Golden sandals padded on the ground. Blue shear fabric waved about the pale skinned hybrid. Her body shifting and moving through the crowd of people around her. Golden eyes focused on the sky where Starline was flying. The sounds of the Kinfa's calls were starting to be noticed by the various inhabitants of the city.
Teiluj had been doing a little shopping in the city only a few hours before. Having bought a new outfit to replace her older one. It was hot here in Oba, hotter than she was used to. In order to find a way to cool herself off, Teiluj had changed into it. She didn't anticipate Starlines attraction to her golden ear cuff and armbands. They had cost a lot, Teiluj was not prepared to loose them so soon after buying them.
"Come back Starline!" Teiluj shouted, desperately trying to keep from loosing track of the rather large bird. Her feet stumbled on some rocks and Teiluj found herself falling forward her hand reaching out for anything to stop her from completely falling down.

Lynx had been out for a walk with his familiar when he'd spotted the Kinfa. They weren't uncommon to see in Oba but Starline's colors were beautiful and caught his attention. So he'd unconsciously redirected his steps to take him closer to where the big bird was. He supposed that was a good thing since he ended up hearing someone call out toward the beast. He looked toward who it was that was calling for the kinfa and noticed the hybrid lady. Her pale colors stood out, much like his grandmother's, and made her easy to spot. Lynx glanced back up at the bird with a half smile. Apparently the beast had decided taking something from the lady was a good idea. He was content to leave the situation alone but when he looked back at the lady he saw that she didn't have sure footing and was going to fall. Luckily he was close enough that a few quick steps put him in the perfect spot to keep her from hitting the ground. Teiluj would find herself held up but a pair of arms and against a muscular chest. "You alright? Didn't twist your ankle did you?" Lynx figured he'd make sure the lady was okay before he let go since he didn't want her to end up falling after he'd kept her from meeting the ground.

Her reach was caught, and before Teiluj knew it, she had been collected into a warm embrace. The scent of sandlewood filled the air around her. Her hands felt the firm muscles shift under soft skin. The beads in her hair clacked together against the motion of her head jerking up to see who these powerful muscles belonged to. Golden eyes looked up into a dark face, pink stones indicated hybrid. Her heart jerked within her chest as she realized she was staring. A blush creeping across her face, whomever this individual was, Teiluj couldn't help but feel enraptured. His voice broke through to her, and Teiluj quickly averted her gaze. Shaking her head back and forth slowly, still conscious of her hands against his dark, soft skin. "Thank you. I'm not hurt." Her eyes quickly looked back up at the man. "You're not hurt are you? I'm sorry, I've caused you trouble. Please forgive me. I mean no harm." Starline had noticed Teiluj was no longer giving chase. Annoyed the game had come to its conclusions the kinfa swerved back. Dropping the items with the intent to have them land on the man's head. Wings flapping upon the avians decent. Starline landed within reach of Lynx. Reaching out with her beak to very gently bite on the man's arm.

While he waited for her to respond his gaze searched her face for any sign or pain. Surely if she was hurt she'd show signs of it. Then he noticed her face getting red. Was she sick? Then she answered by saying she was unharmed. Lynx smiled down at her, even slightly amused when the lady became worried about him. "Don't worry about me, I'm stronger than I look." He looked back up at the Skytop find the Kinfa and was pleased to see it coming back. Though when he noticed that it was going to drop whatever it had he shifted the lady in his arms to the side but still kept a hold of her. Lynx managed to catch the items with one hand, just barely. "These yours?" He asked Teiluj. When the kinfa moved to bite his arm he looked at the beast with a fond look. "I don't taste too good. I'm all sweaty."

How could one be stronger than they looked when they already looked, well, like Lynx did? Teiluj didn't know how to respond to that, her mouth opened and closed as she struggled to find the correct words. Just as she was about to say something, Lynx had moved Teiluj again. Her mind spinning. What exactly was going on now? Her hand rested on his firm chest. Starline's beak rested around the mans arm. Not putting any pressure in the bite the bird eyed Lynx carefully. Her eyes pinning at the man. This was a first, most would have reacted by trying to pull away, or swat her away. Ruffling her feathers she released the appendage from her beak. Her head tilting and turning from one angle to the next, regarding the silver haired individual with interest. Her eyes never leaving Lynx. Teiluj still blushed, it felt like all her blood was turning to lava as it coursed around her body. Shivers ran up her spine as she took note of just how close she was to this individual. Was he not bothered by her? Her eyes darted around the hybrid. He looked about as diluted in race as she did, it intrigued her. Golden eyes moved to the items held in the mans hand. "Yes, these are mine." Her fingers slid down his chest before pulling away to touch the objects in his hand. Her fingers brushing across his palms. "You don't smell sweaty, you smell good." Teiluj continued blushing, her hands lingering on the items. Unsure if it was okay to take them back or not. "Y-you are holding me awfully close. Does this not bother you? Men don't usually hold a woman so intimately without being... well you know..." Her curious golden eyes looked up to meet his. Teiluj remained still, there was no need she felt for her to push the man away from her. He didn't seem like the type who would cause her any harm. Her eyes shifted away before she could be considered staring

