After a busy couple of days Tiam had some time off and he had sent Zota a letter asking to spend time with her. Of course he'd have liked to ask her in person but busy hours made it difficult. The letter had basically told her that if she would like to spend time together then she could meet him by a small shop in town. So he'd dressed up and made sure he looked presentable before leaving to meet her. Tiam just hoped she had the free time to spend with him as well. If not then he'd make a point of buying her a gift and dropping it off for her. As he waited he felt a bit nervous. Tiam felt bad for having been busy for so long and unable to really spend time with her. He wanted to give her more of his time so he was working on getting his schedule under control.

Zota had been utterly delighted to receive an invitation from Tiam. It really had been too long since they had been able to spend time together. Part of her had thought that her moving to town would make getting together easier, but work kept her much busier than she had realized it would. It just made this coming meeting feel all the more special though. As per usual, she spent far too long getting ready. She probably could have shown up in a nightgown and they would have been fine! ...Not that she would ever do such a thing, but she could have! Instead, she touched up her makeup just right, made sure her hair framed her face just so, and smoothed out the skirt of her dress precisely. When she finally reached the meeting place, her cheeks flushed with delight at the sight. "Tiam!" She automatically hooked his arm with her own and gave it a light squeeze. "I'm so glad you invited me out today."

When he heard his name called he knew instantly who it was. Tiam grinned almost from ear to ear as Zota grabbed his arm as she usually did. "I'm glad you were able to accept. I'd like to spend more time with you." He would have to make sure his work schedule had more time off for her from now on. He reached over with his free arm and gently smoothed a bit of Zota's hair, not that it really needed it. "You look gorgeous today, as always." Her golden colors reminded him of the precious metal. After thinking for a second he slowly removed his arm from her hold then held his hand out for her instead. "If it's not too bold, I'd like to hold your hand." Tiam was nervous to ask for her hand but he figured it was time they did a bit more intimate things. Hand holding! The tips of his ears slowly turned pinkish.

Zota was as pleased as could be to hear Tiam's sentiments and nodded with agreement. If they really could find more time to get together, how wonderful would it be? Ah, she would never tire of hearing him tell her how much he liked her looks! It made the excessive preparations worthwhile, for sure. "Thank you. You look quite handsome, of course." With how much she liked spending time with Tiam, knowing that he was utterly dreamy to look at was a bonus. Imagine her confusion when she felt Tiam pull his arm free. Her fingers released hesitantly as a prickle of concern went down her back. Thankfully, he didn't keep her in suspense. The new offer made her delicately rouged cheeks brighten even further around a rapidly spreading smile. She hadn't thought of handholding as a big step before, but now that she was facing it.... "I would like that," she replied bashfully. Before she could overthink it, she gently reached out to lace her fingers with Tiam's and squeezed affectionately.

Tiam never really thought he looked any better than presentable but hearing Zota say otherwise made him feel good. At least he knew he didn't look messy. With Zota accepting the handholding he felt his face heat up a little but he returned the gentle squeeze she gave. His heart was basically pounding in his chest. A deep breath later to calm his nerves he started to lead them down the street. "I thought we could enjoy a walk before getting something to eat. Unless you wanted to do something different?" Tiam figured on their walk they could find something that Zota wanted and he could get as a gift. "Today is about you. Whatever you want to do we can do." Tiam lifted their joined hands up so he could place a kiss against the back of hers. Little signs of affection to show how he felt and make up for being busy the last few days.

Her excitement showed clearly with her shy but delighted smile. Their relationship was progressing, and Tiam was being so cute about it! Had she ever seen his ears turn pink before? "I didn't have anything in mind. I will certainly be ready to eat after a little walk." Nothing in mind aside from just being able to spend time with Tiam... An utterly cheesy thought. Zota's heart skipped a beat at the affectionate gesture. "Oh, you're so sweet.." she murmured around a bashful giggle. Whatever she wanted... Well, maybe if she set up the scene properly..? "Do you remember the lake we went to on our first date? There's a café near there that I believe you would enjoy."

Cornetified Sorry it took me a few days.. little one has been fussy Knowing she had nothing in mind meant they could enjoy a walk at a leisurely pace. Tiam was pleased to hear it. He planned to enjoy the time they had together. When she brought up the cafe by the lake he nodded his head. "I remember. Though today is about you so I hope you enjoy this cafe as well."He smiled fondly at her before gently tugging on her hand to lead the way. Once they were walking he divided his attention between where they were going and Zota, though it was mostly on her. "Did you have a good week?" He was genuinely curious about how her days had gone since he last saw her.

