleep. But the creaking of the floor boards below her room and the loud chatter of others made things difficult as well. Finally Neryssa was able to get some sleep. It was nearing supper time when she did shove the blanket aside.
“I hope that the dream is over.” She yawned before picking the mirror back up.
To her horror, she was completely changed. Her skin was a vastly brighter color as well as her hair was a different coloring. The only thing that was the same were her eyes. Dropping the mirror it shattered with a clatter.
“What will my sister say?” was the only thing that came to her mind as she flopped back onto the bed. “This is a nightmare..”
