Traversing the rooftops of Destiny City at midnight, Hestia raced, sprang, jumped, and kicked off in a joyous state she hadn’t felt since she’d been fifteen and new to power. When she felt like she was flying toward something important, becoming something more. At some point she had lost her way, underneath the weight of disappointment, the loss of focus and responsibilities for anything outside of herself. At some point her feet had touched the ground and never really left again.

Next to her the wisp followed, it never seemed to be moving quite as fast as her, appeared rather slow actually, but nevertheless kept to her side. She wondered if it would be able to stay there, would be willing to after everything was said and done and lost. There had been an attempt to warn it, but who knew if it even understood?

Inhaling deeply, she slowed as she felt a captain’s signature in the area and moved toward it to see who it was, and if they could lead her to the one she was seeking. There was a determination in her heart, a resume in her space, and acceptance that this could very possibly be the death of her.

Borax was on the hunt.

That was, perhaps, his typical mode. These days, unlike when his assignment was simply to gather information, he didn't necessarily immediately approach every aura he felt. Borax didn't need to intentionally smack his face into every glowing obscene aura he felt on his radar just to make sure he was overperforming so solidly he gained attention. His duties were more finessed now, especially with the consideration that he needed to perhaps rebuild an informant network.

Still, he had noticed the eternal signature. It was hard to miss, and Borax, as he had since the demise of the bank, felt particularly incensed. It would be ... thrilling to watch blood stain white wings.

Perhaps it would give him a bit of the rush he felt he missed from not assisting Faustite with Cybele.

His spear was summoned to his hand without another thought, and he twirled it like a cheerleader's baton before heading forward. While he made no effort to charge it face-on, he knew that if he could feel the source, the source could absolutely feel him. There was no point in acting as if he could hide or get the jump.

...Though.

It was with a clever little smirk that he remembered an ability newer to him, and he was suddenly elsewhere in the vicinity. He knew he was likely still in the eternal's range, but ... let them come find him.

They had teleported? Hestia stopped running entirely, head tilted as she considered the situation. Were they...afraid of her? With the rank difference, she supposed it made sense, especially since she only slowed down her run a little, not entirely. It was understandable that they would be fearful and wary.

Since a battle wasn't her intention, it'd be better to make a show of that. Walking toward the signature, she did a light jump from one rooftop to the next, careful not to spring forward too aggressively. Landing lightly, she held her hands up, waiting to see if they ran away once more.

"It's okay...you can come out," she coaxed, voice solemn and gentle. "That's not what I'm here for."

He recognized that forsaken voice.

That was the one who he nearly successfully killed but then she stole him to her planet. There was a part of him still bitter about that, and another part of him still curious about the tea that she claimed to give nightmares. There was another part still that was curious about the purpose of lighting those fires on her planet. He did it for the sake of having the knowledge, but did it provide her an advantage that he wasn't aware of?

It was interesting that her aura was different now. She got an upgrade. Perhaps lighting that fire had been part of that.

And he hadn't yet. He still stood as a captain.

Son of a ******** b***h.

He swirled his spear around again, moving it to a position of pointing forward before considering his relatively new ability. He had been practicing teleportation, it took the civilians quite by surprise, but he would have to make sure he triangulated perfectly for what he planned to do. He didn't know what her magic was now, and he certainly didn't want to be suffering for it.

Borax breathed.

And then he appeared what he hoped was behind her.

It was fortunate for Hestia that her fancy new wings were only so much feather and crisp white cotton, not a physical part of her. Otherwise the back attack could've hurt quite a bit more than the long, thin, slice along her side. Glancing down at the bloodied spearhead poking past her waist, her eyes slid behind her and then up, at the specific horrible captain she'd been looking for this past week.

Face expressionless, she intoned, "Scrubbing Bubbles." And then she was jumping backward and out of the way, eyes focused on him, her super attack at the ready in case he thought he could do the same.

At least she was no longer conflicted about whether she should or should not beat his a** first.

Seiana_ZI

Eternal Sailor Attack: Scrubbing Bubbles!

(offensive) A hot, soapy avalanche of water smashes down upon the target. For the duration of this magic it can cause the sensation of third degree burns.

effect duration: 45 seconds
attack range: 20 feet
size: circle with a 10 foot radius
optional after effects: those in the affected area feel extremely fresh and clean afterward; players can choose to take lasting damage if they prefer.

