He was still living in Matori and he thought it must be a strange year because of all the pollen even at this time of year. He shook his head, it was everywhere, coated everything, and it was kinda sparkly. He had no idea what was going on. He sneezed a few times but other than that did not notice anything out of the ordinary as he went about his day trying to commune with the weather as his teacher was telling him. He sighed, it was hard to deal with the electric energy of a storm it liked to do whatever in a couple forks going all directions at once. Bratty magic indeed. He loved it though, its beautiful wild nature, so at odds with the life of a book sellers son. He had had a very peaceful childhood, he was grateful that his prentice stage was so far quite exciting. He had no idea exactly how much more exciting it was about to get either. Things were pretty slow and steady for the most part in his life. Though he thought he might travel soon, just to see what was out there besides Belrea which wasn't really a great time for him. Too many people, too close together and too busy to boot. Nope Tendaji was right for him, maybe not the large cities here either but there was just so much more to Belrea, so much that didn't seem natural to him at all. It was such a weird place. Anyway, moving on! It was a nice day out despite the pollen that permeated everywhere.
His skin itched and it looked like he had gotten some sun burn, funny, his skin usually didn't do that. Hmmm. He rubbed at his arms to see the skin flaking and looking dark. A bad sun burn, he looked out into the sky. Yikes, what kind of rays were happening out there that he got a bad burn from just being outside, strange. He put some cream on and continued his day.
The next morning the burn looked worse, and he screeched when he looked in the mirror. Who was that?! UGH. The gods had been up to something or he accidentally ate mushrooms or he was still asleep and having a bad dream..right? Nothing but a bad dream. Except pinches hurt, darnit. He flew out of his little cabin to find many others in just such a scary predicament. He was terrified and slightly weirded out but at least they were not alone. Apparently the pollen was a bit more than just pollen. He had thought it had had a smug magical sparkle to it. He glared at the stuff that had completely changed what he looked like, at least he was still handsome but he looked not at all like his old self, only the crystals were the right size and the right spot but almost everything else had been altered by the trees. What kind of power was that to affect all that the wind touched just about. Pollen travelled far it seemed when large magical trees were exuberantly celebrating love. Touching but it had gotten a bit touchy with his coloration.
He couldn't help it, he went back inside. He had gotten so dark, which had a charming effect thankfully but it was a striking contrast to his normal self, he was no longer too overly blue. He still had blue skin but it changed hues, he had dark Teal eyes now and dark teal hair plus forest green crystals many shades darker than his used to be, it was just so much change. Other people it sometimes chose just one trait to mess with but on him it looked like it had reshuffled everything.
"Did ja make a mistake up there in the god realms eh?" He said to no one in particular. He knew it was the randomness of magic and whatever fate was out there. That was good enough for him.
He still couldn't stop looking in the mirror, he wasn't overly vain but well he couldn't get used to it, no one recognized him, it was like he had changed identities, problem was he was okay with just being himself. But from the sounds of it this may be a permanant change unless it was some cosmic practical joke that would go away with sleep just like it kind of came if you didn't could the skin flaking. He sighed. He guessed this weird new face was his now.
