The nights were starting to come earlier, which mean that his job at a lifeguard at the reservoir was soon going to come to an end for the year. But he still had another duty. As a Knight, or at least Squire in his case, it was his job to stop Agents from draining energy and battle whatever evil Negaverse forces were out there. And so he patrolled the reservoir at night, making sure that there weren't any strange creatures hanging around or Agents wanting to take advantage of anyone who was illegally trespassing. Strange things often happened around the reservoir, mostly during the star festival. He wasn't sure if it was just those days or if the festival also acted as some sort of ritual that happened to allow strange magical things to happen, but something always happened with the reservoir. So he wasn't surprised when he felt the aura of another Order in the area. He had run into a few during his patrols and some of them were curious about the large body of water at night as well. He continued his walk however, if the other wanted to talk with him, they could.

Wezen was still curious about the reservoir, despite having spent a rather nice afternoon there with Samantha. Though Sam had been fairly tense after she arrived, asking Lydia all about what she had been talking to that nice young man about. Wezen had come to understand this type of questioning usually came when Samantha thought she had done something to out herself as an alien to civilians.
It turned out, that risk was very high, all the time, and Wezen was generally oblivious to just what she was doing wrong. She tried to follow everything Sinistra told her, but sometimes there was just no preparing her for the oddities she found in this city. Everything was so curious and interesting, she could not help but want to know more about it all.
It was not her fault her planet was so starkly different to everything here. Just being able to talk to others was, in itself, a profound difference. Sinistra did her best to understand that, in turn, but when it came to the planet Wezen, she could never truly comprehend just what kind of a place it was, when she had a place like Earth to call her home.
She felt the same kind of pull she did when Sinistra was around, though she could distinguish it was slightly different to hers. Still, it felt warm, which she had learned was a good thing. It meant this was more than likely an ally approaching her, rather than someone looking for a fight. She turned, spotting the source of the aura and staring at him without waving.
Just staring.
"Hello," she said, immediately curious. She knew knights, as Sinistra had introduced her to Camelot, but this one was different to him in many ways. She had not met a Squire before, after all. She held up her hand, sticking it out in front of her despite him being uncomfortably too far away for a handshake. She could wait for him to get close enough, but she wanted to make sure she nailed her introduction. "I am Wezen, Senshi of Haunting. "

The Senshi, and he could tell it was a Senshi now that he had gotten closer, looked a bit strange. They must have been one of those new alien Senshi that were now finding themselves on Earth. Sometimes he wondered if there would be any alien Knights. They appeared to be... waiting for him to get close enough to shake hands? He only wished he didn't feel that awkwardness when opening the door for someone and it was just in-between the person being too far away to keep it open, or too close that not keeping it open would make him a jerk. He closed the distance and then slowly lifted his hand to shake hers, just to make sure he didn't make her feel weird. "Sumner, Squire of Neptune. Are you new to Earth?" And human customs it seemed, but he kept his mouth shut on the latter. "Were you interested in the reservoir? I usually patrol around here."

Wezen did not feel weird. She did not look particularly happy, either, her expression bland as she gave his hand a very firm shake. She let go after the one, though, nodding her head and finding the whole thing sufficient. In her estimation, it was as good an introduction as she had ever had, which meant it was exactly what it needed to be.
She was easily learning to blend in here, and sometimes she wondered why Sinistra was always so worried.
"Neptune?" She managed a blink, almost looking curious. Camelot and Carslisle were both knights of Earth, so it was interesting to her to meet someone with a different banner. Her planet was so remote, she had no real knowledge of what others were out there, though she had been studying it in the lessons she was being provided by her caretakers.
"Yes, I am fairly knew to Earth," she admitted, "I am still learning many things. This reservoir: I experienced it for the first time not long ago. I was still curious about it. There is no one here now, though, like before. Are humans not allowed in the water after dark? Is that true of all water?"
She seemed to be assuming he was the master of this domain, and the holder of knowledge that she was seeking. She paused for a moment, then added another question to the list, as she looked at him intensely. Her eyes were the most expressive part about her, and they burned with her desire to understand.
"Why do you choose to patrol here?"

