Chrono, as Malice learned that the hard way when he was too warped in his own mindset and focused on Landry in their legendary feud
That his momentum was derailed by Freakshow, with a Beheader out of nowhere.
Even if Malice's foot was on the ropes, the ref blatantly ignored it, and caused Freakshow to become WWFG Champion

What better way to pay it forward than to give Jarel a taste of that same despair from a man that absolutely irked Jarel, in Freakshow

A devious cunning and crafty (and cowardly) man, but his methods were effective.

" Such a simple move, from a simple man... Yet ironically... Effective. Glad you're burning in the afterlife..."
Chrono remarked, patting his arm.

thankfully, Jarel hadn't broken his nose when his face hit the mat. It just hurt like a b***h.

"I'll be damned..."

The Dragon rolls to his side and pushes himself up to a knee, checking again just to make sure there was no blood. There was irony in that Jarel had taken special amusement out of beating up Freakshow while he was around, and yet the first move to take him off his feet belonged to arguably the most annoying man he'd ever met.

Would there be a reason to continue the nostalgia train?
Probably?
Who knows at this point, it was anyone's guess

But reaching down, Chrono went to grab one of Jarel's arms, and attempt to slide/drag him to the middle of the ring

If successful, he'd attempt to place the famous hold on him, a famous move so devastating that it appeared on Jericho's list of 1004 holds...

The dreaded

Jarel finds his arm caught and quickly finds himself back in the center of the ring. His arm is twisted into the armbar. Jarel has to think quickly to get out of this one.

Well, when in a spot, why not borrow from the reigning World champion? Since he's on his knee, it makes this slightly easier, as the Dragon rolls forward to right the direction of his arm. Not exactly the flip Drako would have done, but Jarel is 6'10", cut the guy some slack. Once he's in the ring direction, not vertical but his arm isn't twisted the wrong way, Jarel would attempt to catch Chrono's arm and toss him with a quick armdrag

Something, something about getting too cocky was it?
Chrono, who had a moniker of being called 'Admiral Armbar'

was turned around and flipped with an armdrag...
Such... A common move, and yet...

The God of Time was now on 'his' back groaning.

"What was it you said earlier? Such a simple move, but effective?"

Jarel can finally get to his feet again, a slight smirk on his face. It wasn't world shattering and probably less painful than that clothesline. Speaking of which, it might be time for the Dragon to live up to his name a bit more.

Much like Chrono had done him earlier, Jarel goes to grab his arm, but he's aiming to pull him up, then twist his arm and pull him in for a short arm clothesline, some payback for earlier

" Seems we both have a bit to learn..."

With Chrono getting pulled to his feet, he knew of plenty of people who would talk about the 'Rainmaker' clothesline, that famous short-arm clothesline

There was a brief period where Chrono trained against that move, and what was the best way to counter it.

In that moment where the clothesline was about to hit...
Jerk your body to the side, cause a rift in the momentum

and with Chrono and Jarel holding each other's wrists, Chrono attempted a move that while 'he' was never hit with

It was a move that was none the less deadly, spinning around once more, Chrono attempted to take a page out of Mike Landry's playbook and try and hit the 'American Neck-Tie'

(From behind, wraps opponent's left arm around opponent's neck and holds opponent's right arm out. Uses opponent's left arm like a ripcord to turn them around and execute a neckbreaker variation)

Jarel finds a counter to his intent, and this counter he is familiar with, as not only has he been on the receiving end, but the move is from one of those that has actually defeated the Dragon before. As Jarel is dropped to the mat, he vaguely recalls his battle with Landry and has a flashback from before, where he ended up in much the same manner, flat on his back on the mat, his hands going to his head after colliding with the mat

Crouching down, Chrono went to make a pin attempt to Jarel.

Knowing full well, that the Dragon was going to kick out of the move, and frankly Chrono would've been insulted if Jarel didn't kick out, and the fans would be disappointed.

The pin attempt was more of a 'I'm going to wear you out by making you exhaust yourself' kinda pin.

one...two...

Jarel does indeed kick out. But he's definitely going to feel that in the morning after all is said and done. Still, he can't remain down and he attempts to roll to the side to get to his feet as he regains his bearings

Getting up from the kick out, that Chrono knew was going to happen.
The God of Time rolled his neck, there was a definite crack, and he then proceeded to roll his shoulders, hopping in place for a moment.

" Got the kinks out there Dragon, or are we done warming up?"



Mauro: "That exchange was a warm up!? "

Regal: "When you've got two egos like theirs, and the amount of punishment they've been through, what they've done so far... I believe it"

Mauro: Well I'll be damned, and if you're tuning in fans and wondering why JR and King aren't there, it's because Chrono requested us.
Someone of wrestling royalty that isn't and I quote his words, not mine "A complete dumpsterfire of a commentator that set back women's wrestling 20 years, and Mr. Regal is fantastic commentator. "

Jarel regains his vertical base again and likewise rolled his neck.

"Yeah, I think we can say we're warmed up already. Let's really get to it, shall we?"

Farbeit for the Dragon to leave it all to the God of Time to kick off, as he'd aim to fire the next shot, a quick uppercut aimed for Chrono's jaw. about time to get to what he's used to

The striking blow ffrom Jarel's uppercut reverberated around the arena, and there was a pause.

As if for all intents and purposes, Time stood still.
A delay if you will, and Chrono staggered back before slumping on the ropes.




Mauro: What a maneuver!

Jarel had promised to bring his all here, and it was time to fight like he had his whole career. With Chrono against the ropes, Jarel looks to catch his arm and attempt to irish whip him across the ring, his intent to catch him on the rebound with a rolling spinebuster

The irish whip was accepted, but surely would Chrono be caught in that spinebuster?

Running off the ropes, the Behemoth darted towards the Dragon and aimed a vicious yakuza kick towards the Godfather of Hardcore!
