Personality
Virtues: Committed – Emry learned at a young age that commitment can often lead to success. He sets goals for himself and has the determination to reach them. He doesn’t shy away from putting in the time and effort necessary to get him there. Emry has an impressive work ethic for someone his age, and a single-minded focus to carry him through. He isn’t easily distracted and devotes himself to his obligations, often without complaint.
Responsible – With much of his attention focused elsewhere, Emry doesn’t have the time for normal teenage shenanigans. He grew up fast out of necessity, which has given him a sense of responsibility not always shared by his peers. Emry goes to practice and keeps up with his studies without being harassed. He follows the rules and procedures for any given situation. He can take care of himself in a variety of circumstances, without putting himself into a position to need much assistance.
Persistent – If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Emry isn’t the type to give up or back down from a challenge. He may take his time, or retreat long enough to regroup, but once he has a game plan he gets right back to whatever endeavor he’s put his mind to. Emry is a firm believer in the idea that you can’t get anywhere in life without falling a few times, you just have to know the proper way to fall in order to avoid as much damage as possible. Getting up after is the true test.
Flaws: Insensitive – Emry can be judgmental of others; he expects a lot from himself, and has been known to project similar expectations onto other people. He can be crass when annoyed, aloof when he’s nervous, and unresponsive when someone has angered him. Sometimes, Emry has a hard time putting himself in somebody else’s shoes. It isn’t that he lacks empathy, he simply doesn’t completely understand how other people think, feel, or behave, and he hasn’t always made the effort to try.
Obstinate – Getting Emry to do something he doesn’t want to do can be a bit like talking to a brick wall; similarly, talking him out of something can be next to impossible. He knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to get it. If he holds an opinion about something, it can take a lot to change his mind. Emry is headstrong to a fault, often to the detriment of himself and others.
Impetuous – Emry feels emotions strongly, and expresses them through various outbursts and abrupt changes of mood. He has been known to act without thinking, making hasty decisions based on what he wants or how he feels more than any deep thought or plan. That isn’t to say he’s incapable of deep thought or planning, but if he comes to a decision quickly, chances are he might jump right in instead of waiting long enough to determine the possible consequences.
