After the Aishan trees had suddenly and furiously bloomed, pollen had started to fall from the sky in never before seen quantities. The sun seemed choked by its presence and the breeze currents seemed to carry it across all of Tendaji.

Curiously enough, the impact of the pollen could be seen in earthlings...

Random earthlings across Tendaji saw cracks and fissures in their skin, shedding as if they had a sunburn. New skin tones shone through from underneath. Almost as if by magic new eye colors and crystal colors emerged with a night's rest. Earthlings changed overnight without regard to their family lineage. Brothers and sisters now sported new colors; mothers and daughters that once looked like spitting images captured the eyes of many with their sudden differences.

What could be made of these changes? The world was in upset, some overjoyed and thrilled at the new colors, others in despair as their self views shifted beneath their feet.

[ Earthlings (and those with earthling blood) have started to suddenly change colors! What does your character make of the changes? Did they change too, or do they just witness the new looks of someone close? Are they fascinated in this sudden new change, or are they in the throws of woe? Let us know how your character handles the change in the world! ]

The Wind/Ice hybrid had been wandering the region of Tale like a chicken with his head lopped off. The plains and trees looked the same to him. Stopping at a bit of an impasse in the trails that lead this way and that, he wasn't too sure on where he was heading anymore. He only knew that he had to cross into Sauti to get back to Zena. Frowning, Draven sighed knowing that this was getting him no where. He was well and truly lost, yet again.

"Now where and the heck am I? First I emerge in Jauhar, now I am lost within Tale.." he looks around again, "Or what I think is Tale."

Just about to throw something, something flickered through the air. At first he thought it was some sort of dust or ash. The more is floated through, it started to cling to his clothing and hair. Brushing it away, he noticed that it was some sort of pollen. Was there some large field of flowers that just unleashed its pollen? This late in the season? Glancing around, Draven took one side of the two way trek and started off again, reaching a stand of trees not knowing what he would find.

[[ Aldara 1 ]]

"Shoot, shoot, shoot." Uttered a young Leaf/Wind hybrid as she stopped for a moment between a couple of trees. "Why did I agree to do this? Papa knows I would rather just stay at home."

She was in complete shambles, the outside world was a big place and she didn't like it that much. A hand resting against the rough bark of a tree, she looked around with bright green eyes. Aldara hated being outside, she was happier in the house and doing what she can there.

"'Need some berries, you're old enough to get them yourself.' he says. 'It'll be fine' he says. Well this is not fun anymore!" she argued with herself as she looked around. "Should have stayed closer to home then this." she muttered looking around.

It was at this time she noticed the pollen that started drifting through the trees. It glittered and sparkled like a fine dust on the wind that rustled the leaves and through her light brown hair. Standing stalk still, she didn't know what was happening. Panic was starting to set into her bones as she stepped backwards as if it were going to keep the pollen away from her.

"I ever make it home I am never leaving it again." She said backing up more, stumbling over a barely visible root, twisting and falling against another warm body that was passing behind her...

Dark blue eyes was more focused on the branches over head and not really on where he was going. His long ears sort of picked up the utterings of another. Just as he was going to glance around at his surroundings, something tumbled and slammed into him. Stumbling to the side himself, Draven grabbed a hold of whatever it had been that was falling. He twisted to try and steady his footing, but he too ended up on the ground.

"What the heck.." he muttered with a groan, his ears kinda ringing from his head hitting the ground.

Lifting his head, one eye closed against the pain that was blooming on the back of his head, he stared down at the brown hair that was pressed to his chest. Just what had fallen into him? Shifting to try and sit up and not really drop whatever it was, he soon noticed that a pair of large bright green eyes were staring back at him. Stunned, he just half laid there in a sort of staring contest.

"I am so dead." was all that ran through his mind as he realized, too late, that it was a young girl that was half laying on him. His other thoughts were soon over shadowed as she screamed loud enough to scatter the birds over head.

Falling, this was what she felt before she collided with something that seemed to give with her. At first she thought she was just falling into a bush, it was warm and soft like sun bathed leaves. It was only when something wrapped around her did she realize that it was not bush, it was something else! Heart pounding in her ears she and whatever she had run into collided with the ground. Her head was pressed to the chest of someone and she could quite clearly hear their heartbeat. Aldara, scared to move, dared not until the body she half laid upon started to move. As she turned her head upwards to see the face of the person she was speechless.

He had lovely dark blue eyes, darker than even the starless night's sky. Thoughts ran through her head before her instincts kicked in and she found herself screaming and scrambling away from the other earthling.

