Info

Personality:
Sensitive
Dedicated
Rash

Lyco feels things very deeply, and is quite empathic when it comes down to it. He is slowly learning how to manage this and his emotions. He is always there for friends and family when they need help or someone to talk to. He does his chores and his studies thoroughly and completely opening himself up for leisure time later. He particularly likes working with the family radaku and his own Yshene. He is also excited to begin work with the janarim that his family recently purchased from a local breeder in Jauhar. He has chosen a magic path to do with storms because he always loved the vibe of storms since he was little and born on quite a stormy night.

He is a bit rash when it comes to decision making or while in a confrontation in that he will jump before he thinks, and this can have unpleasant consequences later. He likes to read and inform himself on matters of the world outside his home that way. He is not sure when he wants to travel but cherishes the memory of a hunt washed out by a big storm in which he got to spend some rare one on one quality time with his Dad. He adores his brother his partner in crime and is very protective over his younger sisters. He enjoys cooking and is learning that art from his Papa Isaris.

History:
Son of Vallen and Isaris (by Briska the surrogate with Vallen). He and his brother Lurathyyr keep their parents busy. Lyco is quite hyper and giggly at this tender stage. He will grow to be a confident young man.

His parents fell in love a long time ago and finally were able to realize their career dreams and start on a family, they could not be happier to have him and his brother.

So far they hang around his Father Isaris old camp and help with the critter chores.

They have since gained two sisters; Keket and Asenath, sired by Isaris with the same surrogate Briska.

The family was somewhat shaken up after a recent attack while on a shopping trip in which their beloved janarim Dep was injured. Dep is on the mend and should recover fully.

Storm Born
Lyco was wandering through the forest that his family tended. He was thinking about the story of his and his twins’ birth, they were born during a storm that struck with lightning what felt to his Dad like quite too close to the house where their Mother was giving birth to them. Lyco was aware that they didn’t have the traditional family arrangement of a Mama and a Papa but instead he got two Papas and he felt like that was a fair enough trade. He had never met the lady that had given birth to him and that was okay as she was just helping his parents out. That was pretty cool of her to do in his opinion. He was super grateful that she had given him a brother though, he figured that between him and Lura there was something of her in them and that was enough for him. He was not wanting for love or attention so he didn’t feel like it was that big of a deal. What was cool though was the story about the lightning, for as long as he could remember he had been obsessed with storms and how they changed the air and the vibe and the overall wetness of the land, how it worked in cycles with occasional big weather that made even the largest of men feel small and wanting to seek shelter. Some things were the gods own powers he was sure. It had started to rain and as it was quiet time in the house he sat by the window and looked out, for once he was not reading as that was his other favorite pastime. He sighed as the effect of low barometric pressure made his eyelids heavy and his body relaxed. The only problem with storms was that they both obsessed him and made him sleepy with their calming powers at the same time. Its not that he minded getting wet in fact he sometimes liked to play in the rain but the snuggly cozy sensation was