Profession Guide
Professions are something that is tracked on the Character Sheet section of your Character Log. All Professions start at Level 1. You may have up to 3 Professions. You cannot abandon a Profession. You can start a Profession or Level Up a Profession by putting a Profession Level Point into the Profession, keeping track of this on your Character Log. You gain a Profession Level Point when you first create your Character, and then you get another Profession Level Point when your Character reaches Level 5, and then every 5 Levels after that, leading to a total of 20 Profession Level Points available at a Character's Maximum Level of 100.
Unspent Profession Level Points can be stored on the Character Log under the Profession Levels section of the Character Sheet.
Professions give you access to a Profession Ability that can be used once a month. Typically this Profession Ability involves obtaining or creating an Item. You will be rolling a 20-sided dice in order to determine the results and/or quality of the Profession Ability. The result of your Dice Roll is determined by what you roll plus the associated Active Profession Level on your Active Stats part of your Character Log.
Example :
Cooking(+3) Profession Ability Roll!
-rolls a 10-
(10 Dice Roll + 2 Cooking Level + 1 Cooking Bonus) = 13 Roll Value
These Profession Abilities typically require some kind of cost or location requirement, or both.
Use of Profession Abilities is tracked on your Character Log. You will make a post saying "Profession Ability for ProfessionName used at LocationName. The actual Property/Building or Micro-Realm that you used the Profession Ability at should be dated the same day as the matching Post in your Character Log.
You can find all of the available Professions in the Profession Database sub-forum.
If you would like to create a new Profession that is not in the database already, please look at the next post in this thread.