"Who are you? What do you want?" she continued to scream as the older man sat up, just staring at her. "Why were you sneaking up on me? Don't tell me you are one of those.. Those.." Her mind stuttered as she tried to think of the things her father had always warned her of.

She continued to watch this man, her breathing coming in gasps as around them the pollen swirled and fluttered. Perhaps it was that, that was making her think that she had collided with someone. "It's got to be this strange pollen. It has effected my brain." She shook her head trying to clear her head, but when she opened her eyes he was still there, now crouching in front of her. This making her scramble backwards again. "I don't like it out here anymore, I want to go home!"

[[ Draven 3 ]]

The screaming made him let the girl go, not that he was holding her for any reason other then to make sure that she was alright. As she scrambled backwards across the ground he just watched her for a moment as he propped himself up with his arms. Taking it slow he managed to sit upright. His blade poking into his back as he had attached it over his shoulder for easier carrying though the trees. Then there was also his pack that was a little smooshed from the fall.

"Sneaking? Hey! You ran into me!" Draven protested as the girl threw accusations in his direction. "If you'd please stop screaming, I will tell you what you want to know, but I can't..."

Shifting some, he came to be crouching in front of her. The way her lungs worked, she didn't seem injured from what he could tell. But he wasn't sure if the fall had left any other injuries that he couldn't see. Standing and moving away from the girl, she looked, to him, about 16 or 17, he wasn't too sure. Certainly old enough to be out on her own at the very least.

"I am Draven, I am trying to find my way to Zena." He began as it seemed that the girl was calming down... A little, though there was still that paniced look in her eyes. "You sure you are alright?" he, at the moment, has forgotten about the pollen that was swirling around them.

[[ Aldara 3 ]]

Heart still racing to the point she thought she was going to pass out, Aldara looked towards the man that had said that his name was Draven. It was a start she supposed and he wasn't making any advances like she was sure others would have. She was, after all, a defenseless girl in the woods. Far from any help should... Aldara shook her head to try and shoo off such thoughts. Surely not everyone was that dark.

Taking a deep breath, Aldara tried calming her heart and get her nerves under control. She was a lady after all and this wasn't how ladies acted, right? Picking herself up off the ground, or at least she would have if her left ankle didn't buckle beneath her weight and cause her to sit back onto the ground. She glanced down as the muscle around her ankle started to swell, peachy!

"I'm Aldara." She said fixing her skirts, she was wearing a skirt, to hide her ankle from sight, even though it was clear that they had both seen it. "Zena? That is still a few weeks walk from here. Sauti still lies between." She said watching Draven from her spot on the ground.

[[ Draven 4 ]]

There was a skeptical look on Draven's face, though she never answered his question, seems that she had been avoiding it. But as he watched her try and stand only to land back on the ground, he noticed that one ankle was thicker then the other. Seems she had indeed hurt herself in the fall. Shaking his head as she hid her injury and started speaking.

"Yea, I emerged from some underground tunnels in Jauhar. I had been in Zena before that." He rubbed the back of his own head feeling a distinctive bump. Yep, he had landed himself an injury, though far less then what had happened to Aldara. "I have to try and get back there the fastest I can. I left some... Things up there and worry that something may happen to them." He looks away for a moment before glancing back towards Aldara's questioning look.

"It is nice to meet you Aldara, even in this situation." He crouched again. "You going to be able to make it out of here on your own?" He had noted the sinking of the sun, while it was still time before it sunk beyond the distant horizon. He suspected a good four more hours at the very least.

Aldara's heart has slowed a bit by this time and wasn't hammering in her ears. Being able to hear more properly was a great thing as she continued to watch this older earthling, Draven he had said his name was. He seemed to be dressed simply with a sword and traveling pack on his back. She did blink a couple times when hearing that he had emerged from tunnels in Jauhar after being in Zena.

"Tunnels? There are tunnels beneath the ground?" The was something that pulled another bout of fear through her.

Tunnels? There were things living beneath the surface of the ground? What else was she going to discover out here? Pulling her knees up to her chest, wincing because of her ankle she really wasn't liking it out here.

"I want to go home..." She sniffed, tears welling in the corners of her eyes. "My ankle hurts. I don't know where anything is. Now even the ground is not safe to be on. Is there any safe place around here?" She spoke more to herself then to Draven, though the last question she did glance towards him.

[[ Draven 5 ]]

Draven looked at the girl with great concern. Seems what he mentioned wasn't something she wanted to hear. Her mentioning wanting to go home, but not knowing where. She did admit that she had hurt herself, or at least that her ankle did hurt.

