Halley was sitting on a bench with a walkman she'd rescued from a thrift store humming as she fiddled with the tape that went into it. Apparently it'd unwound itself and she had found a pencil to wind it back tight.
When she was done she put the tape into the walkman and attached the portable speakers she had and hit play. She'd dug out the spookiest/monstery mash type of songs and put them onto a tape. She was jamming out to werewolf of london since she'd managed to fix the tape.
"Ah glad this works. I wasn't expecting these speakers to work, sounds pretty 90's but that's fine." She swayed to the music, "It might help with ghost hunting to... since they're kind of stacticy maybe it'd be good conductor for a EVP when using the static."

Wezen was strangely silent. For how tall she was, and how unconcerned she was with making noise or being spotted by someone she assumed would be friendly because of their aura, she walked without making a sound. She supposed it was just a part of her past, though she was not the type to analyze things like that or try to draw conclusions about herself. She knew what she needed to know about herself: it was this new world and everything in it that she was more interested in.
She just allowed her aura to announce her presence, sometimes, before she started to speak. She had been standing behind the bench for a short moment, listening to words and watching actions she did not understand. She did not move closer or step into better lighting, nor did she come around the front of the bench so she could at least be seen.
No, she just started talking in her flat, soft, but fathomlessly curious voice that always rang with just a hint of unintentional sarcasm..
"What is that contraption?" She asked abruptly, from over Halley's shoulder.

Had Halley felt the other's aura? Maybe. Had she noticed it? No she really didn't pay it attention as she worked with the walkman to get it to work so when the senshi was snuck up on and other spoke she gave a startled squeak as she looked up and around mildly panicked until she saw the other.
"OH. . . . uhhhh hi!" She said sheepishly when the question finally registered there was an owlish blink. "Oh it's a walkman that I attached some old computer speakers to so I could have portable music. I didn't want to carry boombox or use my phone to play something. Not to mention I'm trying to figure out how well this works so I can try to use it for EVP sessions when I go looking for ghosts."
There was a thoughtful minute as she looked at the other senshi, "You remember the 90's walkman and the computer speakers right?" Surely this senshi was old enough to have lived in the 90's on earth right?
She smiled, "Have you ever seen any ghosts?" Halley was looking up at Wezen like she hopefully expected an answer that was more than a hell no ghosts don't exist.
"OHH also, I'm Halley, Senshi of Superstition!" She added as an after thought since she hadn't met Wezen before.

Wezen was not unused to surprising people, and looked at the senshi blandly as she jumped. This was basically just as normal as someone waving or laughing when they saw an actual friend, as far as reactions to Wezen went. She nodded her head, but quickly returned her attention to the strange device the other was holding.
Her eyes very slowly lifted and returned to Halley's face as the other spoke. While it was not uncommon for someone to say something she did not understand, she suddenly felt like she had completely lost her grasp on human communication and all forms of language.
She blinked, staring.
"I do not remember the 90's," she confirmed, after a very, long pause. A much too long pause. After another one, she nodded stiffly. "I have seen ghosts."
She moved to get into a better position around the other senshi so she could hold her hand out very stiffly in greeting. She had been told to be polite and to introduce herself properly, and so far this handshake situation seemed to be working out for her the best. At the very least, most people were responsive enough to give it a shake, and the contact told her they were properly introduced. It was easy enough to understand.
"Halley," she said, committing it to memory as best as she was able. "I am Wezen, Senshi of Haunting."

Halley paused when the other seemed lost and said they did not remember the 90's. She looked Wezen over curiously as if there was something that was strange enough to ask questions but the senshi of superstition did not know which questions to ask.
"If you don't remember the 90s . . . " She paused, "Do you mind if I ask roughly how old you are? 20's?" It would explain how the other missed the 90s right? If they were in their 20s.
However she lit up excitedly as Wezen said she had seen ghosts, "Really!? That's amazing! I've been hunting proof of them for yearssss."
There was a pause as she watched the other move to a very stiff position offering their hand. Halley was trying to figure out if they were just socially awkward or if there was more going on with this. "Ah nice to meet you Wezen." She took the stiffly offered hand and gave it a shake. "You have a very cool sounding sphere!"
The other was super excited now though since this vaguely odd senshi gave her information of having seen ghosts. "So what were the ghosts like that you have seen?" She asked curiously.

