Quote: Radioactive Mysteries (13) : Destiny City has been booming, but with more people you need more power. Recently, an old power plant has been renovated and updated and just opened for business–but now people have been claiming dizziness or fatigue when in the area. Not to mention the animals. So far one shady, blurry video has been posted online of a strange bear-shaped humanoid ‘monster’ in the area. It’s difficult to tell if it’s a hoax or not, but whether or not you believe it, it might be a good idea to keep your eye out if you’re in the area. Especially because if you pass through, you feel like something’s watching you. It doesn’t have an aura so it can’t be a youma, but if you poke around too late at night you might find a strange creature that's built like a bear, covered in fur, but which has a strangely human presence. Something about it is just off--or, maybe it’s just your imagination. Maybe it’s just someone in a costume having a bit of fun at your expense. Still, its claws are sharp and it’s fast. When it runs through the forests, the trees seem to crack upon impact, and if you explore during the daytime you might find strange scratches and odd markings in the grass. The longer you’re in the area, the dizzier you get. Note: If you choose to encounter the strange creature, your character will recognize that it is not a youma. The creature seems smart enough to understand human words but does not respond and does not seem to listen. It will always disappear before it can be caught or gravely injured. This RP can be used as a battle requirement for a character, separate from your ‘one youma battle’ per stage if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered and interacting with another player’s powered character for it to count. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. Valetudo had heard whispers about the strange animal out near the newly refurbished Power Plant... She had looked them up online, afterwards, curious as to who had posted what about this. The various things she found were inconclusive, and the videos were confusingly unclear. She decided to head out that way, to see if it was some sort of strange Youma, and she wanted to be sure no one got hurt by the damn thing if it was. If it was not, perhaps she could manage to get a better video and post it, because why on earth not? The clout points on the Net could be fun, even if it was not her usual thing. After all, it was still fun to see how people reacted to stuff like this. Either way, she figured it was worth an investigation, and better to be powered up in case it was the rather more dangerous option. Either way, she was ready to go. She began to take a long walk through the trees in the area around the plant, in the hopes of finding the beast.

Harvey had heard about this bear-thing, saw the posts on the various forums that he browsed online, and had been in denial about being curious for some time now. In part because he’d been tired lately, part because it sounded dangerous, and part because he sort of didn’t want to go alone. Eventually, though, as more and more posts flooded in about encounters with this thing he couldn’t deny himself any longer.
The safest bet? Power up and go see for himself. So there he was as Kiringul, all clad in pink and wandering the woods in the middle of the night.
The area around the plant was creepier than he thought possible, but that might have been because of how dark it was and how thick the trees had become. He wasn’t even sure how far in he was, but looking back he was starting to think that maybe this wasn’t the greatest idea.
It was then that he sensed a familiar energy, which brought him the slightest bit of comfort. He sought it out, and when he spotted the red-and-white person in the distance he called out.
“You looking for the thing, too?”

Valetudo turned, startled, and stared at the stranger for a moment. She realized she had been NOT being very intelligent about this... She should have been using her ability to sense others to try to find the creature, but she'd been so busy just looking around... Well. She got lucky. The individual who had found her was NOT, in fact, the enemy, and she was extremely grateful for that. She looked the stranger over, and controlled the urge to flirt... Not really the appropriate time, and Powered up, she had no idea if he wore a ring. She definitely did not flirt with people wearing rings, that was not her jam. Better to be safe, not sorry. "Yeah, figure it's best to be sure it's not a youma. And if it's not, worst case I figured maybe I'd power down and try to get a better video than someone else, because why not? If it is, it needs dealing with." She flashed him a bright, friendly (and only friendly) grin, and added "Sailor Valetudo. Nice to meet you. Want to work together? I figure four fists are better than two, and all that."

Kiringul raised his brows at the word “youma.” It wasn’t entirely unfamiliar, he felt like he’d heard it in passing in his various encounters with other powered individuals, but it was still really new and kind of…weird. Was that the right word?
Why didn’t they just call them monsters?
Though truth be told, he didn’t care enough to really ask. It was more a personal preference than anything else, so after he registered the word he let it go and bobbled his head at her offer.
“Kiringul, and sure that sounds like a good plan. Full disclosure, I work in front of a desk all day and don’t get enough daylight, never mind exercise. If it does turn out to be aggressive and violent, feel free to abandon me if things start to get ugly. I’ll be alright.” Despite being the words that could have been scripted for a weenie-type character in a movie, the page looked perfectly serious and confident that he could manage on his own no matter the situation.
He gestured for her to lead the way, and after a few steps and briefly looking her over he asked, “So where’s your camera?”

"Mmm I am unlikely to vanish on you, but I will keep that in mind, Kiringul." She gave him an odd look at the idea that he felt it was ok for someone to just run off on him. That was a very odd choice, in her mind, and she was not at all inclined to take him up on the offer. And then his question caused her to stare at him in confusion for a long moment, before an expression of dawning understanding crossed her face. She grinned and pulled out her Senshi Cell Phone. "Well there's always this one right here. Senshi get cell phones, not signets." She gave a long shrug. "That said, I was planning to power down if I went to take a photo, and when I do that, I have all my stuff I had when I powered up, don't you? And I had my normal phone with me, so I was probably going to use that." She glanced around, for a moment, because she thought she heard a rustle nearby, but she didn't spot anything, so she looked back at the man.

