Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared in Destiny City, but no one’s been able to tell where they came from or where they’re going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers. Amsvartnir did not generally enjoy starfest. There was too much weird s**t happening for it to be an exciting time of year for him. Even if, this year, nothing big really happened—for which he was grateful, don't get him wrong!—it still felt... strange. And just because nothing truly big that took over the city happened didn't mean that all the small things didn't pile up. Stories of strange candy that glued mouths shut, stories of some freaky bear guy thing that sounded like some form of Sasquatch near a refreshed power plant, and then the ******** crazy bugs hatching out of some kind of creepy coconuts from a tree in one of the major parks. Which was just extra odd because where the hell did coconut-like fruit come from given that was a tropical type of plant and they lived on the upper east coast of the United States?! Ahhh, this crazy magical s**t that he lived with always found a way to drive him nuts! Not to mention the amount of people getting struck by lightning and not suffering much in the way of ill effects. Which, again, was nice, and yet... Just too weird! Ah, well. At least the fireflies seemed pretty normal. He always did love them. He smiled as he watched them dance in the park, swaying a bit to music playing in his head and humming along to it, making it up to the dance of the fireflies. ... Wait, was that a purple one? A green one?! No, fireflies were meant to be yellow, what the heck—oh, no, a blue one. Damnit. Something always had to be weird! "What the hell is going on," he groaned, not really expecting an answer. "Why are you wrong colored? This is not okay!" He huffed, crossing his arms and glaring at one of the blue ones. How dare you, little bug?

It had not, in any way, been a quiet Star Festival for Casablanca. It had mostly been unquiet in a good way, but there had been the odd girl in the park, the weird plants, the stranger from outer space with the cool magic items, ad worst of all, there were the ******** evil puddles that wanted to eat her soul or whatever...yeah, it had been a whole lot.
So when she wandered into the park, and spotted the rainbow fireflies, she took and let out a deep breath, because, well...this was definitely more weird magic bullshit.
And apparently, she wasn't alone in not appreciating Whatever The ******** This Was, because she could a) feel another Squire nearby and b) hear someone yelling at the fireflies, and if she had to take a guess? They were probably the same person.
So, as casually as she could, she strode over, and--oh, hey! Another Cosmos Squire, that was pretty exciting, wasn't it?
"I'm guessing they're the wrong color because magic," she idly observed. "Hi, I don't think we've met, I'm Casablanca."
Might as well get all that out of the way, since they were gonna have to get ot know each other.

Amsvartnir inhaled sharply in shock, turning to face the other person with both wariness and relief. Wariness, because she'd snuck up on him, even if accidentally, and relief, because oh, thank goodness, she was a Cosmos Squire, and not a Negaverse Agent or Corrupt that had surprised him. He smiled at her, giving a little wave. "Hi. Amsvartnir. Nice to meet you. I haven't met many Cosmos Knights," he said. "And, yeah, magical bullshit, huh?" He shrugged, watching the fireflies once more and frowning slightly at them. "It's freaking me out a little. What do you think happens if you catch them? Anything? Nothing?"

"Nice to meet you, Amsvartnir," Casablanca said, cheerily. "Always a good day to run into another Cosmos Knight."
The question made her tilt her head to the side and consider. She eyed the fireflies curiously, and then gave a brief nod.
"Well, there's only one way to find out, yes?" She said, and then she took a step forward, reached out, and yelped. A tingle of electricity flowed up her arm, and she stumbled backwards, shaking out her hand.
"Ow! Okay, ow, do not try to catch them. They're electrified, or something, what the ******** about magic bullshit, and this was, if you asked Casablanca, pretty much ultimate level bullshit. Fireflies that hurt you! That wasn't even fair! Fireflies were supposed to look pretty--rainbow fireflies even moreso!
"Honestly, who even allows this s**t?"

Smiling wider in response, he nodded, about to say something else—and then she reached out and touched one of the rainbow fireflies, only to jerk back in pain. He winced sympathetically and tucked his hands under his armpits to remove the temptation of touching them himself despite the display he'd just watched where Casablanca had clearly gotten hurt touching one of them. "Noted, and yikes. You okay? It wasn't that serious, was it?" he asked, looking her over. "And really, I don't know, but it's really annoying. Just let things be normal for a bit, huh?"

Casablanca winced, shaking her head, and exhaled.
"Nothing too serious, no." Which was for the best. "But, uh, do not follow my example." Hopefully that went without saying, but...impulse control. Bad. She was familiar wit that, and maybe he was too. Either way, she wanted to Not Be Here for any longer, lest she decide that in the name of science, or whatever, she should try it again. Just to see if it shocked twice.
"Do you wanna, like? Get out of here?" She gestured, broadly, at the park around them. "We could take a walk, wander around the city, generally not be around the glowy, flying tazers." Okay, it wasn't that bad. She was definitely exaggerating a little, calling them tazers. But still! Electric fireflies! Absolute, complete, unrelenting bullshit. "Besides, two of us are a lot safer than one." That, she figured, was the ultimate pitch. A Nega might ******** with one Squire, but two were totally too scary to screw with.
Whatever he decided, Casablanca was pretty sure that she wanted to be anywhere but here.
