[Avari Fusion] vs Rex Kobra

The following match is scheduled for one fall!

 

[-Nuclear Fusion-]

A guitar riff cuts out the noise in the arena as the beginning to Black Flame rings out across the arena.




Here I stand, alone, with hate
Here I stand, too long, too late

A flurry of fireworks shoot in an arc on either side of the stage, going back and forth several times before simmering down in to a low 'fizz' that keeps going.

Avari Fusion steps out on stage to a loud pop from the crowd. Wearing jeans, boots, and a flourishing blue jacket, The Man of the Hour was ready to steal the show, as he usually does.





The crowd let out a huge cheer for the fan favourite, as he put out his arms in an 'eagle' motion. He stepped to the left of the ramp and beat his chest, hopping over to the right and doing the same.


Oh my Brother, how could you?
Not look into the eyes of your fellow man
Who stood with you, through it all
And feel nothing in your heart but hate


Avari walked out to the edge of the stage, looking over the ramp and at the crowd left and right, who were still buzzing for the spectacle. He nodded his head as the announcer came over the PA.

"Making his way to the ring.. weighing in at 230 pounds.. fighting from London, England and residing in Toronto, Ontario.. Avari! Fusion!"

Another loud pop came for Avari as he breathed in deep and readied himself for another bout here, one step closer to Survivor Series, ready for his shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.


Red stain on the blade
All sense of worth has been washed away
Sacrifice was all in vain
Where's the sense of guilt? Where's the shame?


Eventually reaching the ring, Avari slides under the bottom rope and rolls, standing up on his feet. He takes a walk to one of the corners and hops up on to the turnbuckle, raising a fist in the air to another pop from the crowd.


Lost soul in the unmarked grave
We have given a name
Black flame
In death we are all the same
Remain, black flame


He takes the time to go to each turnbuckle and repeat the process, soaking in the crowd as he does so.

Eventually the music dies down as Avari slowly removes his blue jacket, passing it to a stage hand as he readies himself for the match.

 

[Undead Superstar]

The lights in the arena go out, plunging the crowd into darkness. There is a slow beat that seeps from the speakers. As the main music of The Devil's Rejects hits the speakers, red lights turn on focusing on the stage. Standing in the center of it is a figure wearing a long hooded coat alongside a woman standing off the side and to the back. Rex Kobra, ready for more violence, and his sister accompanying her high priest as she must. He stands for a moment on the stage, staring at the ring. He slowly raises his arms up at his sides, prompting flames to rise on either side of him. He stands between them for a moment before lowering his arms and causing the flames to dissipate. As the flames die down, the rest of the lights turn on all red as well, bathing the entire arena in a reddish glow.

Rex starts down the ramp, his sister following along behind. His attention remaining fixed on the ring. Stranding in the ring was a Fusion. A member of an esteemed family that he had yet to face in the ring. Now it was his chance. The Son of the Redeemer vs The Defiler. It was going to be a glorious display of pain, a message to the world of the Power of the Serpent

"Introducing first, accompanied by The Vipress Ramona Tyler...he is the leader and High Priest of The Cult of the Serpent, weighing in at 328 lbs...all the way from Salem, Oregon...The Defiler.....Rex Kooooooobra."

Yeah I am the knuckle

Rex stops at the end of end of the ramp, and raises his arms to his sides. He can feel the power of the ring. His cathedral to drag people to new found faith. Lowering his arms, he makes his way to the steps and stomps up them. At the top, he moves to the middle of the apron and climbs into the ring by stepping over the top rope. In the ring, he moves to the center and drops to his knees. He then lowers his hood. He stares ahead of him, not focusing his gaze on the crowd but instead of the reddish glow of the lights. The red that will fuel him through the match to come.

Rex stands, removes his coat and aviator sunglasses, and hands them off to his sister who takes them and sets them on the steps in his corner. Then Rex stands in his corner, eyes on his new prey, waiting for the match to begin.  

[-Nuclear Fusion-]

Avari Fusion steps forward towards the center of the ring, the red putting out his arm to keep him from going too much further. He held his arms out to a loud pop from the crowd, showing the fearless streak in him.

Rex was a much bigger man, more dominant, but Avari had faced bigger and still out on top. This was his chance to continue his momentum, and he was ready to go forward, knowing that he had a World Heavyweight Championship match coming up at Survivor Series.

