So, having to coordinate with people for once? Needing to plan the meet-up, coordinate where they could find each other and have enough time to make sure that Faust and Ash would be effectively hidden but not uncomfortable, and check-in with Autumn and Soren to make sure this was all still happening? Vanya had spent most of the day feeling dizzy, all bright and pink and excited? Yes……definitely excited. Because, for the first time, at the age of twenty-five, he was going to the cinema with friends.
People who liked him, even.
People who wanted to be around him and go watch a film together.
Vanya hadn’t even gotten to invite friends to see a movie for his birthday before, first because Jacob Renault and Ritka Bulgakova-Renault had kept his birthday parties family-only, and then because he’d fast run out of friends.
Maybe he’d only met Faust recently—and because that Murikabushi guy from the Dark Mirror had handed him off to Farbauti while calling him “Mr. Sparkles the Death Dealer” and telling Faust about Farbauti struggling with his magic—but Vanya felt like he liked the big ball of fluff and “rippling muscle.”…… That was why Vanya had ultimately settled on the alleyway behind Cut My Life Into Pizzas as a good place for their group to meet up. Apparently, Faust could rely on getting leftover pizza slices there, and far be it from Vanya to get between a Mauvian and one of his meals. First dinner, second dinner, umpteenth snack-time, didn’t matter and it wasn’t Vanya’s place to ask. All that mattered was making sure that Faust got to have his daily pizza slice and didn’t need to miss out or trouble himself too much.
A bit earlier than the agreed-on meeting time, Vanya skulked toward the pizza joint. Even without the sun making things unnecessarily warm, summertime weather didn’t mix well with Vanya’s oversized black hoodie. At least he’d only need to zip it up when the time came for Faust to crawl in and get cozy. Before ducking into the alleyway proper, Vanya looked around, just to make sure nobody was around to stare at him oddly for talking to a cat. Satisfied that they’d be alright, though, he searched the place while calling out, “Hey, Faust? …Faust? ……Your Imperial Majesty, Lord Sparkles the Death Dealer?”

In truth, it was easy to find Faust if one was looking for him. The cat had made routine into habit, to the point that he would become incorrigible and almost violent if he did not accomplish his daily routines. He had, by now, an entire smorgasbord of different locations and foods worked out in his favor, and he made that circuit daily. At roughly the time that Farbauti was coming to look for him, Faust had been at the end of the circuit, and was currently passed out behind the dumpster in a food coma.
Even after hearing his Right and Proper Title, the cat could only grunt from his newly interrupted sleep. He licked his chops, blinked blearily, and flicked an ear for how a dangling dumpster spider kept tickling it. By aura sense alone, he guessed it must have been a senshi that was powered down, for he sensed nothing out there — not even a youma whose a** he could kick as an after-fourthmeal snack.
So he had an admirer out here — an admirer powered-down senshi who was familiar with both his He Man The Man Competition alias and his actual, bona fide Mauvian name. Faust chuffed.
He wasn't about to crawl out from behind the dumpster, however. He was too heavy with pizza to shift his girth for so little payoff as seeing who it was. He couldn't smell any food on them, so what the hell was supposed to motivate him to come out and greet them. Clearly this was an amateur Faust admirer at work.
"Yeah, whaddaya want." Faust called back from behind the dumpster. "Make it quick. Yo' b***h a** is interruptin' my nap."

Soren had to admit, he wasn't sure what to make of the prospect of going to the movies. It was...well, it was unfamiliar to him, but the prospect in general wasn't entirely terrible.And he liked Vanya, even if he was thoroughly different from the Farbauti he had known; people could change greatly in reincarnation, and as much as Vanya was a mess as a Senshi, he had a good heart.
And honestly, Soren was excited to get to experience something that was apparently a very normal Earth experience. This was the planet on which he found himself, now, and he ought to learn about it, and, if nothing else, Vanya had seemed so eager...
So he ducked into the alley behind the mentioned pizza restaurant, looking for a familiar shock of blue hair--and he spotted it, and stepped over, smiling politely in greeting.
This wasn't entirely a pleasant place to be, but he'd certainly seen worse.
"Hello, Vanya," he greeted. "Who else is joining us today?"