"I can try and help you with your ankle. I can at least bind it so it will hopefully help with the pain and swelling." He offered, "There are creatures beneath the surface called Dretch. Nasty things, I fell for one of their traps in Zena and was carted across to Jauhar apparently."

He was trying to be a little comforting as he waited for her answer. As well, he rolled his pack off his shoulders to fish around for anything that could be used to help bind her ankle. While he had no real medical stuff, he did have an old shirt that could be torn up into strips.

"I really hadn't meant to fall into their trap. It was just a strange thing and dismounted to get a closer look." Draven continued as Aldara watch him tear the shirt into strips of cloth, sometimes using the blade of his sword to cut it in places. "But now I have to get back to Zena, my mounts are up there. One in the forest where I had found said trap. I can only hope that he hasn't caused too much mayhem while I have been gone."

[[ Aldara 5 ]]

Pouting fiercely, Aldara watched Draven as he shredded a shirt to make strips of cloth to wrap around her foot and ankle. Was this really how she had to meet others? There surely was a less painful way and less dusty as the pollen had grown thicker through the trees. Sneezing a couple of times, the dust falling from her hair to create another cloud. Was there an end to it?

"Dretch? What are those?" she asked, "They don't sound like something anyone would want to tangle with." She glanced back towards Draven as it seemed that he was finished shredding the shirt.

She sat there a moment, absently rubbing her ankle, the skin was hot and the swelling felt like it was getting worse with the pain. After a moment she sighed and shifted to extend her foot towards Draven, she was trusting him and her trust was easily taken away at the first wrong move.

"Do you know if any of their traps are around here? I would hate to fall for one." She looked around the road that they were currently on. "Also, how am I supposed to get home like this? I can't even stand, let alone walk." there was that whine in her voice. She felt lost, alone and very frightened. When she did make it home, she was going to never leave it again.

[[ Draven 6 ]]

Draven took the trust and scooched forward to rest Aldara's foot on his lap. Taking the strips of cloth and started wrapping it around her ankle. The felt the girl flinch as he did, but continued, also he continued to talk to distract her from what he was doing and hopefully the pain.

"Dretch are nasty bug like creatures that live under the surface. Their traps are fairly well made, you sometimes never see them until you have walked into them and get sting by something coated in their poison." He paused as he heard a gasp, "The poison ain't enough to kill you, but it does knock you out and they can do whatever with your body. I woke up with only my underpants on, in a dark room with others. Some with more energy then I ever thought of having." He chuckled tying off the ends of the cloth.

"That should hold you until we can find your house. Or at least someone heading that direction. As I have mentioned, I am in a hurry to reach Zena." Glancing around a bit, the road was eerily quiet and vacant besides the two of them. "If I had Regale, I would get you home easily, but he is up north. So..." He shuffled his pack around, hanging his blade back to his side. "Could always carry you back to your house? Or at least to a safe place, don't think we'll make it too much further today before the sun sets completely."

[[ Aldara 6 ]]

Aldara flinched when pressure was applied to her ankle, but she knew it was for the best. She just wanted to get out of these woods and back to civilization. Nature was getting to be too much for her. She did listen to Draven as he explained about the Dretch. She shivered knowing that these were creatures that she didn't want to be tangling with. When he was finished, Aldara pulled her foot away from him and examined the work he had done.

"That settles it, when I get home I am locking myself up in my room and never leaving." She said adamantly, nodding as well as she spoke. "Father can go on his adventures out into these wild places, I am just staying home."

Looking back towards Draven, it seemed that he was frowning at her as she spoke. She supposed that he was an adventurer as well, what with the weapon at his side and the pack on his back. Also the scruffy look he was getting. Didn't he know to take care of himself? Or was this just a thing with those that roamed the lands. Senses coming back to her, Aldara barely heard him when he mentioned carrying her. Catching the end of it, staying out here past dark? Oh heck no!

"OH, oh no. I don't want to be out here that long!" Aldara fussed. "My parents are sure to be worried if I don't get home before the sun set." Playing with the hem of her skirts, she bit her lower lip trying to think. She knew that he had a point of carrying her, but did he really have to?

"Alright, I will allow you to carry my, but no funny business!" she said after a few moments, there was now a serious expression on her face. One that said that she wasn't going to take anything from anyone, she did have a hidden dagger for emergencies, but she didn't want to reveal it if she didn't have to.

Taking a breath, Aldara shifted her weight to her good foot and moved to get up the best she could, her left ankle paining the whole time as she tried not to put too much pressure on that leg. "Lets give this a try, shall we?"