The ref rang the bell and Avari immediately rushes forward, looking to catch Rex off guard with a flurry of forearms to the head.

 

[Undead Superstar]

The forearms connected, the flurry driving Rex back several steps. He raised his arms to stave off some of the damage, as each blow made his smile grow bigger and bigger. Rex would try and stop the furious assault by shoving Avari back with all of his strength.  

[-Nuclear Fusion-]

Avari connected with forearm after forearm as Rex threw his arms up, soaking some of the damage. Then the shove came as Fusion was thrown backwards, hitting the canvas and rolling backwards to his feet.

He stood there and looked at the smile on his opponent's face as the crowd gave off a loud cheer, already knowing that they were in for a treat tonight.

Fusion nodded to Rex and stepped forward, tentatively offering a tie-up - but he would look to switch to a series of low leg kicks if Kobra came forward!

 

[Undead Superstar]

Rex came forward, seeking to keep imposing his strength with the tie up. But the smaller man was crafty and went for the kicks. Rex moved to the side seeking to keep from his legs being compromised too much. It wasn't the pain that bugged him. If anything, he was relishing in it. But he knew that if he wanted to stay in this match for the long term, he'd have to keep a vertical base.

After a few of the low kicks, Rex would try and stop the assault by throwing a hard right to Avari's skull. If the fist connected, he would stagger back a step and stretch his leg to make sure the kicking flurry hadn't done too much damage so early.  

[-Nuclear Fusion-]

The crowd roared in excitement as the smaller man was able to get some hard kicks in, rocking the lower leg of Rex. But a thumping strike caught Avari and sent him backwards, dropping to one knee from the sheer force.

Fusion shook his head to try and shake the pain away as he looked up and saw Kobra stretching out. Already this felt like it could be a hard match for The Man of the Hour, and it might require a good amount of stamina.

Avari slowly made his way to his feet, eyes locked on Rex, and waited to see what he might do in return.. or was he enjoying the pain Avari was putting on him?

 

[Undead Superstar]

Rex stared at Avari. His mouth curled into that deranged, psychotic sneer. He could hear it. The voice of The Serpent. His almighty, telling him what to do to Avari and how to proceed. Rex had a feeling that if he raced forward for a big boot, that Avari would roll or dodge. So instead, he stepped forward and beckoned Avari to stand, and going for another meaty fist to the skull once he was fully on his feet.  

[-Nuclear Fusion-]

Avari watched and waited, perhaps a little daunted by the hulking man in front of him. In that moment the sound of the arena went almost silent, a shadow loomed over him, as a strike caught him across the forehead.

He felt rocked again, and shook his head, turning it to the side. Just in instinct he aimed a shot back at Rex, though he felt a little underpowered in comparison.

 

[Undead Superstar]

His fist connected and Avari returned the favor. Rex's head moved to the side and he let out a chuckle. The crowd gave a cheer as they saw Avari land a blow. Rex sought to answer Avari's blow with another of his own. If he wanted to trade blows, they could trade blows.  

[-Nuclear Fusion-]

Another blow connected to Avari, and each of these just seemed to rock him, the massive fists of Rex really doing some work. Knowing that this just wasn't going to be something he could keep up, Fusion looked to aim another low leg shot.

If successful, he would look to run at the opposite ropes and charge back with a flying forearm!

 

[Undead Superstar]

The low kick connected and Rex moved to the side again, anticipating another flurry of them. But Avari didn't. He ran to the ropes and charged with a flying forearm. The move connected and Kobra was sent staggering back a step. For a moment, he felt like he was going to fall, but instead he was just dropped to a knee.

The hissing whispers of The Serpent flowed through his ears, telling him to remain vigilant and strong as he shook his head to clear the cobwebs.  

[-Nuclear Fusion-]

Avari snapped back to reality, managing to catch himself on his feet. He looked out at the cheering crowd and nodded to them in a silent thought of acknowledgement, before turning back to Rex.

Fusion realised he has to keep the pressure on as he aimed a series of kicks to the body and shoulders of Rex, a la Bryan Danielson.

 

[Undead Superstar]

Rextook the hits. Only barely protecting himself. He had to prove his own endurance to The Serpent so that he could be blessed with The Serpent's strength. After each kick, Kobra's smile seemed to get bigger and after a couple, he was starting to chuckle harder with each blow.