He nodded. "Yeah, it's one of the planets in our solar system in the Milky Way. It's far from Earth though. Probably a lot closer than your planet, but it's far from here for us." He said with a chuckle. He couldn't put his finger on it, but this Senshi was reminding of him of someone... was it a friend of his? "This is private, well government property. It means someone owns it. So if someone comes here when they aren't supposed to and get hurt, well they could ask for compensation from the government if they were allowed to go in here at night. And you're much more likely to drown at night as well. The water is colder, if you're drunk it could be hard to swim and find your way to shore, there are all sorts of reasons not to swim here after dark." He said, taking a look out at the reservoir, attempting to see if there was any movement. It wasn't just humans he was worried about. There seemed to be strange things in the water at certain times of the year that would pull people under the water. "It's not true of all water. Some water can't be owned and if for example you own access to that water, you can of course go in. I just wouldn't recommend it." He often wished he had his own beach house though. "Me? I like to patrol here because it's where I'm used to. I work here, I was awakened here, and I've met plenty of suspicious characters here as well, including those loyal to the Negaverse. Strange, unexplainable things also happen around her sometimes. And it reminds me of my Wonder, though that is much bigger and surrounded by Neptune's large ocean." He looked back at her. "Were you just curious or did you hear about anything strange happening here? If you did I would love to know so I could keep a look out for it."

"That is a very strange system," Wezen said, and for a very, very brief moment she actually looked confused as she considered things. The expression was quickly lost under the usual mask of blandness, but she was still thinking things over. The way her world had been run was well beyond her: no one that was sent there was meant to know that a government of any kind even existed. Most never knew they were anything but a cog in a wheel, meant to fulfill a purpose until they stopped working.
Then they were placed, and nothing changed.
It was only when things began to stop, and no replacements came, that she realized there was far more at play. By then, it was too late to stop the chaos that was consuming an already dark and dead planet.
She listened to him with rapt interest, staring at him all the while and only blinking once. She did not need to blink as often as humans, or most other creatures on this planet, but was told it could be very unnerving if she went too long without it. So she tried to throw an extra one in now and then, just to bear that in mind. Even so, she generally forgot until it was already far too long.
"No, I have not heard of anything strange. I was here before, and learned a little, but under the limitations of my human disguise, I was unable to ask as much as I would have liked to. Though the guard of life that helped me was very kind to do so."

Guard of life?... "Oh! You were that woman. No wonder you didn't seem to know much about the water." He said with a grin. "I'm that "guard of life" that you talked to! That's my day job, but at night I go out as a Neptune Knight. It's too bad that you haven't heard about anything unusual. It might be helpful in finding out what's behind all of the strange phenomena here." He motioned to the reservoir with one of his hands. "During the Star Festival in the summer things start to drag people down or they can see something in the water or whatever here. I've had it happen myself and I helped a Chibi Senshi when she was grabbed as well. Can't figure out why it happens though, I haven't felt any chaos from it at least."He let out a sigh. "For some reason nothing really happens the rest of the year, which makes it even more strange." He moved his hands to cross in front of him, moving into a more relaxed standing position. "What else did you want to ask about? Now that we know what we look like as civilians and have met each other while powered, you can ask more if you would like. At least I'll know where your questions are coming from now." He chuckled a little. Her strangeness as a human made a lot more sense now.

Though it had absolutely no chance of reaching her bland expression, Wezen was curious and actually excited to learn that this knight was the same nice young man that had bothered to try to explain things to her before. Usually, people just got confused by her and came up with reasons to disengage from the conversation.
Or they just got angry, for reasons she could not begin to fathom.
"To me, everything is strange and unusual," she said, which was a fair enough point, "though I suppose I, in turn, am that for everyone else. But it is worrisome that there is something dangerous in the water." She looked out over the dark water again, with no hope of seeing anything in the gloom.
She had never needed to enter water before, and was not sure if she did or did not have the ability to exist under its surface. She supposed there was always one way to find this kind of things out, but it also sometimes meant learning a painful or dangerous lesson the hard way. Which Sinistra often suggested they try to avoid.
"Well, you explained to me that people find swimming to be relaxing and refreshing, which makes sense on a planet like this. And that this is a designated spot for that, but only within regulated hours. That all makes sense, I believe, but this thing that is pulling them under... I do not like that. Humans should have their fun, and 'live' the way they are meant to, without things like chaos or unexplained threats coming after them. I would like to help, if I can, solve this problem, so this planet remains good."
She nodded her head, determined. She had no capacity to help him figure out anything more than what he had already learned, but she would be damned if she did not try her best anyway. And at the very least, she could pledge her allegiance to the cause, in case he did have a break through and needed support later.