always best in a rain storm. Droplets pattered onto the glass pains and the fresh rain drenched air came in through the screen to tantalize him with the scent of new life being breathed back into everything. A storm was a bringer of chaos and life and he loved every electrifying moment of them. He did prefer those with thunder and lightning but even a hearty rainstorm was good. Even one of those entirely wet days when the pet radaku came into the house all soaked. He liked to brush them out and help them dry off, usually it was just Vallen’s female or male who were allowed in the house unless Isaris took pity on one of his own. Unduru was a model citizen and the female would protect the people in the house with her very life come down to it. She was judgemental, lurking protection but she did put up with them as younglings crawling on her so there was that. She understood that they were cubs and not to be corrected unless utterly necessary. Only because they were not actually her cubs, though somedays she tried to mother them. She came over and flopped down next to him, also staring at the outside but more with longing than not. She was happy to be dry but she would have been just as happy out there with the rain coming down. She was very smart, for some reason he could just tell this. She was a special creature, special like Unduru but more so, like in a mystical way that he chose not to think on too hard or he might ruin the concept for himself with logic, a propensity that he thought came from his other Dad Isaris, who at times seemed more grounded than Vallen, but it sort of depended on the circumstance too. They sort of balanced each other out nicely and Lyco thought that he and his brother Lura sort of did the same thing for each other, at least he wasn’t always alone if he did not want to be. He could take or leave company, with the exception of the people he was or would become very close to one day. He had an open mind and an open heart and thought hybrids were pretty cool. These were the sorts of things that he liked to run over in his head and really think about when it was raining it was his special consideration time. Mostly the family left him alone during times like this because it was rude to interrupt the small one who stared at rain and kept quiet, sometimes for hours when he was normally going about 500 miles a minute in every direction. Lura was a bit more calm than he, he had to admit, he seemed to have got the bulk of his father’s manic energy that could be put toward great good or great evil depending on his particular inclination at the time of the event. Lyco stood for a moment, on one leg with the other bent in at the knee resting on the other leg, it was something his father had taught him to improve balance and muscle control and Lyco found himself doing it when he was bored especially. He though about how the animals must feel, snug in their runs or pacing the fenceline in the rain as some of the more energetic radaku tended to do. Lyco felt just like them sometimes. He curled his hand into the thick but strong fur of the radaku female that kept him company, she was particularly in love with Vallen but had come to like Isaris too and she was the best protection for the kids if the two adults were a bit far away to deal with an immediate threat. She was like his blankie or his hot water bottle. When Lyco was upset he would go find her and curl up with her and pretend he too was a wild radaku and that way the stuff that was upsetting him did not feel quite so scary anymore. Not that anything in particular was upsetting him today. Though he did oddly feel like he was missing some sort of detail, he couldn’t put his finger on it so he shrugged and went on to the next pile of thoughts that needed consideration.

