Name: Huanxi Xin
Nickname: Huan-ge (though only one specific person gets to call him this), a few other very specific nicknames. But for most people, he would prefer to be Huanxi, please.
Gender/Pronoun: Roughly cis man, he/him. It makes the most sense relative to his comparative understanding of how Earth handles gender vs how it was handled on Helene.
Age: 1,037, though Huanxi appears mid-twenties regardless, as his people were long-lived and aged quite slowly.
Birthday: Huanxi has actually done the calendar math, and the date he was born on the Helenian calendar corresponds roughly to February 23rd on Earth.
Sign: Pisces
Gemstone: Amethyst
Blood Type: ….Internal? Huanxi does not understand this question.
Fav. Food: Huanxi strongly prefers vegetarian food.
Hated Food: His people
can eat meat but
strongly prefer not to, and while he
has eaten it over the past centuries as he got increasingly desperate, it still kinda makes him sick.
School/Occupation: Please let him get back to you on this, because in the past, his occupation was “Sailor Helene” and apparently this is not valid anymore.
Hobbies: Music || Music and song were incredibly critical parts of Helenian culture, and Huanxi still loves it. Though it has been a long time since he’s had occasion to play, he’s finding that he rather likes Earth music, especially the stringed instrument kind. Particularly, he’s discovered a love of acoustic guitar, and playing helps him focus.
Reading || Particularly, Huanxi is very interested in nonfiction. He enjoys deep diving into information about Earth’s history, politics, religions, cultures…anything he can get his hands on. The preservation of memory has become incredibly important to him, and Earth, it seems, is very good at it—so Huanxi is all too eager to devour every bit of information available.
Gardening || Growing one’s own food, to Huanxi, seems like the finest of all possible endeavors, and generally, it makes him feel good to plant something in the ground,t end it, and watch it grow. His little garden plot behind Lianli’s home is, to him, a sort of first step fro what comes after the Chaos is cleared off his world—he doesn’t know if it will restore itself, and if it doesn’t, he will be ready to replant it with his own two hands. For now, though, his garden is for his own peace of mind and for ingredients in the kitchen.
Cooking || Huanxi has always liked to cook, though he hasn’t had much chance to do it for quite a long time. Now that he’s on Earth and has access, once again, to many fresh, healthy, delicious ingredients, he intends to make use of them. And also spices. Good Cosmos, he has missed spices SO much. Please let him cook for you, it’s the only way he knows how to show affection.
Virtues: Restrained || On the surface, Huanxi comes across as calm, cool, and collected, and to some degree, this is true. He’s very good at keeping his head no matter what he’s feeling inside, at presenting a collected and cool exterior, and generally at seeming to be the most Together person in a room. This may not always be
true, but sometimes, perception is more important than reality.
Righteous || In the truest, most genuine sense of the word, Huanxi wishes to do right and be righteous. He will always strive to find the right thing to do, and to do right by the most people possible. And while the won’t force this commitment on other people, he
will urge those around him to do better, and
will do his best to lead by example.
Fair || Fairness is something that is incredibly important to Huanxi. As a very rules-and-laws-oriented person, those rules and laws being applied fairly and equitably is a non-negotiable part of him believing that they are just and reasonable to follow. This means that unfairness rankles him badly, and he will do whatever he can to mitigate it; it also means that he holds himself to the same standards of conduct that he would hold anyone else to. Generally, you can tell Huanxi that life isn’t fair, and he’ll agree with you, and then shrug and say that as it is not naturally, he will work twice as hard to make it so.
Flaws: Unhinged ||
Under the surface, Huanxi is actually a very incredibly emotional person. While he’s trained himself to set them aside when necessary, in truth he is simply brimming with feelings that often seek to overwhelm him. He is at his most irrational when he buries his feelings for a long time; often, they explode out of him in the form of bad decisions or an unusually short temper. In the past,h e was taught that this meant he had to work harder on controlling them; in the present, his control is ever fraying and he is generally having A Bad Time about it.
Awkward || Huanxi has never been Good At People. He doesn’t consider himself particularly social, and certainly not charismatic or charming. He is blunt, unsociable, and prefers to avoid dealing with people to the extent that he can. This is lessened around the people he cares about, but in truth Huanxi is like a cat that has bonded to very select people: if you aren’t one of them, he doesn’t want to deal with you more than he has to.
Rules-Bound || There were many rules governing Helenian life. Huanxi knows all of them by heart, even so long after the fall of the civilization they were written for. These rules helped him navigate life, helped him understand right from wrong, helped guide him. They helped him manage the feelings he felt he needed to repress. Rules are critical, and he is often bound to them in ways that can be unhealthy. In essence: Huanxi often struggles with the difference between the
correct thing and the
right thing, because they are often not the same, especially when it comes to the tangled snarl of rules that were imposed on him and that he’s created for himself.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONEyes: Round, monolid
Hair: Soft yellow fading to green
Face: Oval
Skin Tone: Lightly tanned, like he spends quite a bit of time outside (because he does)
Body Type: Muscular, but in a toned way—essentially, you wouldn’t think he’s as styrong as he is by looking, and then he takes off the plaid buttonup and ARMS.
Clothes: i once described his general style as “butch lesbian flannels.” You know.
The Vibe.