He didn't notice Teiluj staring or he curret state of embarrassment. Lynx was watching the large bird as it seemed to be sizing him up. From the interaction it had with the lady he'd determined that the beast knew her and was likely her familiar. So he waited until it let go before moving, thankful that his own familiar knew better than to move without a command. He looked back at the woman he held when she answered about the items being hers. Of course he was a bit surprised when she said he smelled good. He'd been out walking most of the morning so he didn't think so. "Forgive me. I didn't want to let go in case you didn't have uour footing." It would do no good to catch her only to let her fall afterward. He turned to look at his Janarim before giving a command for the beast to come closer. Once Banshee obeyed Lynx once again looked at teiluj. "Excuse me for a second." He gently lifted the hybrid girl up off her feet so she could be sat on the janarim's back. "I'll take a look at your ankle just to be sure." Then to the Kinfa he smiled. "I'm just gonna check to see she's not injured." He even held his hands up to show he wasn't dangerous.

Odds - Not Injured Evens - InjuredTeiluj pressed her body into Lynx as she caught sight of the Janarim approaching. Her mother had one of those, and it was not friendly towards anyone with the exception of Maya. Her eyes grew wide with shock, a squeak escaped her lips as she was lifted from her feet. Her mind imploding. Was HE making sure SHE was okay!? "I-i'm alright I promise." Teiluj breathlessly whispered. What was happening here? Normally she would be the one tending to someone else. With very very little care or attention afforded to her in the process. Starlines eyes continued to pin. Regarding the man, Teiluj glanced over towards her Kinfa raising a hand up towards the bird. "It's okay Starline, stay." Her voice trembling as her other hand felt the hide of the beast she was now sitting on. She had never been within touching distance of such a creature before. Starline made several high pitched chirrups, fluffing her feathers up again. Making a grinding noise with her beak. Her eyes stopped pinning, though she still kept her gaze fixed on the man. As if to show she wasn't hurt Teiluj attempted to move her ankles. Wincing as a sharp pain nipped at the inside of her right ankle. This wasn't good, it did hurt. Clenching her teeth together Teiluj struggled to remain composed. As if trying to stick to her story that she was alright and not injured in any way. Obvious swelling was beginning to form around her ankle. Busted.

"I'd still like to check. It's easy to twist your ankle if you aren't careful." Once he was sure she wouldn't fall off the Janarim and her familiar wasn't going to attack him he knelt to take a look. Lynx gave another apology as he gently took Teiluj's ankle in hand. He was careful to turn it and see if there was an injury. "Let me know if it hurts."As he did the inspection of her ankle he glanced at the kinda. Lynx smiled at the bird. "Starline is beautiful. Did you raise them or get them as an adult?" He couldn't help but be curious. When he was done checking the lady for injury he'd have to give the beast a treat. After all the kinda hadn't caused him injury even though they could have.

Whimpering as her left ankle was shifted, Teiluj grit her teeth. She couldn't show weakness not here. Least of all in front of someone like the man in front of her. Closing her eyes to keep her composure, Teiluj was almost glad that the attention had shifted towards her Kinfa. "That's Starline," Teiluj answered. Her eyes looking at the man instead of her bird. "I have had her since I was very little, my mother thought it would be a good idea for me to hatch and raise her." Swallowing down a groan from the pain in her ankle Teiluj's leg jerked back a little at the pain. She refused to acknowledge it hurt. "She got the egg off a trader. I was very lucky to have run into a trainer who could help me get started with Starline. To understand her better, but I'm not a beast tamer. I don't have the skills or knowledge to train her properly." Feeling a little ashamed at admitting her faults, her eyes cast down towards her feet. "I'm a healer, not a warrior like the rest of the Aishan's are." Turning her gaze back to Starline Teiluj's voice remained low. "I've a Radaku as well, but hes waiting back at my lodgings. I'm Teiluj, by the way." She added.