[[ Draven 7 ]]

Draven watched Aldara as it seemed that her mood change from that of a scared child who jumped at their shadow. To becoming a more mature young woman who was barely trusting the ground beneath her. He could only chuckle and shake his head. Shifting his pack again, he reached out as she started to stand, fearing that she might hurt herself more.

"Easy, try not to put too much weight on that ankle." he says with worry.

Moving to place an arm around her waist, he twisted around to hoist her up onto his back. The pack was squished between them, but he figured it would help make a small barrier between them. "Wrap your arms around my neck and hold on, I am going to continue down the road. The direction I was going at least, perhaps we can find something that way."

Draven heard not a sound from Aldara, but could feel her at least nod as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Looking around once more, Draven turned and headed down the road once more. His dark gaze turned towards the skies as the sun had started to dip towards the horizon. Were they really doing all that for so long? It felt like he had just bumped into Aldara not by a few minutes ago... Perhaps it was because of all the mood swings she had been going through that caused time to pass so quickly.

The further down the road they walked, the pollen had eased up now to just be a glitter upon the breeze. He had heard Aldara sneeze again behind him, he was glad that she was silent for the time being, with how loose her arms had become, he supposed she might have fallen asleep. It was just as well. The sun had set even further and the shadows of night were starting to grow long. This caused Draven to frown as they hadn't quite reached a town or village, but there was one thing.

There were some sort of light ahead of them, a squat little house sat at the road side. Perhaps a wayhouse? There was only one way to check, heading that way, Draven reached the house. Using one arm to hold Aldara up, he used his other to knock on the door.

'Coming, coming' came a voice from within. As the door opened a short older, grandmother older, woman opened her door. 'Can I help you deary?' she asked before looking up at Draven carrying Aldara. 'Oh my, why didn't you say you weren't alone, come in, come in.' the woman said moving to pull Draven inside.

"Sorry to intrude, but I was... Ack!" He had begun before the woman pulled him inside and closed the door behind him. Stumbling a couple of steps he managed to regain his balance and make sure he didn't drop Aldara.

'Nasty night to be outside with the pollen floating around.' the grandmother said as she shuffled over. 'what were you two young things doing out there? hmm?'

"I am trying to get back to Zena and she..." He glanced back at Aldara who was jolted awake, "Think she got lost somewhere and ended up hurting her ankle. I was trying to take her home."

She wasn't even aware that she had fallen asleep while she watched where Draven was going. He had lifted her so easily onto his back and resting against his back just felt comforting. It was only when Draven had been pulled into the small house did she awaken, bright eyes blinking at the surroundings. She knew this place! A small squeak came from her as Draven stumbled, though he did well to keep his balance and not drop her in the process. Then there was the voice of the older woman, she knew that voice too! Peering over Draven's shoulder as he spoke to the shorter, grandmother like woman, Aldara could feel herself tearing up.

"Grandma Aggy!" Aldara said as she pulled herself away from Draven, her feet hitting the floor hard. Her left ankle just about giving up on her as she clung to Draven to get through the pain and soon stumble over to the woman. "I don't like it in the woods Grandma. I want to go home!" She sobbed as Grandma Aggy hugged Aldara.

'Hush sweet sapling, home is just around the corner.' Aggy said trying to comfort Aldara who was just a mess of sobs and hiccups. 'Lets get you to a seat and get that foot up.'

Aldara let her grandmother walk her over to an over stuffed chair and place her in it. She put her foot up on a stool to help bring down the swelling. When she was settled, Aggy motioned for Draven to take a seat too, which he seemed grateful from where Aldara was seated, her vision still blurred from tears.

'Now what were you doing out so far Aldara. This is not like you.' Grandma asked as she placed a kettle on metal arm to hang over the fire in her fire place, 'I have never known you to stray too far from home.'

"Mom wanted a certain flower and asked me to grab her some. I searched for them, I searched and searched. There was also a few berries I wanted to get for a pie, but I didn't find them either. I just go hopelessly lost. Tripped over something and..." She glanced towards Draven who was leaning back on the sofa as if it were the first comfortable thing he has sat on in a long time. "Bumped into him. He seems nice, didn't do anything bad like some tell of strangers."

Grandma Aggy only chuckled and shook her head as she pulled the whistling kettle off ther fire and poured water into a teacup and handed it to Aldara. 'There are those who are evil. Not everyone is that way Aldara. The boy here seems to be one with good morals.' she glanced at Draven. 'You both can stay here the night, safer then outside. the night creatures will be awakening now.'

"Thank you Grandma, I don't think I could stand to stay the night outside." She said looking away, this caused Aggy to laugh.

'Come on, lets get you to your room.' Aggy said helping Aldara up and towards the room that was always ready for her.
