aw, poor guild. *pets guild*
yea, i've heard that argument too. i've seen websites that try to use science against itself. one argument was trying to debunk bacterial evolution. the person stated that if you get sick by bacteria and you take medicine to kill them, but there are some that survive, those bacteria that survived didn't mutate to become resistant to the medicine that you took. the medicine resistant bacteria already existed before you took the medicine, which is why they were in you and you couldn't kill them.
that's just silly. before you even feel sick, the bacteria susceptible to medicinal treatment could have mutated a million times. yea, the mutated bacteria were there before you took the medicine, but they weren't always there.

Fundies Say the Darndest Things has a lot of hilariously bad arguments. Possibly the worst are things like "how did water evolve", although my personal favorite is "if we evolved from monkeys, how come we can't speak monkey?" There are some really moronic people out there.

"How do you explain complicated things such as how the earth was formed or blood clots?" stare Let's all just start jumping to one conclusion, and forget about science. Quote: and i hate how religious folk say we evolved from monkeys I wish that people who use that agruement would take a physical anthropolgy class. No anthropologist would ever claim that we evolved from monkeys.

what I think is funny is that in reality, even if you were to believe such a thing, they know that we came from chimps and gorillas, which are apes and primates, separate from monkeys. but they still say "monkeys" to make it sound more ridiculous and derogatory to devalue the claim.
one time i was arguing this point with a creationist, and just for fun, when she asked me why there were still monkeys around, I told her that it was all part of Gods plan. God needs there to still be monkeys to remind us of how special we are. I actually got her to believe it! man thats stupid.

Last year in Science we discussed the origins of the planet eg. creationism, big bang etc. Nearly everyone in my class chose creationism as how they thought the world started........... I thought what the????? their basic argument was "that it's a lot easier to believe that Adam & Eve existed rather than only a few monkeys evolved leaving the rest behind"
rofl Chew on that for a while...................... rofl rofl rofl rofl

Hello Anti-Creationism Guild, My name is Uchihas Blood and I am an atheist. Bwaha. One of the worst arguments is when I was arguing with someone because they started pressin fundamentalist christianity on me. I said that I believe in something that has reliable proof, and she said; "Well I believe in the truth." I was like, WTF?

The worst arguments I've seen are the ones that come from people who are well spoken.
ID, for example. They insist that complex systems can't naturally result from simple systems, and that therefore there must have been somebody at the wheel. This sounds good to a lot of people, except for the ones who realize that said pilot would then have to be more complex than the species they've been tweaking, and thus must have had an infinate chain of infinate complexity behind their existance.
In terms of "Damn stupid" arguments, I'd say basically anybody who says that there has to be something before the big bang as "you can't get something from nothing without breaking causality" and "the universe can't have always existed", and then immediately insist that means the universe must have been created by a supernatural being... which has always existed and breaks causality.

Once, when someone was arguing the age of the earth with me, I brought up dinosaurs. Their response was, "God put the bones on earth to test our faith!" {{rolls eyes}}