Poison

Very patiently, he searched carefully through the moss by the gently flowing stream the bright moss and its food lime green goodness stood out against the steel gray of the rocks, dark with wet. It was a beautiful contrast that he couldn't help but admire the stick was a necessary precaution even though he was what he sought could be quite rare in some places. It was too dangerous to touch with bare skin any teeny cut and it would be lights out he was far too pretty to die. But the poison when rubbed on a dark made a wonderfully efficient weapon. It was an honorable way to hunt and didn't stress the prey. It honored their spirit sacrifice to kill prey as painlessly as possible. This was the first rule of hunting. His Papa said he was a good helper and he was very proud of that he had boundless energy and hunting was both fun and challenging and let him use all of his senses and was almost living meditation in nature. There was honor and then it was balance. These were equally needed to finally he lifted a piece of moss away to reveal a golden amphibian. Delighted he rubbed his specially marked arrows with grooves gently on the back of the amphibian and payment, which was only respectful for the gift he left a worm for the clear. He signaled to the female radical often babysat him and his brother, even though he was making sure to stay within the boundaries of their land. Only then, were he and his brother any kind of safe. It was well patrolled by the family animals and thus it was as safe as a wild patch of your heart and rainforests could be. It was beautiful here he liked it much better than the old place that they really stayed at the old camp was no home he loved every moment of living there. There were meadows to lay in and cozy nooks of trees to have a solid nap and he didn't even mind the sometimes rough bark. That was pretty good for a tree. It was the most charming childhood he could imagine. He was happy to have a brother and a ton of pets to play with. He never felt too alone. He stopped quietly through the forest bow half drawn with Arrow knocked with a small bow. And the arrows were made like darts. Whoever it was still effective. He managed to get just enough smallest game for a meal for himself and his brother. His parents would likely eat something else. Though he got brownie points for hunting, it was an excellent life saving skill hunting in this way with an ancient family tradition. It was taught orally the sons and daughters of some shifter families. It amused him to think of people hijacking poison from plants and animals for their own purposes. He knew that some of the family radically liked to eat they're either fermented or hallucinogenic fruit that made them bark and howl and carry on nothing It always made him smile. His dad said the animals were just being silly. He rather thought the animals were being smart, but he hadn't been brave enough to try the berries. He had been warned that they were not for eating and he respected that he might be a tad hyper and more than a tad headstrong, but he did listen to things that pertain to danger. He felt in some ways that he was destined for greatness. He wasn't sure how it would come about, but he was sure he was meant for something really cool. The first thing he did was clean his dirt tip so he didn't hurt himself by accident. Hopefully if stuck he would just fall asleep the alternative whoever was deaf and he was not willing to risk that his parents would bring him back to life and murder him again. The thought made him smile. Though both dads could be really scary when they thought their kids had been in danger, which to be fair was their job as parents. He adored them both. They were always there when their kids needed them for better or for worse. That was what family was and he was grateful for it. Grateful to not be alone in this great in crazy world. There was always some sort of life or death drama every single day this deep in the jungle. It was a rule for the teeming life out beyond their camp. He felt secure at home though was well protected. There were many different forms of poison in the jungle. And they were all very fascinating to him. So many different applications. And that was before you started mixing them. You wanted to get good at that simply because it was cool and you never knew when something like that would come in handy. Fortunately, there happened to be many books on a subject so he would start with learning lots of good source material at the very least. There are poisonous plants all over tendaji with Jauhar and Yael likely competing for the most. So it would be Jouhar, where he would start best to do it now. younglings apparently had great learning abilities compared to adults, which apparently sometimes struggled low his parents were pretty sharp so he didn't put too much store by that he would save his allowance and buy books on poison. His parents said that everybody needed a job. That and storm magic would be his. That would be a pretty cool mix. In his opinion. He would be deadly in so many ways. He clapped his hands delightedly and scurried off back down the trail with his couch. He paused for a moment said a prayer for the teachers and get them. Proper harvest came with many prayers. Each animal had also gotten a prayer when he had killed it. It made the hunter respect and value the meat more so his dad said it seemed to work but he was somber when it came to the subject anyway. He was proud to help provide for the family in whatever way he could. His dad talked often about his grandfather Sauron and how he had inspired Vallen to work hard to provide for his family. This Lyco had also been inspired in between learning he always took time to devote a few hours to putting wealth back in the family again. He got home tired but grinning broadly his skin his skin the carcasses and let them be in the cool room to be butchered by the adults later. Then he gratefully went to the bathing area which to his happiness included an outdoor shower area which he tended to prefer over the more regular indoor one. He somehow felt fresher in the outdoor shower area. He took off his grimy clothes and left them in a heat before turning on the water and basking in the hot water that poured over his grimy self.