There were another couple of words he wasn’t totally used to yet–“senshi” and “signet”. Frankly he didn’t even know what signet she was talking about, but rather than ask he figured he would find out sooner or later from someone. He preferred learning by experience as opposed to asking someone everything, anyway.
“Convenient. And I do, yeah. I just figured depending on whatever’s potentially out here it might be better to stay like this?”
As if on cue, there was a loud rustling to their left as the bear-thing made its way into their little clearing.
Kiringul held his breath as he locked eyes with the thing. Bear-thing seemed accurate enough. Large, apparently bipedal, sharp claws, and just…strange? He didn’t get any kind of energy signature from it, which both surprised and confused him. It seemed that was a recurring theme for him of late. The fact that it wasn’t outright hostile was another thing, though regardless he didn’t exactly get bright, sunshiney feelings staring it down.
“Camera! Camera!” he whispered to her, sounding more frantic than he would have liked and hoping the bear-thing didn't have bionic hearing.

Valetudo grinned. "Yeah, it's very convenient and I really appreciate that I have this. It makes communication so much easier." She blinked at his comment, then shrugged a little. "I mean sure, I just don't want to hurt it if it's just a kinda weird bear that people are over-hyping, you know?" She would not attack a normal animal, unless it came for her first... She did not like the idea of hurting things just living their best, natural life. The new rustling had her head turning and she stared at the very strange beast. "Uh... Ye... Yeah..." She whispered, carefully pulling up her phone and snapping a photo. Barely. Because moments after it took, it noticed them. Maybe it heard the click sound. Maybe it just smelled them. Either way, it made a terrifying sound that clearly indicated the bear did NOT approve of their presence, and it charged towards them. "OH ********." She yelled in surprise, darting to one side.

Kiringul would have cheered when the clicking sounds indicated that she managed to snap a couple of photos, but taking the pictures very clearly pissed the thing off–it screamed and came right at them. Thankfully he was able to dodge just in time.
“Run!” he cried, glancing back just long enough to see that the bear was still charging, and he wondered in that split second if it needed to hit a tree to stop itself.

"Trying to..." She yelled back, as she darted to one side, trying to get out of the charging beast's range. She managed to dodge, at the very least, and she whirled to see if it kept going, and if Kiringul was ok, and was able to see it impact a tree... Hard enough to CRACK the poor tree. "Oh hell no! How is it that strong? This thing is unnatural, it does not belong here..." Maybe it's ancestors did, but whatever it was, this did not. And on top of all of this, she was beginning to feel a little strange, a little dizzy, and she did not like that feeling at all.

The resounding crack answered that question for him, so he continued running without looking back.
“No clue,” he replied, all the while looking around for a path of escape. “But considering I don’t know how to fight and have a cone for a weapon,” never mind the fact that he had no idea how to use it, if it was usable at all, “I don’t really wanna stick around and find out.”
Immediately to their left he saw a clear way out, so he pointed to it. “Let’s head that way?”

"A cone? I have no idea what that means..." She said, running after him, her eyes scanning the path in front of them to be sure there was nothing to trip either of them up. "I have no weapon, but I have magic. I just don't think BEARS are prone to laughter, and that's all my magic can do." She moved around a tree, trying to avoid the issue of getting slammed into, or slamming herself into, a trunk. It sounded like a one way trip to the hospital, and that was not on her plans for the day. "Besides, it's not a youma, it's not our responsibility at this point, I figure!"

The page nearly slammed into a tree when she mentioned what her magic could do. Thankfully he was able to avoid it–barely–and he glanced over his shoulder at the senshi with a bewildered look on his face.
“Yeah, I don’t think bears laugh, either,” was all he could say in response. Because they couldn’t, and he really, really doubted that this thing could either, bear or not. At her declaration of it not being a youma he just gave a nod in agreement, and continued to run until they were clear of the forest.
Once they were he moved to lay on the ground, fighting to catch his breath.
“Alright,” he gasped, “that’s my exercise quota for the week. You okay?”

"OK I get it, it's a WEIRD sounding power, but have you ever tried to fight when you're overpowered with laughter?" She said, sounding a little bit self conscious about her ability. She kept moving until they were out of the woods, out of range (she hoped) of that insane looking creature, not saying anything more. When they finally got to safety, she dropped to her knees, breathing heavily. "Ok so going out dancing all the time definitely does NOT prepare a girl for major running, good to know. Time to work on that, just in case." She glanced over at him, as she tried to catch her breath. "Ye...Yeah I think so, you?"

”I’ll live, I think,” he said between breaths. Soon enough he was breathing relatively normally again, so he pulled himself up off the ground and back onto his feet. He was sore in places he didn’t think he could be sore; if he had to guess, he probably pulled something while running faster than he’d ever run before.
“Well that’s all the adventure I need tonight. We came, we saw, we ran for our lives. Time for a hot shower.”
And possibly to take a closer look at what all it even meant to be a knight.

She glanced at him when he stood, before slowly getting to her feet as well. The petite senshi glanced up at him (even with those heels, he was a good bit taller than her), and nodded at his words. "Shower is a good idea. Possibly lots of water and ibuprofen, if I end up aching from that surprise exercise the way I suspect I might. I'll upload whatever I managed to capture later." She sighed, stretched a little to loosen her muscles, then added "Be careful going home, I think we might be a little too tired after all this if we were to encounter a Nega."