Even though his attention was on the Kinfa he heard the whimper when he moved the lady's ankle. However, she seemed more interested in telling him about the beast than acknowledging her injury. So Lynx let her talk while still lightly holding the injured ankle. He looked Starline over before giving a half grin. "Must be your lucky day. I'm not a healer, I'm a beast tamer." Finally he brought his gaze back to Teiluj as he knelt in front of her. "I can help you with Starline if you'd like. But first we need to get your ankle fixed miss Teiluj." Lynx let go of her ankle and stood up. "You can call me Lynx." He introduced himself before motioning to her foot. "Can you heal yourself or do we need to find another healer?" He wasn't sure how that worked. His family didn't deal in the healing business. He looked at Starline with a relaxed smile. "Your companion is really tough. You must be proud." He held his hand out, palm up, for the bird. "We'll get you a treat after she's healed up." He was hoping the Kinfa would preen at the praise and offer of a treat.

Teiluj was taken aback at Lynx's comments. He was a beast tamer!? Of course he was, that would explain his figure. Her heart jumped again in her cheat as her golden eyes were met by his pale ones. Her entire demeanor brightened, pure joy radiated from her. "You can spend all the time with Starline that you want. It would be a pleasure to have someone who could train her properly. Does that mean you have other companions as well? What are they? What are they like? Can I see them?" Completely ignoring her injured ankle Teiluj shifted excitedly. She now had a name to go with the paradoxical gentleman. Her disposition diminished slightly at the mention of her healing herself. "I might, but maybe wrapping it and waiting would be a better solution. I don't want to get too dependent on healing." Her eyes made sure to stay locked with Lynx. Leaning forward just enough that she wasn't going to slide off the janarim. "It's a pleasure to know your name Lynx. There's no need for any honorifics in front of my name. I'm not worthy of such things. I'm just Teiluj." Watching Lynx interact with Starline made Teiluj relax a little. The fairly large bird continued to sit there her feathers soft and relaxed towards Lynxs hand. Touching the tip of her beak against the male hybrids fingertips. As if she were testing to see how he would react. Soft chirps welcomed him. "I don't think she's ever had treats. She hunts for herself." Teiluj mused quietly. Feeling a bit ashamed that she hadn't thought ad much about working with Starline as she had with Tao.

He hadn't been expecting the questions about his companions, so at first he just looked at Teiluj with a surprised expression before chuckling. Lynx gave a nod of his head as he answered, "I do. You're currently seated on Banshee. He's pretty well behaved now but when we get home he's totally mannerless and gets on the furniture." Lynx was sure the beast did it to annoy his mother. "I also have a perzi named Lady, a keldari named Tandis, and a loatoa named Juniper." He'd trained each of them so he knew they were well behaved when needed. "Lady is a bit spoiled. She stays home to be pampered by my siblings. Tandis is a bit picky on who can pet her but she's not mean. Mostly she'll ignore someone. And Juniper is energetic. She likes to steal shiny things so I have to keep an eye on her." After giving a run down of his familiars he stepped just to the side, at Banshee's rear, to dig into a pack. A second later he pulled out a treat for Starline. He didn't miss the way Teiluj said she wasn't worthy and it made him lose his smile for a second. Lynx moved back to where he was so he could offer the Kinfa the treat. "Here you go girl. Try this." If she liked it then he'd get her more. It also would give him an idea of what to use as a bribe for training. As he waited for Starline to try the treat he turned his head to look at the hybrid lady. "You are worthy. You're a beautiful lady and should be shown respect as such. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.." Not to mention if he didn't show the basics of respect his parents would be disappointed in him. "So long as I am around you will be given respect. I'm guessing others have been rude because you're an Alk hybrid?" He'd not had to deal with that himself since his own Alk blood was diluted but his father had. It was easier to tell that his dad was part Alk. Lynx reached out to lightly touch her injured ankle. "How about partially healing it then I'll wrap it. And you can ride on Banshee to keep weight off it. Unless you'd rather I carry you." Some people were uncomfortable on Janarims so he didn't want to force her if she was one of them.

