WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment. I like storylines, I like the entertaining promos. But most of all, I like entertaining matches.
Now, how do I rate a match entertaining?
Simplly one word: skill.
If a superstar doesn't have skill, I do not believe he should be given a championship. And everytime a superstar steps into the squared circle, they have a fresh chance to prove they have skill. However, when a superstar of below-level skill is given a huge push... I'm okay with that. So long as the push dies in an appropriate time.
And even for a superstar with skill. His/her push doesn't need to end, but I don't think that any one person should hold a big title for too long. Like with John Bradshaw Layfield. I respect the man's talent, I don't like his attitude. He was WWE Champion for the longest reign in almost ten years. Too long, everyone agrees. I almost cheered when John Cena, a man who I believe has much better mic talent than wrestling skills, beat him at Wrestlemania 21.
Almost.
This isn't a Cena bashing thread, just a Championship opinion thread.
Cena's title reign has been too long. Aside from the three weeks Edge had it, Cena has had the title for almost a full year.
Too long.

tru in most parts but i think if a wreslter has enough skill to keep the tilte and allow the fans not to be upset that he has had it too long then its fine lets say if Someone like Kane won it and actually kept it I could see him keeping the title for at least a year it reality it should happend

True, someone with skills simliar to those of Kane, Undertaker, Angle, Regal (yes, THAT Regal), and many others would allow them to keep the title for extended periods of time, whether they are a Face or a Heel.

So that's why I said "and many more" lol

I think it's been shown with Cena that eventually people get tired of cheering the same champ. Now I don't hate John Cena, nor am I a fan girl that goes nuts when he's on TV (before anyone accuses me of being a hater or something).
Several months ago I started to notice that Cena got less of a pop then other main eventers. Lately there have been Cena sucks chants at many events (RAW included). They have been getting louder since the Triple H/Cena match was announced. I think that the fans are getting sick of knowing that every PPV Cena will retain.
People want the edge of their seat "will the bad guy win" feeling again. I mean giving the title to Edge was a good idea, but we all knew he'd lose it at the PPV again and Cena would run with it. I hope they get the sense in em to actually make the titles worth fighting for again.
People don't ask Vince for ME status because they know that Cena will win. Maybe that's going to change at WM in 52 hours!

I would like to see Edge as WWE champion again and have a good run like for a year or months...Edge will surely make a good champ 3nodding I don't know if Edge could do it with Lita stuck to his butt. He's such a great wrestler, but the whole "I'm nailing the hoe" thing is dragging him down. I say drop Lita then I'll vote for you for a title holder... but as I said above.. no one should hold for THAT long. Doesn't matter how damned good you are.

I think that if a superstar can hold the fans attention for long enough and make it interesting they should be able to hold it for a good while.
2 examples and they both involve Hogan. in the 80's he was WWE champion for more than 3 years. After a while fans started to lose interest so it was decided to give it to Savage. Then Saxage for some reason or another didn't conect with the fans the way it was hoped and it was givin back to Hogan
In WCW , allowing Hogan to hold the title as often and as long as it did was one of the best moves ever and thats why WCW lasted and beat WWE for a while. Because at that time most ppl hated Hogan , so if WCW wanted to give one of there stars a push , they had Hogan Lose the title to them. To best examples of that are Sting and Goldberg. if anyone does not agrre they are more than welcome to discuss it.

Yeah, but Cena isnt a good technical wrestler, even though I hate to say it, Edge has more skill than Cena. crying Anyways, what about Moolah?

I personally don't know what people's beef with John Cena is. He's one of the two new guys that I see promise in, the other being Batista (though I am not a fan). I love Triple H, but seeing him as the champion for 2 and 1/2 years or however long it was while Evolution was around got a little tiresome. They're doing with Cena what they did with Trips a few short years back. The champion doesn't really change much, which is a damn shame, but hey. Gotta keep people like us interested right? It sucks to me because I think the only people on RAW qualified to hold the title are HBK, Trips, and Cena. Since HBK is in a total other storyline, that leaves him out. Edge doesn't deserve s**t. He isn't main event material in my eyes, but he's definately a step up from Randy Orton.

I usually get a lot of flack for liking feds like Ring of Honor, TNA and Heartland Wrestling Association (although, I don't like TNA as much but it does work as a good alternative), I personally think that wrestling should be just what it is...WRESTLING! I like a good storyline every now and again, but I'm really interested in storylines that make sense like a normal betrayal for a title hunt or an alliance to end a wrestling career or something like that but when it has stuff like sex or drugs or some really stupid motive behind the wrestling match, that motive just takes all the pleasure out of the match and you just ask yourself, "why did they make it because of this?", I really don't like it when people don't recognize any good that a wrestler does just so they can hate them, I mean remember all the cool stuff Jeff Hardy did, now he's one of the most hated wrestlers in the internet and smark community...stuff like that really annoys me because WRESTLING IS WRESTLING no matter who's in the match