There are few places out there as mystical as Jouhar, at least in his not so humble opinion. Deep at the very heart of shifter religion lay the moon and the revered moon goddess Serin. She was a veritable constant in their lives. There were other gods to which he appreciated but the goddess sarin, embodied by the Moon was the greatest and most powerful. It was for a time meant for contemplation in their family. He chose this time to contemplate the gods he believed in. The full shifter Pantheon would be a man's life's work to bond it all together as they varied from person to person. And after completion it would already be innacurate. Sometimes they were greatly different. He enjoyed hearing about the others gods to besides sarin, there was quite a few others that he specifically believed in some from his parents and some of his own some had been gained through fins. It was a beautifully customizable system. Some of these deities had a large part in his life that others obviously Azrit the goddess of birthing did not pay as big a part in his life as a goddess like Metta, a forest goddess would since he lived deep in the woods, and no one in his family could bear children. He still acknowledged her though he adored Zulu, the god of night followed oddly by Samush, god of monsoon and lightning. Allundai and his wife Mundai. The God of the ocean and the goddess of tide came next. They worked together in a similar way to his parents, and he thought that was pretty cool. Ovar the sun god and his bright rays of warmth. Working in tandem with Serin , the animal God was a popular fellow in their household what with all the animals contained there in Zelance, the ever bloodthirsty goddess of war with her sharp stuff starting temper, and Nagi, goddess of spring made up the pantheon of gods he was worshipping and believed in. No doubt he would collect more over time a shift towards belief in God's list was unique like a fingerprint, though they could be identical to another especially those are close family ties. He knew each of his parents had sub gods in common in some different he loved hearing the stories passed down by either parent pertaining to some specific god and their antics in the real world, usually marked by political skirmish and acts of newsworthiness. This was a neat concept and he liked it enough to wholeheartedly buy into it. It kept him busy, and it helped make sense of weird events to so everyone didn't just panic thinking that the world was after them. It is obviously just been a God having a tantrum. His gaze was drawn back to the moon seen through the eyes of shadows. He loved that his people's skin shifted with the moon. It was a beautiful, peaceful thing. He loved the flick between one blink and another between the two classic shifter forms. His whole family was a shifting scene of pure beauty. He thought at all the other tribes skin didn't shift Water Tribe had that cool two tone with spots that was close. And the yealy apparently had glowy eyes. He had seen one Water Tribe person but as of yet he not seen anyone from Yael they had purple hair that was really cool. He wondered if he had originally been a tribe of water and fire over time, their hair had gotten purple on their skin had adapted that weird Yaeli miasma. Everyone else who visited apparently got ill what had driven them historically to stay in a weird place like that. Had the miasma been there always what had caused it they might have been able to adapt to it. If they were already there. When the miasma started, a jungle was a dangerous enough place to live never mind a jungle where the air was faintly poisonous to he decided that he should visit there one day, maybe one of his dads would take him on an adventure. Maybe the whole family would be able to go to Yale. They would need a babysitter for the animals though when they did go if they did, he would ask real nice and see where that went. Hopefully travel wasn't too expensive. He basically had never left his camp besides hunting and going to the market with whatever parents would take him when they didn't get to go Vallenhyrr. Isaris sometimes brought them treats and we're crafting supplies, so the market days were already always popular. He hoped you would get to go again soon. Well, it seemed as usual that his mind wandered off track again. It seemed to happen quite a bit. He just contained so much energy. Apparently his father was the same. Isaris had his moments but Vallen was hyper all the time. Though, he said it had mellowed out some at his age. So perhaps he wasn't always be this hyper, Isaris was calm and steady most of the time, which helped both himself and balance. He was grateful for his whole family. They worked together so well. He smiled sweetly as Moon was now a seeing shining silver in the sky. The Goddess came back to keep her children company because he didn't have a mom he sometimes thought of the moon as his mum. It had a comforting feeling he spent the day with his dads and a portion of the night with his moon Mother. She was always there to comfort him after a long day of getting up to no good usually, he was a handful so his parents said, but you weren't the only you were only young once and he intended to seize every moment, no stone would be left unturned. Not if it were left up to him that was he grinned at the moon and recounted his day to it was like a diary that helped him process his thoughts but it was one that could be read by no one else unless they happen to be in hearing distance of his conversation with Serin and he knew that she loved to hear his stories and that she probably looked for forward to them every day. He wondered how many other shifters and non shifters talk to the moon like he did.

