The weather was starting to change and people were heading out to the bars more often. The summer heat brought out all the frat boys in full force as they tried to get some. It was disgusting and made Beatrix sick to her stomach as she roamed the streets draining little by little. She watched the bars from the alleys, always staying just out of sight from the crowds. Rent was due soon and she needed to find a good mark. Someone who looked rich, or at least stupid enough to carry cash.
This was a new area for her though, her normal haunt was getting to risky after that last fight. Sure she ate a few starseeds but nothing seemed to be happening to her after the fact. They hadn’t had any discernable taste which was a bit surprising to her. If they were supposed to be someone’s like soul or essence it would make sense that it should have a flavor of some sort. Just like how certain meat tasted grassier if that’s the diet they had. A little voice in the back of her head tickled at her, pushing her to have just one more. It was tempting but she wanted to turn them in for her quota so she wouldn't have to do much more of this nitpick draining. Sure it was easier than it had been before, she could do it without touching them and in a shorter amount of time, but she still felt like it left her open to be noticed. She couldn't do it from as far away as Fafnir had showed her when they had met.
Sighing a bit as she saw a huge group of wasted dudebros, she kept to the alleys and followed them. She was waiting for the inevitable, one of them to break off to vomit or urinate in the alleyway. It would happen eventually, it always did.

It wasn't the usual patrol route for Sumner. Normally he would have been hanging around the reservoir, keeping an eye out not only to make sure that there were no Agents hanging around and draining people, but that no one who wasn't supposed to be there ended up drowning somehow whether it was from being wasted or unable to find their way in the dark. And darkness had been coming earlier and earlier, it was only a matter of time until the reservoir was closed and he would have to go back to working indoors for the duration of the year until the reservoir and outside pools opened again. His outfit definitely made him stick more to the sidestreets and alleyways around here. It was out of place and made it look like he was coming from some sort of performance and he definitely did not want to be bombarded with questions from civilians about what he was doing out here. Which is why the aura from the Corrupt caught his attention quite quickly and he was able to make his way there somewhat easily because he was already hiding in the alley. There were civilians, wasted ones at that, which he didn't feel the need to care for, but then he could see the Corrupt hanging around. The men must have been her target. He quickly leapt over them and landed in-between them and the Corrupt. "It's not nice to take advantage of people who can't fight back." He said, not caring if they could be seen. With their drunken states, they most likely wouldn't be able to remember them anyway.

She felt him before she saw him but wanted to get a few more clues on where her targets were heading after she dealt with him. It was annoying how he just yeeted himself over them like a freaking super here. How pretentious was he and all high and might were the words that came from his mouth. She already wanted to punch him out. Stepping back more into the shadows and away from the civilians, she scowled at him. "I can say the same thing about them, do you know how many girls they've taken advantage of in their fraternity? They don't deserve the air they breathe." She knew because it had happened to people she had known, it had almost happened to her before she quit college. There was a poison to her voice as she spoke. He just needed to get a bit closer, just out of the public eye enough for her to send her monster at him. All the while she ran through the colors in her head again, that list she had memorized and checked over and over. She needed to know if they had a prince or princess who would come to rescue them if things went south. She was pretty sure they didn't have one but she had to play it safe just in case. Once they were close enough she could go for gold and get her hand in his chest.

He let out a sigh. "You aren't wrong, at least in terms of what they have done. But I don't believe it's right to be both jury and executioner, even if you were just going to steal energy." He doubted it. She seemed to want those men dead. He slowly took out his harp and moved his fingers towards the strings, but stopped before he could make any sounds from it. "Let them blackout in an alley somewhere and we can call this a night without fighting." He said that but he was still not confident in his fighting skills. For now he could only attempt to get the Corrupt to back down, otherwise he would have to do all that he could. More than he had before. "But if you insist, I'll fight." He said, moving just one step forward. One of them would have to take the first move. Even if it had to be him.

Oh, this one was stupid and brave. Looking at the instrument in his hands, she made sure they were both fully in the alley before she would make her move. The step he took put him solidly out of the street and out of most of the civilians' sight. "Who said it was only me?" Why wouldn't she fight, it was fun. It was one of the main things she had been enjoying doing as of late. Taking a leap forward the fog rolled off of her. She never really was alone anymore with her creature to help. It was as easy as breathing to her now with how often she called out to it. She needed to get him down so she could pull him further into the alley. As soon as there was significant fog coverage she made sure to move quickly and quietly away from the last place he would have seen her. Hoping her dullahan would at least distract them a bit, she moved to kick out at their legs to make sure they went down. SSBrosB Sailor Scout Attack: Beatrix's Grasp A dark fog radiates out from Beatrix, a shadowy figure appears in the fog. It will reach out to grab an enemy with an icy cold hand. The being is still mostly enveloped by the fog or shadows. The radius is 6 feet. Effect and illusion lasts for 15 seconds and can be used 3 times per battle

Fog suddenly started to cloud the area, making it much harder to see. Sumner made a noise of acknowledgement towards it. Must be her magic. He thought to himself as he attempted to keep his other senses sharp since clearly one of them was no longer going to work. He suddenly felt what seemed to be an icy chill on his arm, as though it had frozen suddenly in ice and it had started to pull his arm in a different direction. Well, touch was certainly doing him good here. And the second one he could use was sound. It was faint, but he thought he heard movement and decided instead of fighting the arm to jump in the direction that it was attempting to pull him in, hoping that he would get out of the way of whatever it was. One of his feet were still caught by her kick, but he managed to keep his balance as he landed back onto the ground. For now he wouldn't be able to play his weapon so he put it back on his back for safe keeping. His best bet would be to stay silent as well. He wasn't sure if she could see through the fog, but even then the lighting shouldn't be too great in the alley for either of them to see.

