Insidious Insects (18 ) :In the first week of July, the area around the tree is just buzzing. The call of the cicadas is loud and droning, and it’s constant. You start to hear it all over town, too. All sorts of insects seem attracted to the strange pods, and it’s not uncommon to find nearly any species curiously investigating. If you listen closely, you notice something else strange–it’s not just the bugs that you see making the familiar call of the cicada. It seems like it’s coming from inside the pods, too. Any pod that wasn’t leaking sap suddenly begins to snap open, and giant cicadas, crawl out. Their full wingspan can reach up to a foot and they’re hungry–and angry. It seems like the pods that were leaking sap were slowly rotting, but the ones that didn’t leak were being eaten from the inside out–and now that the cicadas have run out of food, they’re out for anything they can find. Though there are several notable differences between these insects and the common cicadas, their low, chirping wail makes them easy to find–as well as the fact that they spit acid. These bugs are incredibly hostile and will attack indiscriminately, powered or unpowered, human or alien, day or night. They have a protective shell that makes them easy to crush but they’re hardly the most menacing foe you’ve faced–but if they reproduce, you could be in some real trouble. Better to crush them now before they become Destiny City’s next invasive species…
Note: These creatures are a violent alien species that are aggressive and eager to destroy. They will attack everyone and everything within sight. The insects can fly, spit acid, and will try to burrow into the ground to hide. They are very fast and difficult to see. This RP can be used as a battle requirement for a character, separate from your ‘one youma battle’ per stage if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered and interacting with another player’s powered character for it to count. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

Ausar (Dant without his human glamour) was buzzed awake one summer night. It penetrated his reptilian brain like no other, and he fell out of bed with a cry. It seemed that his roommates were out for the night. He cringed at the sound.

He managed to force himself to his feet, holding his head. He grasped his Henshin pen and pressed the Glamour, activating his Human Glamour; as the buzz drilled into his head. Then he pulled on a t-shirt and a pair of shorts, as well as some sandals.

Still holding his head, he headed out into the city (locking the door behind him) and went in search of the source of the dreadful buzzing.

As Dant neared the center of the center of the city, his head hurt so badly and his Glamour, which had been flickering on and off due to the buzzing interfering with the signal, he finally transformed into Sailor Sekhmet and continued following the buzzing. However, the buzzing only grew worse. By the time Sekhmet found help he was limping. He saw the Senshi up ahead and called out to her.

"SAILOR AMETKHAN!" He could barely hear himself think, and didn't think she could hear him, so he staggered over to her, tapped her on the shoulder and immediately collapsed at her feet, holding his head.

Sekhmet nodded staggering forward, his ears hurt so badly -- he suddenly felt a silent and rather painful pop in his right ear, then his left. His face twisted in agony even he realized the buzzing had stopped. He stood up straight.
"At least the buzzing stopped." But it had not, he just couldn't hear it or himself either (apparently, because his voice was off key and he did realize it), nor could he hear anything else. Copper blood started dripping out of his ears unbeknown to him.

"So, what do we need to do with those pods, do you think?" He then asked Ametkhan.

The human girl turned to him and said something, but as he watched her mouth and heard no sound come out, he realized that something was wrong - dreadfully wrong. It was when he felt something liquid touch his shoulder, that he looked and saw the blood there he realized what had happened - his ear drums had bursts and (at least for the moment) he was deaf.

He looked up just in time to see Ametkhan, who had gotten closer to the pods was in terrible danger. The pod had crashed to the ground, and now something was pushing it's way out and dripping acid.

Sekhmet immediately flung himself at Ametkhan hoping to knock her to safety, so that they could fight this thing together.

Sekhmet learned quickly that this Senshi liked to fight her battles head on. However, he had also learned that it was also sometimes good to fight battles from a distance.

Sailor Sekhmet calls out the name of the name of the attack and spins in a gentle circle, causing a small dust-devil of sand to spin-off of him. The magic creates an uncomfortable sensation of wind and sand beating against someone. It can make it difficult to see and breathe. At player discretion, it can cause lasting minor damage. It lasts for 30 seconds, reaches 10 feet, and has a maximum of 3 uses.

The pod swept around and fell on the bug, covering it with a heap load of it's own acid. But was it even injured?

Thankfully the bug had been taken care of, however now there was another problem.

Ametkhan was asking Sekhmet something... something about the other pods maybe.

Sekhmet's hearing had not returned - though fortunately the bleeding had stopped.

When he had managed to get her attention, he pointed to his ears and said a little off key... "I still can't _ear you."

Sekhmet nodded and typed a message on his own phone:


I may know of a friend who can help.


He gestured for her to follow him, and headed him.