It was a deeply dreary day and it's been raining for weeks like who had tired of going outside for a while it took a lot of rain to dampen the spirit of little boys, but it had been raining for forever. And it even made valen soggy and slightly depressed from his father's usual self. However, that was what they got for living in the vegetable jungle to begin with. excessive rains came with the territory. Later the cycle would bring great bounty but for now all the rain brought was soggy. Pools had formed in the yard and the radicals were kept close to home for multiple, multiple reasons. This guy continued to pelt them with water. Well, if the sky wouldn't stop, he wouldn't melt in the rain. He needed to do something, anything adventurous, he just couldn't keep it in anymore, and thus himself could no longer be contained within the shelter and walls maintained by his parents. He put on some rain gear told his family he was going out and about and then dipped out the door with a gathering basket and little woven bug cages. It was bug and foraging time there had to be something out there taking advantage of all this rain and he would catch it. He took his hunting arrows to with the bow because you never knew when you would need a weapon defensive or hunting wise. It was rugged out there some days even with all their critter protection. The radaku we're good against most things we're not all things he could call madly as he dashed off across the yard. The further he got, the more he had to wait, sometimes up to his knees. This happened to slow his land speed quite considerably. He looked up into the trees it would be faster to move up there but he harder to see their boundary lines with the wild bush. He might get lost. It might be worth it. He was a big boy. He could handle it. He puffed out his little chest and climbed the tree. It was much easier to move a boat in the canopy than it had been on the ground. It was still slippery, his shifter skill protected him from falling. They started young in the tree climbing skills and shifter families and necessity in their dangerous jungle beasts filled home. He wouldn't have it any other way. His heart pounding he felt very alive. He was moving swiftly not paying as much attention to where he was so much. It's where he felt he should be. In short, he followed his heart his heart had led him well past the boundaries of his home. Unbeknownst to himself. He had been foolish perhaps not to be more careful intentionally but some might also say had been destiny. Of course everything was destiny. If you thought about it hard enough. Some might see him as an inquisitive thinker and doer his parents would stay he still had much more thinking to do and that his curious nature and bold personality got him just as much trouble there was no nevermind. He paused for a moment and changed direction slightly here here. It was whatever he was meant to see after such a long reign. He thought sarin was involved. He believed very deeply. The gods were a part of his life. He leaned upon him against the trunk of the tree he was on for a moment breathing hard he scanned the forest floor through the leaves and vines and beautiful flowers and fruits. He picked a few of the fruits which were a newly right family favorite. And he excitedly took the two great ones they were perfectly round. Red above and deep purple blow. They tasted like haskap fruit, and were very juicy with small black seeds in a tight bowl on the center. They recalled snake fruit and he adored him them. He was excited to share the first spoils of snake fruit season. This likely wasn't the only reason for being drawn here somehow, but it was a perk. He continued to want just as his heartbeat calm down. He felt a presence enter the clearing he looked around to see resplendent black and white slash radical and he immediately fell in love with the being with bright blue eyes. It was love at first sight, though currently only one sided, but he would be back eventually to whatever he was, he might be just nothing like look like familiar. But he felt somehow like he might make it home anyway struggling he decided to follow the radical for a while. This was such a good adventure after being stuck inside for so very long. He was sure his dads would let him have a pet after all, they had so many pets what was one more radical heck they would probably be proud one of the first they found him that was he was not all concerned he believed in their skills .S piebald Radaku who was too good to miss. He was sure they would understand utterly Sure. He grinned a little bit and switch trees flowing on his pursuit now and listen the consequences of his actions. He was a good boy, you know about 85% of the time. Today was not one of those days. Wild radically were unpredictable and aggressive known to have take out run really wonders but by growing up in the family he did he understood how to do better than most he had grown up studying them specifically, but not limited to his father's valance male and female. They were like surrogate parents, but he always had been properly supervised by his actual parents to like a wish that his brother were here as well. But then you might have felt bow that is some brothers somehow got in trouble with him when it had been his idea to begin with. Only he deserved any Heck if there was any. At worst, it meant extra chores just when which just seemed to help keep him busy even on rest days. It usually helped more than it annoyed him. He could be difficult, but it was simply because he wanted to experience so many things before he was struck as being a boring adult for forever. Though he was told it was less boring than he thought the thought it was exactly as boring as he thought and would not hear differently. Not keen from his beloved parents. That was simply a lesson he would have to be taught by life itself hopefully at a much later date. Much later that day, his father did find him drenched and lost, but in the company of a rather beautiful young radaku male. The Beast accompanied the angling home but man did he ever get an earful from his parents were running off over the area as he had. He had known one dad or another would find him and that was what mattered.