She felt her foot connected but then instead of hearing the sound of a body hitting the ground, it sounded like shoes. Damn, he must've jumped or something. She could see in the fog better than they could but it was still a bit rough. Swinging out towards his stomach, she tried to grab the fabric of his outfit to try dragging him towards her more than he had already jumped. She knew it wouldn't be as easy as that other knight because this one was taller than her. She also knew this batch of fog would probably clear in another second or two after her swing. There were still a few bullets in her chamber though and she was totally ready to use them.

This time he felt something tug at the fabric at the front of his uniform. It seemed that the hand tugging also felt as though it had loosened a little. Or his arm was so numb that he just wasn't feeling it anymore, but with that tug he moved one of his knees, kicking up in the direction that it was coming from. As long as his other arm was out of commission he wouldn't be able to use his magic. It would have been helpful as the Senshi's defenses would have gone down, but he had to make due here.

The fog cleared just in time for her to see the kick coming, she pulled her other arm up to try and block but it still sent her sliding back a few feet. Part of his uniform ripped off into her hand so she threw it to the side before rushing back in. She was mad now, she was going to rip his ******** heart out. Her purple eyes were filled to the brim with her murderous intent as she sent out her creature again. They always listened, always did what she wanted, and always did what she needed them to do. If she needed it, she still had one of those star seeds left from after she turned in her last quota. Just one, just in case. If she needed a boost or something to fix up the damage to her arm. SSBrosB Super Sailor Scout Attack: Beatrix's Embrace A dark fog radiates out from Beatrix, a shadowy figure appears behind the enemy and whispers something before wrapping them in its cold body. They can clearly see the armor and fact that the figure is headless. It disappears with a laugh as the magic fades. Radius is 8 feet. Effect and illusion lasts for 25 seconds and can be used twice per battle

He had been correct in where he had kicked, however it appeared that she had other magic up her sleeve and suddenly he felt a whisper in his ear. It distracted him enough so that he was caught off guard and felt himself being wrapped by whatever it was that was holding him freezing him practically to the core. "s**t!" He cursed as he struggled, attempting to see what exactly he could do to escape whatever it was. The fog was now back, but the Senshi appeared to be heading straight out towards him. He could feel himself moving his legs at least. He could still use them then. It was risky, but he decided that it was worth a try. And with that he quickly leaned back into the armor, using his Squire strength to lift his legs up as he was still being held and then kick them out, hoping that the Senshi might get hit by them.

He was still being gripped tightly and his kick had connected, but so had her hand. There was no way for him to dodge or block it and so he got full nails to the face and could tell that he was bleeding. And that it hurt, a lot. He almost cried out in pain, but he managed to swallow it at the last moment, remembering that it was better for him to be quieter. It almost made him forget that he was losing the feeling in his arms. he would have elbowed the armored fiend but he knew that would hurt him more than the creature that was holding him. And he doubted that she would underestimate his kicking again. He struggled against the armor some more, only slightly feeling one of his arms being let go. He decided to try another reckless move and using his more free arm, tried to use his strength, kicking off a wall and turning himself and whatever was holding him out, hoping to hit the Senshi with the force of the two of them.

Everything shifted, the b*****d had broken free and was falling right into her. She couldn't get out of the way as he fell into her and knocked them both to the ground. Squirming to get him off her, she clawed at him and tried to knee him anywhere there were soft bits. She looked up at her monster as he started to fade and wished he could help her more. She didn't want to be trapped under a man again, never ever ever again. She felt so trapped as she struggled against them. Escape was the only thing she could think of now even though she was pretty sure she had done something to her wrist when it got crushed between them.

Whatever had grabbed him had let go of him just as he threw himself into the Senshi. They both fell down and immediately the Senshi was already attacking him. He got an elbow to the ribs and scratches on his neck. He had to get off of her. He rolled over to the side and quickly jumped back on his feet. "You need to leave, now." He said, heavy breathing accompanying it. He hadn't used any of his magic and he was feeling the effects of the battle. His skin felt like it was burning where the feeling was coming back again. He also took out his harp. "You don't want me to use this."

He had gotten off her, she lay there and stared up at him as tears started to roll down her face. "NO! YOU LEAVE!" It was more a wail than speech as the fog came out from her. She sat up and pulled her knees in close as she pulled a star seed from her subspace. Crunching it between her teeth as she sobbed she needed a moment before she would teleport out of her. the pain ebbed away and that familiar feeling rushed through her. The one that made things feel better. People would come running soon regardless so she would be without her prize but at least it might scare them off so she could get back together.
