"This is weird for me," Carlisle was saying, as he walked beside his fellow Knight. They tended to work together a lot, but usually at the library rather than on patrol. Walking beside one another, they looked like a fantasy book had gotten loose and was running amok. Two very armored, classic looking Knights of Earth, shimmering in their armor and capes.
It made him feel a little goofy, like if someone saw them they would ask where the ren faire was.
Camelot did not seem to mind, though he rarely troubled himself with stuff like that. Either he was always feeling embarrassed and no longer recognized it as odd, or he really had stopped caring and was just more focused on the duty at hand. People would always think whatever they wanted, and no amount of fretting he did about it would really change that. It was a waste of energy, he often told Carlisle in their training, to get upset or distracted by something like an opinion.
For Carlisle, it was easier said than done. He was still a hot head, even after his purification. Of course, horrible experiences had tempered him somewhat, and the poison of chaos was gone, but it just allowed his true personality to shine all the more. It turns out, he was a proud and loyal being, and he worked diligently to protect those he cared about. Camelot, Sinistra, and even Painite in her way, topped the list.
Sinistra's new friend, Wezen, however, did not qualify yet. That girl was a mystery.
"Hey, I sense someone nearby," he said, elbowing Camelot. The Royal Knight gave him a look, obviously already aware of the other White Moon aura in the area. It was like taking a puppy for a walk after a rainy spell. Carlisle seemed very excitable.
"Well, let's go see if they want to say hello. If that's not too weird for you," Camelot teased gently. Maybe he should power down a rank, so Carlisle did not feel like they stuck out quite so much? Not that it would change his appearance all that much.

Quiet evenings were a welcome thing these days, especially for Spei. Since confessing to his parents about dropping out of DCU and lying to them for four years (even though they had known all along), he felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders, and he could live his life his way. Which meant focusing on programming gigs during the day and DJ gigs (and patrolling) at night. He was between gigs in both jobs, though, and truth be told it was kind of nice. He had plenty of funds in the bank, so it was good to take a break every now and then and just be. As he practiced his parkour moves from rooftop to alley to rooftop again, he picked up a pair of Order auras, both pretty strong and increasing as he neared the park. He paused to analyze them (something he still needed to practice) – and determined that they were Knights. Interesting! Maybe he could introduce himself, make some more connections within the faction. Moon Knights were pretty thin on the ground yet, but others? More information was always good. Spei made his way toward the auras and leapt off the rooftop to land in a parkour roll to his feet on the edge of the park. Triangulating on their location, he moved in that direction. "Hello?" he called quietly once he was close enough that they might hear him. He hoped they were friendly Knights…

"Hello!" Said Camelot, holding up his hand as he spotted Spei as he was making his way toward them. He stopped, Carlisle stopping next to him and grinning ear to ear. He always felt like he looked wild, with his helmet and flashy armor, but next to Camelot it still felt like he was the least likely to draw a look.
It was probably the Royal Knight aura that gave that impression. It was hard to miss, after all.
Of the two Earth knights, Camelot was the more comfortable with introductions and talking in general. The former half-youma had gotten over a lot of his own reservations with time and practice, but he still found he had problems being scary or overbearing. It was never his intention, but he could be intense, especially when he was training or on patrol. At least he did not have claws, a tail and a wing any more, as that had definitely made it harder to talk to people.
Though sometimes he missed his tail and wing, as his ability to scale walls had been off the charts.
"What brings you out here? Patrolling?" Camelot was saying. "Ah, forgive me. I'm Camelot, Royal Knight of Earth, and this is Carlisle, also of Earth."
"But just your bog standard knight," Carlisle said with a nod.

A Royal Knight! So that was why the one aura he'd felt was so different, so strong! Spei's eyebrow went up. "I'm Spei, Squire of the Moon," he greeted, sketching a small bow, not letting the rest of his expression reveal how surprised he was. "Pleased to meet you both. I was just out patrolling, as I usually do. Practicing my parkour moves as well. It's come in handy a few times, being a traceur." He studied the two Earth Knights, comparing their uniforms to those of the other Knights of various Wonders he'd met. Pluto, Polaris, the Moon, now Earth… they were all so different. Was there anything at all cohesive about the Knight faction at all? Or were they just a varied collection of people with a varied collection of magical powers? Did anything unite them? Letting that mull over in his mind, Spei turned his attention to Camelot. "I've, um, never met a Royal Knight. Do I… have to do anything to acknowledge that? Like call you sir or something?" he shrugged. Lithiasaur thanks for being so patient with me! heart

"Parkour is the best!" Carlisle said eagerly, Camelot eying him but not looking too upset to be interrupted. He was used to the overly energetic trouble maker he had taken on as his sidekick, considering him a family member and accepting his idiosyncrasies in the same way. Carlisle was grinning, wanting to talk about the subject more, but the question directed at Camelot made him pause.
He had never considered it before. Were they supposed to show him some kind of respect, because of his rank? He was just... the man he owed his life to. his new life, as much as his old one. Someone he would protect until his dying breath, and someone he was utterly loyal to. But, he had to admit, he was also fairly casual with him and often teased him just for the fun of it.
Not particularly respectful at all.
Camelot, of course, shook his head and waved his hands, holding them up helplessly.
"No, no. I usually get by just fine with Camelot, or even Cam. No title necessary. I can even power down a rank, to match Carlisle's, if that's more comfortable." Camelot offered with a chuckle, though a glance at his companion's anxious face told him he wanted to get back to the previous comment. "Ah... parkour, huh? I am... not very good at that. I mean, I've got a few moves, but I'm sure yours are far more impressive. have you been practicing it long?"
"I used to practice it a lot, too," Carlisle butt in excitedly. "Before I lost my tail. I should really get back into it."