Storm Summoner Path

He had always known what he wanted to be. The storms had always called to him sweetest of all. One felt small and insignificant in their shadow. He trekked deep into the Jauharan forest to find his teacher after a flurry of letters passed back and forth between them. She had invited him out to her cabin to start his training. He had delightedly packed a bag and let his parents know what he was doing.
His Father hearing this had granted him his own radaku, a young dark male from Unduru's line. This would be one of his closest bonds in the years to come and the young adult would keep him safe in the heart of the jungle. His Dad had told him to be safe and he wanted to honor that command. On the way to the cabin he thought up a name for his new friend, who looked just like his Dad. In the end he settled on Yshene. He thought it a very good name. He started learning the critters personality on the way there. He felt it was only the tip of the iceberg. The hound was well trained and he was proud of that.

He arrived at the cabin and bid Yshene make himself comfortable. He felt closer now that he had a name.

He knocked on the door and was admitted. He filled out a questionnaire about himself and observed his new teacher. She had bright sparkly eyes and was absolutely covered in crystals. He had never seen a shifter quite like her, though he suspected there was something else mixed in there as her eyes were yellow. A hint of ice perhaps?

They got to know each other over tea and he learned that besides her job she liked to crochet and identify wildflowers, he told her about his families radaku program and then they got to their first lesson. He was in the right place!

After Market
He was of course upset after getting Dep back home. The critter was doing fine but the whole ruckus had shattered his naïve view of the world they lived in. He knew that his parents had lived though a war or two and for some reason none of that had clicked until he and them and his brother had all been accosted by bandits which of course wasn’t war but it wasn’t all that fun either. It had shaken him and he was disturbed to find that he was more fragile than he had always thought.
He supposed he had always had a lot of emotions but this felt different. This felt sharp and real and he was not impressed with that much at all. He wanted to be stronger to be tougher but all he could do was crawl up in the barn loft and have a good long sob. It was demeaning, something he would expect of his much younger tiny sisters BUT it was him..the teenage boy. He had never felt more vulnerable or more confused with all the things that had been happening. He knew his parents were a tad shake up, how could they not be when it was their kids and their Dep on the line. All they had wanted to do was go critter shopping! An innocent enough task. And yet it had snowballed into something bigger than them all.
He knew that the bandits had been reported and that likely someone had stepped in to knock them down a peg or two or incarcerate them but he still felt exposed and vulnerable. He had no interest in card games or visiting the neighbors. He felt like a shade had passed between him and the sun. Was this worry? Was this anxiety? He hoped whatever it was that it was just temporary.

Errand
He was finally brave enough to go into town near them, (not the one they had been attacked in), it had taken him quite a bit of time to want to go anywhere at all but they were out of fresh fruit and their own trees were still ripening. To save Isaris the trip Lyco volunteered to run the errand. At least he would be somewhat useful and it would feel good to get out for a bit.
He put on some shoes as he usually didn’t wear them at home. Then he took the coin he needed from the jar by the door. It was used as grocery money or emergency money depending on the day.
He grabbed a bag too so he wouldn’t have to buy one with the produce. Then he took Yshene out of his pen and got on.

They had been doing longer and longer trips and everything was going just great with his new best friend besides Lura and his sisters. Yshene started out at a walk then moved to a brisk trot which ate the miles below like they were nothing. Lyco had developed his riding muscles and posted the trot, exhilarated at the speed his friend could move while carrying him. He was so grateful that he had gotten one of Unduru’s doubles. Yshene was from a noble lineage on both sides and would be instrumental in Lyco’s development in so many ways. Pets taught empathy determination and patience. All much needed in society. Once they hit a field Lyco let him open up into a lope for a bit. It would be a good workout for them both. And they would have the produce back in no time at all.
He made the market in record time considering he hadn’t had to walk it himself. He picked up the fruit, paid for it. Got some meat on a stick as a snack and a second skewer for Yshene. He pulled the meat off and blew on it until it was cool and then fed the chunks to the radaku.
“Pretty good treat huh?”