He had landed a hit.

The question was, was the hit effective enough to do what he intended? It didn't seem so, because she wasn't laying on the ground the way she had been before, and she definitely still seemed alive when she looked at him. A pity really.

A pity for him, because she wasted no time launching her attack on him. He made mental note of it, he started counting down the time as he could, but everything felt like it was on fire.

His skin was sensitive, his skin was strange and clammy, his skin was on fire.

Borax couldn't quite help the way he hissed even between his mental count, and was only through experience counting through an eternal attack like Cybele's that it didn't entirely break his concentration. His grip on the spear became white-knuckle-tight, partially as a way to channel the pain, much in the way he did when he had originally gotten upgraded. He couldn't let her see it.

She could probably see it ******** maid b***h.

He growled, and attempted to fumble through how much everything incredibly hurt to shove her a little bit further away from him. He didn't know what kind of radius her attacks had, but she needed to get away from him nonetheless.

Borax was going to need some time to think about his approach, but he needed to see how her attack ended first.

Watching him fumble and try to move had her curling up the corner of her lip in a small, toothy sneer. He was much more pleasant company like this and she was counting too, as the water poured on, disappearing only as it hit the outer radius of the attack.

At one point he nearly reached the edge of it, until a black and white figure, blurred through the curtain of scalding hot water, rushed close and kicked him back toward the center of it. In her heart, just a little bit, Hestia wished they didn't have other business to attend to tonight. And that this attack had more than one cast. It'd be nice to play around with him like this a lot longer.

Perhaps to the right observer, her actions were quite justified. He had nearly murdered her last time he was here, and she was there, and she had the same amount of power as he did. To Borax, though, this felt particularly vile.

She should be ******** dead.

Borax quickly attempted to right himself when she shoved him towards the center, noting that like the other eternals he had dealt with, she had certainly gotten more strength too. Not much he could do about that at this juncture other than shove through it and try his best not to show how much it felt like everything was burning.

It burned until it didn't.

His skin felt raw, and when he looked down at his hands for a moment he half expected to see blistering throughout. Perhaps he did, perhaps he didn't, but at this point it didn't matter. He needed to ******** finish what he started because this b***h apparently was now a bigger problem than just strangely proficient at fighting.

Borax swirled back toward her, ignoring the fact that his feet didn't particularly like that, and brandished his spear at her. As before, he had no particular speech, no particular thing to say to her, he just advanced forward in hopes of maybe actually killing her this time.

It wasn't like Cybele, where at the very least in that first encounter he could count on her leaving him alone.

Watching the magic fade, ready for him to try and hit back, Hestia simply crossed her arms and skipped back as he recovered. Her smirk faded back into a more typical solemnity. That was enough playing around.

Which didn't mean she refrained from hitting him with more magic.

"The Sparkling Finish!"

She'd gotten stronger, but that didn't make him weak, after all. It was better to keep him a little less mobile for the moment. Plus, she might have another scar now from that back stab. A little more damaged was owed, wasn't it? As the area lit up and the ground turned slick under his feet, Borax would hear her intone, utterly serious, "I want to join the Negaverse. Please assist me."

Seiana_ZI

Super Sailor Scout Attack: The Sparkling Finish!

(debuff) A person-sized scouring blast hits a surface, giving it the appearance of highly polished metal. It causes a highly blinding glare and makes everything within its circle extremely slick and difficult to maneuver in.

effect duration: 35 seconds
attack range: 15 feet
size: circle with a 15 foot radius
optional after effects: those in the affected area feel extremely fresh and clean afterward
uses: 2
- Hestia is immune to this effect -

And she hit him with that blinding slick bullshit, he took mental note that she probably didn't have another one of those burning every part of his body attacks. Good to know for the update he needed to make to her entry, good to know for the general references he needed to make for her at large--

He attempted to shove through the fact that he could barely see, closing one eye and keeping the other just barely open to figure out where her outline was. Keeping one eye closed would stop him from seeing spots when he was able to open them back up at least.

There she was--

He paused and stop before he reached her, in part because the ground was slick and in part because her statement was completely unexpected.

There were several people he wanted to work on either convincing to join the Negaverse or at least be pried into giving him information. She was not one of the people he expected in either bucket. He thought that force corrupting her could have some utility, but he didn't think that a willing switch of sides would be particularly in the cards.

"You're serious."