Autumn could not WAIT to come out to the movies with all her new friends tonight. Because, of course, tonight was Barbie night. She'd gotten all dolled up in her best pink outfit—shockingly hot pink skirt with pastel blush pink leggings underneath, a matching pastel blush pink blouse, adorable watermelon pink kitten heels, and as many various other shades of pink in hair clips, bows, and a big ol' fuscia pink scrunchie holding most of her hair back. Okay, she knew she looked totally ridiculous in the hair compared to the rest of her rather well put together outfit, but that was the point, okay! She was here to have fun, not look perfect."Hey guys!" she said as she walked up. "I'm Autumn, I'll be joining you too." She grinned at Soren—aww, he was kinda cute!

Vanya had invited her to a movie! It was a very exciting prospect, for a cat who spent much of her time bouncing around from place to place and person to person. She didn't tend to spend a lot of time with any one particular senshi, but Ash found unexpected pleasure in the idea of getting to do something fun and 'normal' with one of them... as normal as something could be with a talking alien cat involved.
She'd been a little nervous of this being a group affair, those nerves warring with the part of her that loved to meet new senshi and add them to her collection. Probably time to start getting out more and beat those nerves into submission! She was, as the database had said, the Silver Lady, even if she could not remember how or why she had come to be known as that. She'd been important once, it seemed, and that felt like big shoes to fill.
Trotting around the corner, she slowed at the small knot of people that awaited her, scanning the faces until she found the familiar one. Okay, so Vanya was here, that was good... She wouldn't have to make introductions all on her own. The small silver cat paused a moment to straighten her visor and necklace, smoothing down her wiskers to make sure all was in place. Assured everything was, she picked up her pace again, slipping past the forest of legs to make her way to one particular pair and wind herself around them.
Just to make sure these were the people Vanya had mentioned and not some randos, Ash kept her voice to herself and instead headbutted Vanya's knee.

At the response he garnered from Faust, Vanya wrinkled his nose and frowned like a moderately upset and incredibly confused bunny. “What do you mean, I—? We…… We met earlier this week, and……?”
Words escaping him when faced with a social situation that felt Potentially Uncomfortable, Vanya could only stare down at the incredibly muscular Mauvian and wonder what the Hell was happening, and why Faust no longer seemed to recognize him, but……oh. Right.…… The answer to this predicament smacked Vanya upside the head as Soren and Autumn showed up, and specifically as Vanya looked at Soren in particular. His Mauvian-made glamour trinket allowed him to pass as human, rather than allowing him to just be his true, draconic self, because unfortunately, some humans were incredibly picky about things like whether or not everybody present around them was also human (and, like, some humans were really weird about throwing themselves into danger with no real reason for it, and some humans probably would believe that Daedalus’s true form was real instead of a cosplay and stick their noses into things, and then, and then, and then………).
Magical glamors, though. That explained everything.
Vanya looked around before opening his mouth, since he couldn’t feel auras right now and the last thing anybody needed was getting themselves outed to the Negaverse, or for a youma to show up out of nowhere. Even once he felt mostly assured that everything was as safe as it could be in Destiny City (which overall did not necessarily indicate safety so much as things just being quiet for the moment), Vanya kept his voice down to say, “That Dark Mirror guy, Murikabushi? He handed you off to me while I was powered up……” Hoping it might help prove that he was telling Faust the truth, Vanya fumbled in his hip pocket to bring out his henshin pen, all gold and shocking blue, with the little screaming, silhouetted monster guy from Farbauti’s brooch on the decorative top-fob, just done in blue rather than gold like on said brooch. “And I, uh? Invited you to come to the cinema with us? To see Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie?”
As always happened when he brought up auteurs by name, Vanya wanted very badly to start explaining who Greta Gerwig was, what her career as a filmmaker had been like prior to the Barbie movie, and why this bode well for the film at the center of tonight’s events. But—it was probably more helpful to introduce Faust to everybody else. “And, um. These are the friends who I said were coming? Soren and Autumn are both senshi like Farbauti, and Ash is the Mauvian who Awakened me and Autumn?”
Before he could do anything stupid with it, Vanya slipped his henshin pen back into his pocket. Then, he gestured at his unzipped sweatshirt. “……So I can smuggle you in? Once it’s zipped, I mean?”
