The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.
He stared at the small stick in his hand with two little lines, eyes wide and blinking.
He was going to be a father again. He looked up at his wife, who was currently smiling at him with the sweetest of smiles, the bright meteors illuminating her face with their bright and rainbow colors that reminded him of those star charms he'd seen at the festival earlier. Really, he should be beaming with happiness, which he was but at the same time...Eli was terrified. Not because of the second child on the way, but of the fact that they were bringing another child into this dangerous world that contained monsters like him. Colin was an exceptional child, a rarity that he wasn't sure HOW he came from a union between him and Lily with the exception that he was all nothing but Lily.
This next child he hoped was the same, but he had his doubts.
One of their future children would turn out with his personality, and with that came other side effects. He was not under any impression that his manic tendencies were not unusual, but he worried that it may be genetic since Ryan had that unhinged manic personality whenever he was Wither. It was something to be worried about, but the best thing was that his wife was quite unaware about this side to him unless they were in bed [he couldn't help himself there usually, Lily did not bring out the gentle in him when it comes to bed activities. He was genuinely in wonder that he never managed to hurt her.], which was something that often made him laugh a little each time.
Still he was avoiding the topic at hand.
Eli's face went from shocked to happy, enveloping his wife, kissing the top of her head. "I guess Colin is going to be a big brother huh?" That thought also made him smile, the poor kid is not going to know what to do, he was sure Colin was going to be bouncing off the walls. It was also a good thing that they moved into a house, the new baby would need their own room, and he hopped they would be having another boy since they still had some of his old baby clothes that could be reused. He didn't know what he would do if they had a girl, probably prepare to rip out starseeds once she became a teenager, he had no doubts that their child would be very good-looking given his and Lily's genes.
He chuckled, getting down on his knees to place his face into Lily's stomach gently, holding onto her hips. "Hey kid, glad youre here. Try not to put your mother through too much alright?" He felt Lily's hands running through his hair and he sighed contently. He did this once with Colin, he could do it again with this kid, and anymore they chose to have in the future. Thinking back to when he didn't have Lily, he thought kids was something he would never want given how his parents treated him when he was a child. Yet, here he was, one kid with another on the way.
He could do this, he had to.