She sounded it, but he really couldn't be sure considering all the circumstances around everything.

"You want to join the Negaverse. You." Maybe he should get his boss down here before she got off the drugs. "Why should I even ******** trust you?"

If this was a way to get him to let his guard down, the spear did not get lowered.

Slipping her resume out of subspace, Hestia powered down, leaving only one Emily Moffat standing in front of him as the attack faded.

"I'm serious."

As the attack faded off, he took the piece of paper with his free hand that she was offering him.

A resume.

He couldn't help his guffaw of disbelief, the fact that she was literally trying to apply like it was a ******** interview. Of all the people he was pursuing, this was not the result he expected. He would give her that much, she had managed to surprise him.

But he wasn't wanting to give up easily.

"Alright," he scanned the sheet, "Emily." God, every part about her was literally just maid wasn't it. She did look like an Emily.

"I'll entertain this." His voice was quite jocular, much like the cat that ate the canary without getting to eat anything himself. "But there are two things I would like to ask first."

He slipped his pen out of his pocket.

"One, you are fully willing right? It won't matter if you're not. My superior would not take well to you simply not joining after being called in. You will either become willing to join, or you will simply be dead. Won't that be poetic."

He smirked as he stepped just a bit closer, still not quite lowering his spear.

"Two, Emily Moffat. Would you so happen to have some of that, what is it?" He gestured widely at the air, letting the resume flap around a bit. "Nightmare causing tea on you?"

Hands primly in front of her, Emily politely listened to him laugh, warn, and lecture, feeling it would be better to just let Borax get it out of his system. "I've arranged my affairs. Should you kill me here and now, no one will look for me for a long time, possibly years. Either as a senshi or a civilian."

Standing calm and with dignity in the face of that option, she went on, "I'm leaving a very successful life for this. I just got over a million subscribers on YouTube and my influence is spreading well beyond the internet. My analytics and growth this past year? Are excitingly notable. That career is now gone. I have good friends and people I love and care for that I have left behind me, simply by appearing before you like this. People who will hate me should they find out what I've done." Taking a breath, she stated firmly, "Do not question my determination."

Taking a deep breath, she crossed her arms and added, "As to the tea? We'll see if I remember the location of the storage unit I prepared. Should I survive."

She would make an interestingly good fit for infiltration, but fortunately and unfortunately. There were other people on the team that she could hook up with immediately, Jadarite and Lilith--not that he had seen her recently--the first two that came to mind. They could get her set back up with something in that realm, even if it wasn't a million followers on some kind of cleaning channel on youtube.

Some people found those things really soothing. He didn't. He hired people to do that.

"Quite surprising you take such a path. Did you lose someone recently? Or did Order stop seeming so appealing?" He raised a brow. "Perhaps the idea of digging around in someone's chest and stealing their soul for yourself has a bit of appeal beyond that."

He still wanted to root around in her chest, but he had something to look forward to.

That tea, for one.

"You live, you're getting me that tea." He tilted his head. Best to make sure he was clear. "And you're not making it for me. You're giving me a bunch of the leaves. Large tin. Loose leaf." Borax had wanted to get his hands on that the moment it was brought up. This was his closest to a shot at actually getting it. And if she died, there was nothing lost really, other than the fact that he wouldn't be able to maybe get a little bit more tasty torture in.

A pity, that.

Absently, as he pulled up Faustite's information so painfully slow, he couldn't help but to spend a bit more time thinking about that storage unit. It wasn't a part of the initial deal that he made, but he could certainly ask after it. "Your mind isn't guaranteed to make it through this. Have you left the location of the storage unit with anyone?"

He could figure out who it was under anyway, the timing even if she put it under a different name than her own would help him figure out where to find it, but having a name of somebody to threaten would be perfect.

"Hestia is a world of service," she explained, a little vaguely, not quite willing to explain the emotional ups and downs she went through to reach this current understanding and purpose. Besides, he didn't deserve to know. "In serving the Negaverse, I'll be serving my world and my purpose as its senshi."

He was so very interested in that tea which was...in character with the sadism he'd shown in their past encounters. If anything, it truly confirmed her assumption that this was the person she could trust to hurt her without compunction or remorse.

With a sigh, she let the vague little threat go. "The key and unit number are in my subspace, and I won't be taking it out until after I've been...well, corrupted." The term felt awkward on her tongue, but she had to acknowledge it for what it was eventually.
