Somewhere in between matches during the show, the screen in the arena lit up as we cut to the backstage where an interview area has been set up and the audience in attendance and at home are greeted by the bright smile of one Laura, the main cause and benefactor of Donny's impromptu return the previous PPV. Although Donny's return had been less than glorious, it seemed her quick thinking and ability to pull people back into the limelight had paid off for her, moving from pre taped promos to live ones in a short amount of time.

"Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time, Donny Mantra" she said before turning to greet Donny as he walked into frame, garnering a warm cheer from a crowd as he flashed Laura, and the camera, a wry grin before Laura launched into her first question "Firstly, congrats on your return last month Donny, it has been sometime since we last saw you in the ring but, unfortunately, the hot topic has been less about you and more about Bison and how he spoiled the party, as well as speculation on how his opponent that night is doing. Can you give us an update on Liam after his match and what, exactly, is next?"

It had been the question Donny had been preparing for, his expression taking on a natural look of concern as he pushed some of his hair out his face "Well, firstly Laura, can I call you Laura? Laura. First, lets not dignify what happened at Unforgiven with words like 'matches' and 'opponents'. What happened to Liam was an assault. Bison took advantage of a green trainee who was unprepared to face a seven foot man with one hundred times more experience than he has. Just because a bell rings before and after something, doesn't make it right, especially since liberties were taken after the final bell had rung as well" a tone of anger had been slowly building as Donny spoke, but as quickly as it had risen, it cooled. Another trait Donny was aware of the Liam had ignored the previous month. "Now that being said, Liam is going to be fine. Bruises, bumps and a, well, concussion aside, turns out the kid is tougher than even I knew, and will be right back to training once he's back to one hundred percent, where he will be staying until he is ready to make a full debut, at which time he will be much better prepared to compete"

Laura had been hoping for more fire from the veteran. As Donny had been getting angry, she had been hoping for a more bombastic response but, looking at him, he seemed calmer than before the interview had even started. Not one to give up though, she pressed him a little further with her follow up question.

"That's great to hear, though with him recovering after, as you called it, an assault, people were expecting a response from yourself to get some sort of payback tonight, perhaps you facing off against Bison tonight. Instead, he's facing-

Donny brought her to a stop with a raised hand and a small shake of his head. Again, he was cool. Level headed, which just annoyed her even more "Now now, hold on there. I can see what you're doing. It's similar to what that colossus a*****e did last week. He goaded Liam into fighting him. He may have wanted me but he took what he got. Eventually, I will face Bison, that's pretty much a guarantee, and I know the people are going to want to see me give him what he deserves, but it isn't tonight. Evaluate, plan, strike. It's one of the most important lessons I can teach someone. Liam forgot to heed the danger and it nearly cost him his career before it had even got started. Bison is going to get his punishment, but all in good time. Until then, he can keep facing whom ever he wants, and I'll be watching closely"

It was only then that Laura realised that Donny had no idea the full situation that night. It was two more of his rookies that were after some measure of revenge, and they were doing so without letting him know. Her smile took on an ever so slightly devious turn, not because she was looking forward to what would happen to those kids, but because she was about to push twist Donny just a little.

"Well, I have to say that seems a little cold from you"
"How do you mean?"
"Well... its two more of Liam's classmates that challenged Bison, their match should be starting right now"

As if on cue, the sounds of Bison's theme echoed down the hallway. Laura, with a gleam in her eyes, watched a smiling, calm Donny quickly turn to confusion, into concern and, finally, anger. There was no answer forth coming as Donny brushed past her, headed for the gorilla position. The camera lingered on his back for a second before turning back to her, a satisfied smile on her face before she sounded off, turning it over the the King and J.R who were getting ready for the in ring action to follow.
