History
The story of Leander begins with the story of his parents. Seliyn and Elias met when they were young, Seliyn being from an affluent family in Belrea and Elias from a typical merchant family. At first the two found the other to be annoying and frustrating, their walks of life clashing to a point of strange rivalry between the two. Years went by like this, the two jabbing and teasing each other constantly until finally Elias let it slip that he had feelings for Seliyn. While rocky at first their relationship bloomed, and despite protest from Seliyn's family their adoration for each other held strong. Seliyn eventually took up her family's airship business, while Elias worked for a time with his own family.
Inevitably the two married, and with that decided to start a family. Leander was everything the two of them could have asked for, and both were doting parents full of love and joy for their little family. The early years of Leander's life was then filled with family outings together and anything a growing little boy could ask for with two kind parents. However, the costs of a child weighed heavy on them as Elias' merchant work slowed. To ensure they could make ends meet, Elias decided the best option for his family was to pick up a second job for a time, until the market prices rose again and he could better provide for his family. Elias applied for a job as a guard at the Valmon Museum of Natural History. Elias had always been curious about history, and so this was a good way to have fun while earning more to provide for his young son and wife.
Things were starting to look up for the three of them once more as Elias worked to provide, but after only a few weeks on the job tragedy struck as Elias was murdered by a group of infiltrators seeking out something in the museum. Both Seliyn and Leander were left alone, never knowing who had murdered their husband/father. Worse still, despite being heartbroken and inconsolable, Seliyn was forced into another marriage by her family to secure her place and ensure her financial stability. Leander was still doted on by his mother, but there was a distance between them now that hadn't been there before. His new stepfather, Cassien, showed no love for him and mostly ignored his existence all while his grandparents on his mother's side urged Seliyn to conceive another child with his stepfather.
Eventually as Leander grew older he gave up on ever living a peaceful life with his mother when those around him wished him to fade from existence, and instead went to live with his paternal grandparents. They did their best to care for him, but as the anger and frustration had built up over years with no outlet Leander too became difficult to deal with. Now an older teen, Leander wishes to venture out away from the bad memories and places of Belrea and possibly search for his father's killer and the one who ruined his life as he sees it.
