It had been a few hours since Magnus's memories had become...nonexistent? Fuzzy? It was hard to tell. The heavy ache in his chest was the more pressing sensation. A sleepiness had settled over him once he was finally loosened from Faustite's grip. Should be be perturbed by his lack of ability to remember what happened before he arrived...here? Possibly? No, probably. But sleep had been more important.
Now though, Magnus was awake, if lazy. His slender body was sprawled long as he lay on the cool floor of what he had come to know as Faustite's office. The young man with odd features had been fairly amenable to the Mau taking up residence not on his desk. Normally, Magnus would have much preferred a higher location, but it was effort he'd not cared to put in and the floor was cool against his body that had been hot from proximity to the General King.
A flick of his long tail, Magnus eyed the boy still floating around in the office. He wondered what kept the fire-boy so busy. "I hope you didn't stay in here to watch me sleep. That's a bit creepy." Magnus commented from his spot off to the left of the desk, back against a cabinet. He yawned. "Couldn't have been interesting if you did."
Finally, Magnus stirred himself and climbed to his feet. He stretched forward, then back, a single back paw lifting to make the stretch that deeper. Once sure he felt fairly decent, if still a bit achy, the grey feline marched over to the desk and hopped up with ease, perching himself on the corner, tail dangling over the side. Blue eyes eyed any paperwork on the steel desk top before panning to Faustite. "So, what's for dinner? It is dinner time right?" He looked around in search of some sort of clock. "How do you keep track of time here?"

"No," Faustite cast over his shoulder as he scanned the books on his bookshelf. "I have a ******** job to do." And that job, at the moment, required a book that someone must have ******** borrowed. Irritating. Incredibly, eminently irritating.
Faustite's arms dropped from where they had been crossed over his chest. One thumb slipped into the catch that normally housed that useless weapon while the other was left to carry on after his words, cleaning them up with more context. He approached the smelly little Mauvian slowly, as if he was still liable to bolt into any corner or crevice his loathsome, amorphous body could find. But he seemed more hedonistic and slothful, more preoccupied with thoughts of food than anything Faustite could have planned for him.
Not that Faustite's plans extended terribly far, as of yet. Tama had departed for the evening, leaving him with the furbag that he wanted brought in. It would be up to Tama to train him more personally in what the Negaverse expected of Mauvians, so Faustite assumed everything else was on himself. And while he was tired from turning the b*****d into Negaverse property, and his wrist still ached where all those needlepoint claws found their way past his skin, he wasn't one to let others just sit around and waste away like Magnus was doing.
"What's the time matter if you're hungry?" Time never stopped him. It was one of those human sentiments, where meals had to be eaten at certain times of the day, consisted of certain acceptable foods, and then one wasn't permitted to eat at any other times lest it be… Faustite didn't ******** know. The whole idea was stupid.
Because his curiosity was piqued, Faustite summoned a pocket watch on a delicate silver chain. It spilled like water over the palm of his hand as he opened it, eyeing the time. "It's 0204." For as much as that meant anything to the cat. He banished the memento thereafter.
"We'll feed you, but you're getting cleaned up first." He beckoned to the air as he brought forth Mizuki from wherever she was, wrested her from whatever she was doing.
"Mizuki, got a task for you. That thing," he pointed to the wad of grime and fluff on his floor, "is a Mauvian. Need you to help me bathe it. If you think it's squirming around too much, you can use my weapon to encourage compliance." He indicated the strangely-shaped sword that lay leaned against the wall behind his desk.