Wezen paused for a moment.
"My roommate estimated that I am over 200 of Earth's years old. There were no such concepts of time on my planet. We existed, until we did not."
She watched the other and almost, slightly, seemed to open up a bit. She did enjoy talking about things she knew, and did not care if it was her dead planet, or the food Sinistra had introduced her to the night before. She had no strong feelings that she recognized, either way, and was just eager to learn more from any person she encountered.
"Now that I vaguely understand the idea, I believe there were many ghosts on my planet. I am the Senshi of Haunting, however, so more often than not, I force others to confront their own version of the word. Whatever haunts a human, I have seen, is not always dead."
"On my planet," she continued, trying to answer the question she was given, "I learned that beings from all over were sent there to die. To toil in work and as a part of a greater machine, to lose all sense of themselves and suffer until they simple stopped existing. I never saw any of them, and if I did, I did not know how to recognize them. But the ghosts... the planet was haunted. The more beings that ended their lives there, the more difficult things became for those who toiled. Darkness consumed it. Chaos fed on those restless, homeless spirits that my planet had no place for."
She did not seem to notice that what she was saying might be a bit heavy or dark, speaking just as blandly and almost conversationally as she had been before.

Halley paused when the other said they were roughly 200 in earth years. It took a minute to process but the more Wezen spoke the more Halley was trying not to light up.
Even the dark nature of the sphere and planet's propose was almost exciting to her. Learning something besides earth - it was like a real life horror movie. She was sure it wasn't like something she'd enjoy and it sounded terrible to actually have to live in. That didn't stop her excitement it also didn't stop her from assuming that was why Wezen was so stiff.
"That sounds awful to have to live in, like a horror movie." She paused, "But the ghosts, I'd love to have seen the world before chaos consumed it."
"Maybe, if you want I can try to help you heal your world? If and when you want to go visit." She paused and stopped, had she ever been her her own homeworld? After thinking a bit she shook her head. "Huh, actually I've never been to my own homeworld. I need to fix that one day and see what it's like - or what's left of it."
This was something for her to think about and work on, but never mind that. "So how do you like earth?" She asked curiously.

Wezen watched Halley with mounting curiosity. Usually, when she mentioned her backstory to someone their eyes became dark and soft, or sometimes shimmery. They would say things like 'sorry' and 'that's so sad', though Wezen could not agree. Even if they were right, she never felt things like that, for herself or others.
This one was different, though. She seemed excited, her energy lifting rather than becoming heavy. She did not try to look away, as others did, or change the subject. Wezen nodded her head to the assessment, thoughtful in a stoic way.
"It was a strange place, compared to here. It would be very different, but I suppose worth a look. If you were meant to stay there, though, your life was already over. There was nothing else." She wondered about returning there, as others wanted to do with their home worlds. In her mind, it was better left to rot and be forgotten.
This planet was worth saving, however.
"I do not wish to heal it. It was a place of death, so death suits it. But I would be very interested in seeing your homeworld, if you are able to take a guest with you." She was still working on manners, and was not quite aware enough to not invite herself along. "But Earth is... beautiful. Strange and ugly, but that is what makes it alive. It allows me to be alive. For the first time."

Halley seemed thoughtful as Wezen mentioned if someone was there their life was already over. "Ahhhh that is unfortunate about that being the complete end of the line." She was a bit melancholy over the fact that is where a lot spent the last moments of their days.
"Ah earth does have it's lovely quirks that makes it home. I mean besides oxygen and things we need to live." Did the homeworlds also have oxygen or was it just magic that let them breath on the other locations? Halley was curious how that would work.
Halley seemed to think wondering if her homeworld was as macabre as Wezen's. Surely not when it was based on superstition. "OH! I'd love some company!" She said when Wezen invited herself along, Halley didn't mind and actually it was a good excuse to go to her homeworld. "I think I should be able to take a guest with me, I'd have to find out since I've never tried!" She chuckled sheepishly, "Maybe I can find another senshi or a cat to answer that question."
So obviously that was settled her and Wezen had a field trip to schedule -- after she did some research on if she could take along passengers. Maybe it wouldn't be that difficult?