Zota cocked her head with a soft giggle. "I do enjoy it. That is why I suggested it. Besides, seeing you happy is what will make me happy." Her sisters would be gagging if they could hear the pair... but she didn't care at all. The smitten young woman would take all the eye rolls that could be thrown at her if it meant she could spend more time with the young man of her affections. "I did!" While the affection remained, an additional glow of excitement rose around her. As busy as work kept her, she did enjoy it a great deal. "Mistress Pawree has been giving me more responsibility at the shop. She had a large order come in for someone's party gowns and they're being rather demanding about how quickly it gets done. She showed me how to make the petticoats so that I can make them while she works on the outer layers. They also want these embroidery hair pins, so I'm making those as well. Thankfully, she has these wonderful gloves to protect my fingers while I work. I have never seen a fabric like it before. I'm certain they would be full of holes otherwise!" She held up her free hand and wiggled her fingers playfully. "They're aching by the end of the day... but I feel really good about what I've accomplished so far." Heras Box No worries at all. My little guy's been teething so my brain power is fickle.

They walked as she told him about her week and Tiam paid attention to every word. A look of pride crossed his features as Zota seemed excited about her work. His gaze moved over at her free hand as she wiggled her fingers and the leafling couldn't help the rumbling chuckle he gave. "I might need some of those gloves for when I do sutures." Thankfully he'd not poked himself but one couldn't be too careful. "I am sure your stitch work is much better looking than mine." He paused in their walk and gave a soft tug on her hand. Tiam lifted their linked hands up and gently unlaced their fingers just so he could examine her fingertips. "I am glad you don't get hurt doing your job." If she did he would just heal her and make sure she had the best ointments and care. Grabbing her hand again he slowly pulled her to him and into his other arm for a hug.

Ah-ha! Zota's smile remained bright as a new plan came into her head. If Tiam was really interested, then she would make absolutely certain to get him a pair of the gloves as well! It certainly made sense with his work As she had said; she didn't know what the material was, but surely Mistress Pawree would know where to get more. Wait.. how did one sew together pierce-resistant fabric? She had walked another couple steps before she realized they were stopped and turned back to give Tiam an inquisitive look. The gentle examination of her hand sent a warm flush to her cheeks. "Well.. if I ever did get an injury, I would know exactly who to go to." Then she was pulled in close... Her eyes widened with surprise while her heart gave a thud in her chest. It was a simple hug.. but it still sent warmth through her whole body. With a pleased sigh, she closed her eyes and leaned against Tiam's chest contently. After another second, her arms rose to hug around his waist as well. Had she ever felt so secure before?

He was pleased to feel Zota put her arms around him. It meant he hadn't overstepped in giving her a hug. Tiam was being much more bold today than he had previously in their relationship. The leafing just wanted to show her how much he cared for her despite their busy schedules making time limited. When she mentioned who to go to if she got hurt he smiled. "Mhm. I'll always take away your pain and make you feel better." Tiam leaned back just a little so he could look at Zota. "I want to always make sure you are happy." And he meant that. Whatever Zota wanted then he'd get it for her.

Zota's cheeks kept their flush as a content smile curved her lips. "I believe you," she assured softly. She knew that no matter what happened, she could could on Tiam to help her feel better. He had yet to treat any physical injury for her, but she had complete faith in his abilities. Just look at how he lit the world when he was around! She looked up as Tiam shifted and she felt that thump in her chest again. He was so close, and so handsome... Watching to make sure it was okay, she slowly shifted so that her arms could reach up to hook over Tiam's shoulders and gently pulled herself up to press a kiss to his cheek. "I want you to be happy, too."

He was pleased to see her moving so that she could hug him a bit closer. Though a bit of surprise crossed his face when she pulled herself up. Tiam turned his head a little to ask her what it was that she was doing but in doing so he made it so that Zota didn't' kiss his cheek but got his lips instead. Since it was his movement that caused the accidental kiss Tiam could only stand perfectly still in the hopes that Zota wouldn't hit him or yell at him. His hands were the only thing that moved. They curled into fists as he waited for her response to what happened.

She hadn't been expecting him to move, and there was no time to change her course. Zota's heart leapt up into her throat as their lips pressed, her own body briefly going still. Of course, her view was that Tiam had moved purposely to intercept the kiss... and it made her belly clutch with delight. Her first kiss! Their first kiss!! Cheeks flushed bright with heat, she closed her eyes and pulled herself up to deepen the kiss just a little bit. Just enough to show she approved of his 'choice' to take things that step further.

He didn't get instantly smacked like he thought so perhaps it had been a good accident? When Zota made the kiss just a little deeper he relaxed. She approved of it even if he hadn't asked. Tiam shifted just a little so that his arms wrapped fully around her, pulling her into a hug. When the kiss finished he leaned back so he could search Zota's face for a reaction. A shy smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. The leafing was pleased that they had their first kiss. It actually made him wonder if he'd be able to kiss her more often from now on. Perhaps they had reached that point in their relationship? He certainly hoped so. He cleared his throat softly. "I'm definitely happy." He finally spoke. He was tying their kiss into the previous conversation. Tiam felt happy being with Zota and even more so after that.