Mizuki popped into existence with a hand full of energy and a random jacket. She blinked at the sudden change of venue for a moment. Oh! Right, she'd felt the tug! Faustite had wanted her attention. Problem was that she hadn't exactly had time to, ah, drop the poor dude she'd been draining.
He hadn't come with her, apparently, but the jacket she'd been holding had. Huh.
Mizuki held out the orb of energy to Faustite. "Here, have some energy!" she said, glancing over to the fluffy cat sitting on the floor. Jacket now forgotten and crumpling on the floor, she crouched down to the cat.
"Fausty you can't call him 'it' that's mean! I didn't know we got a new kitty for the team! Hi! I'm Mizuki, and Faustite is one of my dads! Also you need a bath, you are a stinky boy. Such a stinky boy," she said, cooing at Magnus like he was a kitten or a normal cat.
She grabbed the jacket from where it was on the floor and began to swaddle the Mauvian to take him to the bath.
Wait. Where were the baths?
"... Dad, where are the baths?"

Magnus huffed indignantly. "It lets me know how long it's been since I last ate of course." It didn't matter if Faustite understood Magnus's reasoning behind it all. The boy-creature was obviously not going to tell him what the time was. So, the feline would just have to go off his stomach and his stomach told him it had been hours since he had last eaten anything. What had he last eaten? A pause in thought. He couldn't remember. Not that it really mattered since Faustite was promising food after a bath.
"I'd prefer my meal first." He said, not really arguing. Just stating a fact. Then a bubbly girl appeared, and the feline instantly found her energy that much more appealing. She seemed an excitable sort, but her cooing over him instantly won the Mauvians attentions.
He didn't fight her when she swaddled him in the jacket that smelled like it had belonged to a young man with the amount of cologne that was on it. "I am certainly not an it." He agreed with the young girl. "I am Magnus. How did someone as bubbly as you end up with such a sour looking 'dad?'" Faustite had been anything but cheerful since Magnus woke up so he felt it was a safe assumption that sour-puss was Faustite's disposition.
He sneezed once. Twice. He shook his head almost looking affronted for the sneezes. "This is the stinky thing. Just get me out of this jacket please?" He said, legs trying to push the object away from him as he attempted to scramble himself up out of Mizuki's arms and onto her shoulder. "I am going to smell like whatever it was the person was wearing." He said, like the cologne couldn't possibly make him smell any better than he already did.
"All I ask is that it's a warm bath!" He requested. "Cold baths are no fun."

Faustite was plainly shocked to have energy offered up as soon as Mizuki was properly summoned. It wasn't without a little delight, however, and he accepted it with a wordless nod of thanks. It proved a sizable orb, too; Mizuki had been busy and he looked the brilliant violet sphere over with interest while she did away with the jacket she held.
Huffing at her admonishment, he added, "He's very new. Few hours at best. Tama thought he'd make a good teammate." Though it was unlikely the cat remembered much of what had happened; he felt the strength by which he fought the negative energy pumped into his starseed. Wasn't much for that, though; absent any transcendence, the cat was doomed from the moment he wound up in Faustite's claws.
And now, he was a brainless little fluff that trailed a cloud of stink. Not precisely fitting for the team, but not entirely out of the question, either.
"Baths are in the barracks." He pointed eastward. "Leave the Citadel, follow the path that way. Baths are marked in every block. They stock soap, but I don't know if you can use that kind on a Mauvian." That might take a margin more effort to track down, maybe by teleporting inside of one of those pet stores and snatching something worth using. It was about the hour they'd all be closed, regardless.
Meanwhile, the cat's reasoning sounded moronic, but he was on the team now. He summoned to hand a pocket watch that he opened with the press of a button at the top. "Ten to midnight." Whatever that would tell the Mauvian about his last meal.
Seemed all Mauvians were picky little shits, what with the way this one complained about the smell of the jacket. Faustite imagined that all he had on offer wasn't much better, likely smelling of copper and burnt gunpowder, but the Mauvian lacked options. "Try this," he offered as he unclasped his pauldron. With it came the cape that was part and parcel to the lining — a heavy thing with a brocade lining that matched the remainder of his outfit. He held it out to Mizuki with the pauldron like a makeshift bowl.
He could pretend he never heard the sour comment. Best he didn't waste time explaining himself to an irreverent furbag.