He shrugged his shoulders. "No one is born knowing the ins and outs of human life. They have to be taught, and it can even vary from country to country. So you asking all of those questions, yes, some people may think they are strange, but some people haven't been able to experience the water. You aren't the first who has asked me questions about it." It was better that people with no experience asked questions as well. He didn't want people to go straight into the water without even understanding the basics of it. He couldn't help but smile. "I would appreciate that. It only happens around a certain time of year and well, other strange things happen in this city at certain points of the year as well. They don't seem to be Chaos or Order based, so we don't have any idea of where or what they are coming from. I wish I knew though. I want to make the water as safe as I can for everyone. If you want, we can meet here again? If you have your Senshi phone I can send you a message through my ring." He said, holding up his right hand to show the ring that was on his 4th finger. "I could let you know if anything turns up as well if you want. It's always good to be able to call for help for someone you have met before if need be."

Wezen nodded her head, listening intently. She was very good about taking mental notes, though Sinistra often asked her to actually write things down so she could reference them later. It had taken her a little longer to get a grasp on writing than speaking and, if her roommate were being honest and not expressly as kind as possible, her handwriting was terrible.
Wezen generally wrote things down so she could read them, not others,
"I will continue to ask questions, then," she said, with a firm nod. As long as she found people like him, ones that did not seem to mind her curiosities or the way she spoke, then she would be able to learn quite a lot. Even the ones that did not particularly take to her, or were disinterested in helping her learn, were in themselves valuable learning tools, so she would endeavor to learn how to tell the different responses apart.
Facial expressions and tones in voices were still far beyond her understanding just yet. She liked it best when people were frank and direct. He seemed to get it, which she approved of.
"Rings can send messages to these phones?" She looked almost puzzled, if her face were capable of any expression, and she searched for her phone before offering it to him. She realized Camelot had told her the same thing, but sometimes he said things while saying many other things, and some things were lost. "Yes, I agree to this contact. If you require my help for anything, I will come to your aid."
And maybe contact him with random water related questions.

Sumner couldn't help but let out a small huff, trying to keep himself from laughing then. He liked the way Wezen was being so direct. It was just a bit funny that they announced they would continue to do so. He nodded in response to her question however. "Yes, they have to be upgraded, but it's pretty easy to do so. Then we can send and receive messages to and from Senshi phones." He had met a Mauvian who had been willing to do it, so his had the basic communication functions at this point. If he had to be honest he couldn't imagine not being able to do so, or at least no one with the ability to do so. It would have made communication between Senshi and Knights even worse than it was already. He took her phone and quickly put the information about him into her phone to connect to his signet ring, and handed the phone back to her. "Thank you. I think you're one of the first Senshi that I've met that has said that and you actually will follow through on it." He did believe other Senshi may have wanted to stay in contact with him, but it was like most were fly-by acquaitances and while maybe in the future if they really needed to contact him they would, but otherwise there would be no communication. And it was the same for him as well, he knew he needed to work on it himself. He looked around, realizing that the only light they had now appeared to be from the stars, moon, and city light pollution. "It seems that it may be getting late, which means I need to call it a night. If you want, we can walk and talk on the way closer to the city."

Wezen watched curiously. Though hers was an advanced planet in theory, the science behind the tech was lost on her. She had never been designed to operate anything, to build or fix anything, and there was never a need for anyone that was part of the cogs of the planet to know how anything around them worked. There was no science, no curiosity, and no learning.
So she was fairly useless with tech here on earth, all things considered, but she found it fascinating and she loved exploring new things and the curious way humans had a gadget for just about anything. This little information tool was vastly powerful, in her estimation, and she had no real idea just how much it was capable of.
She knew the basics, and liked it quite a lot. Sinistra had gotten her a personal one, to use when not on patrol, which she knew how to watch videos on. That was her favorite thing to do.
Wezen was puzzled by his words, but nodded her head. She never said something she did not mean, and her curiosity about things would not allow her to stop exploring. Unfortunately, that did open a flood gate to her being relentlessly annoying but they would probably find a balance. Or he would block her. Either way.
"Yes, I would enjoy that," Wezen said, in that bland, emotionless way that implied she maybe did not know what enjoying something meant. It certainly called into question if she was able to or not. She moved to start walking, feeling satisfied with the evening and vaguely looking forward to letting her roommate know all about it.