At the sound of the janarims name Teiluj glanced across out of the corner of her eyes. Banshee? She smiled a little at the name, it wouldn't surprise her if she was a 'banshee' on the battlefield. It was hard for her to imagine a janarim even allowed inside the house. Though she supposed, that was probably no different than her Radaku. Teiluj secretly wanted to meet all these creatures. Though she kept that to herself. It would be rude of her to ask, considering she had only just met Lynx. The mention of several other companions had Teiluj tilting her head to the side. These were names of creatures she was not familiar with. Her antenna vibrated excitedly as he spoke. She could feel the passion and enthusiasm in the topic. Her eyes followed Lynx with interest. Turning to look up at Starline to see what her reaction would be. The large birds eyes returned to pinning once again. Her focus was on Lynx and the unknown object in his hand. Readjusting her wings and feathers with a shake, chirping a couple times but would not approach. Unsure of what the man was doing. Lifting a wing Starline pretended to pay no attention to Lynx. Instead turning to preen her flight feathers. Her attention was grabbed once again when Lynx contradicted her. She didn't consider herself beautiful. She was horribly insecure in her own skin. It made her feel like she really couldn't belong anywhere. Not that she would voice that to Lynx, she could tell by looking at him that he was likely just as mixed as she was if not more so. "I'm not beautiful..." Teiluj trailed off. Golden eyes snapped back to look at Lynx. Shock registered on her face. "Well... y-yeah... there have been quite a few alkidike who... saw me as an enigma to aisha." An arm crossed over Teilujs chest. Her hand holding tight to the opposite arm. Her memories of running into an alkidike with strange red markings and a fiery temper made her shiver. Thankfully for the change of subject the hybrid woman groaned as her ankle shifted painfully. A deepening blush returned to her face as Lynx mentioned wrapping her ankle himself. Then even redder as he offered to carry her. "N-n-n-no I d-d-do-dont need t-to be carried." Now she was completely flustered. Stammering over her words as her heart thudded in her chest yet again. "Besides, a g-girl could get the wrong idea. Being treated like that. What would your wife say?"

He noticed that Starline went to ignoring him. That was fine. Lynx figured she would need a moment or two to figure out what to do with him. Plus Teiluj had said she'd not had treats before and it was likely she didn't trust food she didn't hunt for. Of course the beasts owner had his attention as she claimed she wasn't beautiful and that alkidikes weren't her biggest fan. "Hm, we'll have to disagree on beauty standards." Lynx wasn't going to argue with her on that. He could tell she had little confidence. Had it been his mother or either of his sisters who had been complimented they'd have simply said thank you and pretend at the attention. "We'll I don't see you as an enigma and neither would anyone in my family." When she reached across her chest to hold her other arm he recognized it as a comforting action. Starline was forgotten for a moment as his hand dropped, the treat being put in his pocket for the time being. Lynx gently reached up to touch her hand even as she got red faced all over again at the mention of being carried. Now he knew she was blushing and not sick. He couldn't help the half smirk he gave at knowing that. "I'm not sure what my wife would say since I don't have one. And what idea would a girl get by being treated kindly? That she deserves to be treated like a princess?" He certainly hoped so. His baby sisters deserved it so he made sure other girls were treated that way. Even ones that annoyed him. (Cough. Nykinae. Cough.) "Miss Teiluj, please allow me to help you. I can escort you to wherever you need to go today to make sure you're ankle is alright." It would also give him time to work with Starline.

Teiluj's head tilted to the side as she regarded Lynx carefully. He disagreed that she wasn't beautiful? Her beads clacked together, dancing in a breeze that swept up in the cooler night air. The sun obviously setting in the distance. Golden eyes transfixed on the male hybrid in front of her. Shifting her hand along the scaled hide of the beast she currently sat on. He didn't consider her an enigma either? The hybrid girl struggled to fight back tears. Why was it that someone she had just met, seem to regard her with such esteem? Lifting a thumb to quickly wipe away a loose tear before it could be seen. Teiluj looked up towards the setting sun. "D-do you have a large family?" Teiluj asked timidly. "I just have me and my Mom. Though Mom's gone now." The large avian creature snapped her beak twice with impatience. Ruffling her feathers with a squawk she took back to the air in search of a higher perch. With the sun setting it was time to find a safer place to nest for the night. Being as large as she was, she was still a bird. Birds were vulnerable at night. "How is it that someone like you, isn't paired up with anyone." Teiluj whispered. Almost to herself than to Lynx. "I mean look at you..." Teiluj trailed off. Looking towards the direction Starline had taken flight towards. "A girl might think that... w-w-well that you might be flirting with her..." Looking up towards the sky was helping her hold back her fluctuating emotions. Why was she like this, she was embarrassed about herself about how she couldn't keep control of her emotions like her mother could. An eye twitched at being called 'miss' again. Truly she didn't deserve such an honorific, but her breath caught in her chest as he offered to help escort her where she needed to go. To be honest, she really didn't know where she needed to go now. She was lost to the wind, aimless, searching for a place to belong. That included accommodations, shaking her head Teiluj struggled to find the proper response. "I... I don't have anywhere to be. To be honest, I'm just wandering. I was searching for something, but, it's gone now." Another tear threatened to escape her eyes. Her face still holding firm to her blush. She had come to terms with N'koles absence. Though it left her lost, struggling to find a new path in life.
